  1. i would venture to suggest an NZ new e34 will never be rusty...they are mostly galvanised(e 34 that is) would need very harsh conditions for an NZ one to rust.
  2. i havent had a lot of cars bu the heater in the e34 is the heater from hell.....it warms up very quickly cos of the aux water pump and if you want it can REALLY crank up the heat....sometimes it decided to on its own!
  3. and the NZ cars nearly all had electric seats(sports seats).I think one i have seen didnt .Most of the pommy cars seem to have manual seats. Not such a big deal but the elecrtic ones can be adjusted to minute increments.I change the seat for different shoes!
  4. air conditioning removes moisture form the air as a natural phenomena as it cools the air. That water is recondensed as is left to drain out of the system. Is normal
  5. 545 manual please. 535d manual 530d manual
  6. i have seen some manual x5 deisels(or were they petrol.)You were heading North across Bowen street
  7. thought i saw you Daniel crossing Bowen Street at intersection with Tinakori road.I was in the 535 stopped at he traffic lights. Was close to new year I think, would like an Msport deisel.Has anyone driven a manual 3.0 deisel?
  8. by all means take it to someone else(and i suggest Botany Motor Worx) but surely at only two weeks it is the dealers respon$ibility to actually repair.
  9. 1500 for a 535 is????.the engine clutch gearbox and lsd aloneare worth that surely.Biut to the OP....you get what you pay for.All the cars you are looking at are getting on and or have high mileage.A seven series isa hell of a lot of car for the money, much much nicer cars than say a falcadore, but they are high end cars so maintenance and repairs will cost more than say a 2000 or 4000 dollar commodore....whatever you buy get them checked by someone who knows what they are lookin at.The 728 or 730 are prolly very good buys because just about everyone says buy a 740.The 535 looks as tho it might still have the original metric wheels n tyres
  10. have you checked ALL fuse locations..there will be at least two major fuse locations. My e 34 has a bank in the engine bay and another under the rear seat.Dont know about e 39
  11. i will always remember that car. When i met you at the taupo training day years ago i was sitting directly behind you while we waited for an excercise to clear...the sound of the s38 idling was music to mine ears
  12. gosh thats been a marathon Bruce,I hope he appreciates what he has got.
  13. ooh i wonder how long the auto last with 400 hp?

thats interesting i thought the NZ cars couldnt use the eat chips cos we have a closed loop non cat system...
  15. sure its just kids sometomes.one time our toyota was broken into, stereo was half hanginng out the dash cos i was halfway through rewiring something, console was full of 1 and 2 dollar coins, but all they did was wrek the door lock, with succh force the door skinwas also dentred/crimped and all they took were sweets!
  16. interesting to hear ..i have had my 535 for seven years now...replaced the battery after about 2 years....have had absolutely no worries,Car used to be used daily, now used maybe once a week maybe once every two weeks....Mind you the battery is the biggest car battery i have seen...
  17. i got a hella for mine at a local auto electrician who was having a sale....was starting to crank slowly and had required a jump start...weak battery plus 1600kg car = AA
  18. what offset are they brent.My 17 x 8.5 are 15 or 13
  19. if they dont fit an e34 its very very likely they wont fit an e 28....the offset is right, what width are they? They look WIDE
  20. no not knob below dash panel.thats has something to do with radio or stereo but it doesnt seem to do anything on my car which has stock stereo.pretty sure that it is the dial adjacent to the light switch.I think the one adjacent to the fog light switch is the instrument light brightness.
