  1. what wagon have you got Laurence?
  2. They're useless on Northlands pipe clay, but they go hard in the swamps and not too bad on rock. My mate has them on his hilux - we give him sh*t about them making it look like a golf cart, but just josh'n'. I've got pirelli scorpions - cheap and the knobbles love the northland clay. Very similar to the BF Goodrich Wrangler M/T but better sidewalls (not to be confused with Goodyear Wrangler A/T's) Seen some simex extreme trekkers go hard too.
  3. The new motorway extension from orewa to waiwera tunnnels is going to be a toll road. It is going to be automated with number plate reading cameras - been in the paper a few times now.
  4. personalised plates are cunning bastards. Putting the stop on these for copyright infringement. Load of bollocks. The new toll cameras on the northern motorway extension are going to catch a few people with these plates I'd say.
  5. and you can choose to offer to bidders only if you wish.
  6. www.simpower.co.nz They need to know the type of battery and the size of the tabs and distance between the tabs and they'll make you one up. I had them do mine and they do all the batteries for our measuring instruments. Easy to deal with, great service.
  7. Eventually Orcon will also have naked ADSL and mobiles (the latter a spin-off from their merger with Kordia last year), but they are still working on the admin and management side of things as well as negotiating final points with Telecom. Mobiles were supposed to be here around now, but there have been a few hurdles to jump over. Should be good when it all comes together especially considering Orcons track record with data speed and customer satisfaction surveys. At least thats the industry buzz at the moment.
  8. hah - I too found it today. Was about to post it up but thought I'd do a search first...

    Have a laugh

Love the Kawasaki ad - reminded me of this tractor originally posted by shane about this time last year.
  10. No. use google to search for people who have done this before and see how they did it. You are not likely to get sensible answers asking broad questions without doing some research first.
  11. I don't think Gavin checks this too often. Last time I bought a gearshifter off Gavin (z3 short shift) it was only marginally cheaper than the $tealer ($120+ after BS discount) as he has to get in OEM ones. But that was 2 years ago - maybe he can get aftermarket ones now.
  12. Apparently rebuilt bilsteins are sweet and you can have them revalved to suit your springs etc. Contact Chris at Suspension Tech 027-214-5325.
  13. Service station workers are n00bs. At our local servo's we still get our vehicles filled for us by the attendant. I choose not to. I drink at Midas on a Friday night - they have emptied 15 cars filled with the incorrect fuel on behalf of just one servo since last October.
  14. The manufacturers specs for box design are like a manufacturer tuned engine - they are a best fit compromise between performance (output) and economy (box size). If you want to calculate your box dimensions specific to your requirements to get the very best out of your sub, and don't mind doing a bit of reading and learning, download WinISD Pro (alpha) or Win ISD Free Beta.
  15. When I go to a busy gas station I fill up and then park the car then walk in to pay - the guy in front does this also. Often I have to tell the attendant which transaction is mine on that pump as he has 2 or 3 on the screen as the shop is so full I managed to beat the guy in front of me to pay while he is trying to find some greasy excuse for something edible from Cafe Bean. You might have been parked there, but bet you it wasn't your fill that was being paid at the time. Tell them to feck off.
  16. I would lower it slightly to remove the unsightly guard gap. Looks really good.

  18. ????? Just kidding. Congrats on the purchase. Our two other young(er) female members are called Emma. Should make for some confusion. Welcome aboard!
  19. BNT machime flywheels.
  20. If you have a good quality power source with decent sized cables, a healthy battery and properly functioning alternator its as one car-audio expert puts it "snake oil". In other words a waste of time and money. But on very high drain systems with too small a power source (alternator/battery/cables) it can be a cheap bandaid fix compared with replacing the above components. Iwouldn't bother unless you have problems later on with dimming headlights and the like.
  21. Been listening to the news lately. The Italian police "busted" a "ring" making fake ferraris out of Toyota MR2's and others. Apparently the buyers knew they weren't buying real ferraris. Where is the problem. There are dozens of mr2's in NZ with kits to make them look like ferraris - some so good that to any except ferrari enthusiasts, you wouldn't notice without very close scrutiny. Where is the problem?? As long as they are being marketed as replicas? Also - took the police long enough to figure it out - these have been available since the 1990's. Some of the comments in the news articles are ridiculous: The cars are being built on production Pontiac and Toyota chassis and bodies - implying that these cars are dangerous. They admit the workmanship is of high quality, yet the vehicles are still dangerous??? I know that it dilutes the ferrari brand in the same way that fake watches and bags do for fashion labels like Louis Vuitton etc, but no more than the "Type R" or "///M" badges are. Just had a final thought - its not as though ferrari can copyright the shape - Lotus tried with the espirit and failed. (Although merc is trying to sue over those a-class and smart lookalikes.) Does that mean I'm in line from BMW for m-kitting my non motorsport e30???
