    M5

i bet you wouldnt. You would lose your license first.
  3. 25/26 i over thought the citroen one i was certain they are three <<< thingy's,couple of informed guesses there though
  4. yes years ago went to turners with exactly the same goal to get a cheap car to go to and from work mostly. There were a bunch of big ol toyota crowns, big square boxy things, the first one went for 200 the next for 100 the rest they couldnt give away...
  5. and yet you own an e36? (just my opinion)
  6. its all good.Your thoughts echo my aquaintance at JGBMW he has said exactly the same thing. The underlying strength of the diesels tho is the torque.I must look at some mumbers.
  7. i meant the older one...the guy at JGBMW who put me onto mine told me that the 123d is a "rocketship".
  8. sounds good!.I agree with you about diesels(even though i own one).I would love to try a 123d,also with the twin scroll turbo,i think it pushes out the top end a bit. Also a diesel on the end of an 8 spd would be good to try. I like my little 120d as an all round package, nice brakes and steering,in hindsight a 120i in manual may be more to my liking but when the manual diesel came up i jumped at it
  9. so i1 led for every 6 bulbs you replace....how long will that take?
  10. how much have you spent on bulbs already.....?The LEDs will prolly use even less power than the cfls
  11. yes the 1 series has runflats, and absolutely no room for spare (and of course no jack).Thats why it will stay runflats. No problems with tramliing, just harsh riding
  12. mines a 2005 and has those iso fix loops everywhere!
  13. yes the 205 55 16 cost more than the 235 45 17s i used to buy for teh 5 series.Stick to the idea of a small car, round town they cant be beaten for parking and manouvering
  14. when you buy petrol there is a acc componeent in the pump price Diesel has none.Sorry i knew it was 4 hundered and something....I think the rims are slightly different but i beleive you can just swap the tyres, but you wont have a spare and there isnt room for one.
  15. my (manual)120d gets 6.5 l 100 average but I dont do much real stop start but my run to work is a mixture of 100 k and stop lights, and end up with a hill every day.The actual cost of diesel is only half of it.Road user charges are about 240 for 5000 ks,and that adds up.I chipped mine and it revs out better than before but its real strength is the torque for afirca from 2000 rpk till 4000 rpm.Even though i am manual mad i think for a day to day car an auto would be better.I can easily get round 5 l on the open road(flash readings of 2,-4 are common but NZ is a hilly little place) the tanks not that big(45-50l) and i get round 700 round town and over 900 on the open road.Run flat tyres are harsh riding and expensive Rego is also a lot more as there is no ACC component on the pump so you pay more at rego time.Rego was about 500 bucks for a year
  16. very nice the ultimate family car imho

    Two into one

the interesting thing about tubes is that the cross sectional area increases to the square of the radius a 25mm pipe has a cross section of 1963mm ,but a 50 mm tube has a cross section of 7853mm2 .So two 50mm tubes is 15707mm2 A single 70mm tube is 15393mm2.So by all means use a single tube but keep the above in mind

    E34 wobble

if it doesnt fix it i will be very surprised,as you seem to have adressed the other issues.Only issue you havent touched on is make sure that the wheels you are using have the correct hub dia meter. The e34 has about a 72.5mm hub, many bmw aftermarjet wheels for an e 34 will have a 74.1 mm which is e 39 spec. That .75mm misalignment can cause the wobble. You need the correct size hubcentric rings if you have a wheel with 74mm hub dia

    E34 wobble

thrust arm bushes, very common e 34 problem esp those with bigger wheels than std. Some say bushes from the e34 m5 or 750(e32) are better (more durable) than stock.I cant remember wether its the upper or lower arms and there is also a school of thougt about the exact tightening procedure. All the e34 forums will have detailed procedures
