DRFT T was at Daragville burnouts. N00b parked in a gateway and they were going to tow it out with a tractor. Think it stands for Drifty.
  2. Would prefer 318, but I've never driven a 316, so maybe I should before I rule them out. I'm interested to drive both of the above cars. I'll give it until next week to see what turns up and then make a trip down for a drive.
  3. If e30, preferrably facelift, but mint pre f/l examples considered. MUST be manual. If its not, don't bother. Looking for a pretty good condition one to be a daily driver. Small foibles may be overlooked if price reflects. NO rust a must. Good service history a must. Please don't waste my time with pieces of crap. Quick sale for the right car. Cheers everyone.

Most p-plates have way too much wank factor (My mate has HEYBBY for example). I think they just make you look like a tosser. A few finish off the car if it is a particularly mint or unique example, and in these cases seal the deal. There's a fine line. Have you crossed it?
  5. Check your map - maybe you are thinking Opononi to Darga-hole? Have to add my vote to Mangamuka's, but also (once they've resealed it again) Mangakahia Road from Kaikohe, then accross twin bridges to Dargaville. Also Tutukaka to Hikurangi in Whangarei.
  6. good point, but my house is worth more and I still paint it myself, and fix the plumbing etc. If you want to be dead sure you are not going to cock it up buy the over-priced gizmo (that is possibly poorly made and prone to failure anyway). Or if you have a few clues, and use some common sense, DIY all the way baby.
  7. I don't know as I havn't pulled one apart, but at a guess those cheap tools on trademe just have a pcb inside with a couple of resistors and a fuse. I wouldn't use a paper clip, but I DO use a bit of fused wire. Works every time and safe. The only benefit of the tool is you can't get the wrong pins by mistake. The tool BMW use is also a diagnostic tool etc.
  8. That's a bit of a filp then as at them moment, non-telecom CDMA handsets don't work on the telecom network (I wanted to import a pda phone and couldn't as it wouldn't work and ended up buying a secondhand Apache) Whereas with voda you can run any GSM handset that has been unlocked (The majority of them, and hence why the iphone has actually been in nz for quite awhile now, just not officially) What a pack of wankers - if they can't supply handsets at internationally competitive rates, then we should be able to outsource if we want to. BTW jimbo, when we used to send a letter to t/com saying - here is our proposed subdivision, what are your requirements?, they sent us a nice neat letter spelling it out in clear english for us to forward to the wallys at council for our RC consent. Chorus now sends us some vague waffle with no specifics and Council then make us go back to get specific details which Chorus are very unwilling to give. We are currently battling with chorus to get them to change their system. Pm me if you think you can shed some light on the situation.
  9. That is my favourite colour of m3. Very nice.
  10. Wow - bet he was packing himself watching that shed looming in the sidewindow. That's one written off e36. And with the DIC = no insurance!
  11. It's a good road. For even more fun turn off onto Old North Road at Riverhead instead of going through Kumeu to Helensville, and drive up to Peak Road and rejoin SH 16 at Kaukapakapa. Road through the forest is fun. Just watch that route on summer weekends especially long weekends as its full of cops catching all the car and bike clubs that use it for a bit of a blast. Plenty more up north too. There is an old thread on this topic somehwhere here.
  12. Great another guinea pig! I want to go s/c but house renovations hitting the wallet. Would love to see how this turns out as I was thinking of using asc14 at about 8psi aswell. Although I had planned to go aftermarket computer aswell.
  13. So if T/com is going to GSM, then we will be able to use any GSM handset?? That would be awesome as I could finally run both networks from one dual-sim handset. Chorus are a pain. I have to deal with them now for all infrastructure for new subdivisions and they need to be schooled a bit as at the moment what used to take a 5 min fax to telecom takes days to sort out with Chorus. They'll probably get better though.
  14. Old thread, but for some reason keeps popping up on the new posts list??
  15. Yeah - I've been thinking about that for awhile - to go in the FAQ, but never got past the thinking stage. If someone has the time and inclination to do it and post it up as a FAQ, anyone with more info/changes can PM the author.
  16. Give him a call. Keep calm and be reasonable and I'm sure he'll sort you out. If you don't get a happy solution post back here.
  17. Did you take the car or did you just tell him the colour? If you are not happy give Ray a ring - I'm sure he'll do the right thing and either refund you or swap you if he has something else.
  18. Yes, and it may(will?) also handle worse as the springs aren't rated to rebound properly with the extra weight.
  19. Just beware - there are 2 different racks - everything is the same, but the plumbing doesn't quite line up. Can still make it fit, but its easier with the correct one.
  20. I might implement a similar system with my girlfriend....
  21. No, just about 5mins worth till I got bored of laughing my arse off.
  22. Agreed. Closing as almost every recent post contains personal attacks.
  23. If the gearbox and motor are trouble free, then it was a sweet buy. Cheapest on TM at the moment is around $16k. Another $8k on this car would have you a pretty decent e46.
