I have the race series Koni's in my road/track hack. They are worth their weight in gold, transform the car with the added bonus of adjustability.

Either M50 or 52 will be the go, I assume most of the other things are the same for the swap??? so once I find a suitable donor when the funds come through, I won't be purchasing a motor for a while. I really want maximum bang for buck with everything, since money doesn't exactly piss out of my wallet, but If I want to do it right, I want to do it right the first time. RyanG, I will just use the G260 in my car, plus I have a spare G260 as well, want to try make the most of the majority of parts I already have on the car. I would use whatever brake booster is easiest to install as I plan on DIY'ing everything bar the exhaust. In terms of radiators I have a far larger than factory m20 325i radiator, temp gauge wouldn't go past a 1/4 except on the track up to half, Glenn you wouldn't know what radiator Dan used would you? So I was wondering if I could get away with that.

Hey guys, So I am seriously thinking and am seriously tempted to do this as it would transform my car on the track, I am over having a unreliable, tired motor. Especially the fact that my m20 sounds like it has given up the ghost after a track day on Saturday. So I need some more info on this, I know of a few guys that have done this, I was wondering if they could point me in the right direction for walkthrough's, DIY's etc so I can work out what I need and the most efficient way to do this. My mate is doing this to his e30 in the summer also, so any info posted here would be doubly beneficial. Thanks in advance, Nathan

^ Yeap, earlier in the day in the 'slower' class. It was a very relaxed day, once the pace heated up later in the day helmets were compulsory in all classes.

Okay so ran at a clubmans track day on Saturday at Manfield. Only took me 18 months to finally drive a E30 on the track again but I did it. Car ran fantastically, suspension modifications were well worth it, and those R888's are quite literally worth their weight in gold. Brakes had feel all day, although they were a little spongy so I am going to put in a E32 7 series master cylinder in at some point. As many would have seen from the other thread lost a fan belt through the esses and subsequnently caused the car to overheat and from my amateur diagnosis I think I have done some damage to the motor, there is now a nasty knock and is sounding pretty rough early in the rev range, but time will tell, I was definitely down on power all day long, lacking about 15 to 20kph down the back straight. Anyway here are the pics, there are a couple other BS'ers in them, Kerry (bmpower) in the burgandy E30 and Oli (sydwayze30 in the champagne colored E30. Estimated I would've been running 1.30's and was starting to fly before the belt came off and ruined the day. Car and driver have massive potential and improvements to be made. 3/5 E30's there on the day Me down the front straight with Kerry in tow Also through the esses Looking, and sounding awesome Even let my Dad take it for a spin with my GF riding shotgun, even he said it needs a M50 now

^ Cheers Kerry, pm me your email, I have some sick photos of me you and Oli in the same shot. And I am sure you have some for me. Haha and thanks, I mean I wasn't as fast as you, but atleast it looked good

^ Not yet, a knowledgable friend has said you may want to check I havn't broken a rocker. That will be the next thing.

I am not going to totally jump to conclusions yet, I can still drive it and luckily I won't be on the track till early next year, but I don't think the track day made it run any better

Glass of Water and Panadol before bed. Then Red Bull + Canned Peaches in the morning.

PFL E30 325i So track day yesterday. Long story short, came in after a run with smoke pouring out under the bonnet after coolant spraying over the rocker cover, thought it was just the overflow hose leaking excess onto the engine, so let it cool down and went back out. Went out again looked down at the speedo and noticed the water temp at 3/4 and the battery light on, thought oh f**k! came back in and had lost the fan belt so no water pump pumping, no fan spinning or no battery charging etc etc. Fixed the belt, now when it is idling it sounds like there is a deep knocking inside, I can hear it knocking off beat and when blipping on down shifts it is very rattly and raspy not the usual deep blip. Anyone got any ideas? Looks like a motor rebuild could be a even closer possibility, it still drives fine, was noting it was lacking power on the other similarly tuned 325i's yesterday. Motor has down 306k. Cam needs to be replaced, I already new that, so I was already calculating a head rebuild. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Nathan

Perfect candidate for a e30m30...do want.

Ireland Engineering do them, but they aren't cheap. Nice car Matt, good to see your taking your time slowly modding it and spending money in the right places. I like it alot.

Don't really see how you can get a 3 tonne supercar...also what a waste of money IMO
