Yeah, I want one too. Oh, and calm down Em, we still love you, and we feel your pain. :thumb:

That's not your car in the pics aye? I like what they have done though - just the strip. That's my vote anyway.

Oh, I just assumed that since the post was in regards to evans welfare, the touring must be sweet. I mean, how could ryan possibly post evens welbeing but not the tourings.

Just to the left of the headlight control will be one or two switches. If just one, usually only rear fogs wired up, and if you have front fogs installed you need to check they are connected and then buy a switch. If two switches, then you need to check fronts are connected and check fuses and bulbs. Then check switch (either switch plugs on the two switches, or just short the front one out with a short piece of wire.) The car should be going, or the ignition in the "on" position. Also as said, try with your lights on and on high beam. If hooked up in the "driving lights" configuration, they will only work when headlights on high beam, so try all possible combinations of high, low and off.

I hope you're a botanist or arborist because otherwise you really need to get out more. Although I have a sneaking suspicion you're taking the piss.

Oh I'm sure you're right, I just don't want to be the guinea pig. Current diesels are often capable of doing over a million kms before requiring a rebuild. I wonder if the new ones will too. They rev way harder, and so that equals more wear etc. Will be interesting to see how they go.

my remarks were not "side of the road" stuff - they were, "once the ticket is written and what to do" stuff. Which lawyer tells me this sh*t?? My one. He's right. Personal experience.

Thanks ryan - that's exactly what I plan to do. I think it looks good - I like the no-spoiler look too as it is more 'gangsta' whereas the spoiler look is more sporty. Two boot lids - cunning idea, but I wonder how much extra the cost would be. I might have a look on trademe, and do a bit of research at the painters.

There is more than one way, but if I am correct, these ones were done by OLLIE using an airbrush and some sort of paint or coating evenly applied to get the desired darkness.

Since I cannot afford a new BMW I don't have this problem, but i would want to watch these new common rail diesels carefully as they are not old enough to see if they are durable. Most of the high performance diesels have alloy blocks instead of cast steel blocks. The old diesels had these to withstand the high compression etc, the new ones may not be as strong, and they are subject to even more forces as they are pushed as hard as they can be to get the performance. So, hopefully by the time I can afford one they have been tried and tested, because if they are durable, I would definately buy the diesel over the petrol.

Sorry to hear that - give him a big bmsport holla and a get well soon. Broken fingers = ouch plus lack of typing skillz = ghey.

I have a mate who wants one, but he wants a "brand name" one for looks, so if anyone is organising a group buy I'm in.

I agree re: the height thing although it looks pretty high anyway since it's stock height. I was gonna paint and clear coat, not powder, but your prob right about cost.
-
Cheers. Didn't think the car was anyway, but now I know something new.

haha nice one sic. It's always the case. If you talk to criminal defence lawyers (lawyers who defend criminals, although I'm sure the ARE criminals themselves half the time) you find that a lot of cases can be got off on technicalities where the police haven't followed proceedure 100% or paperwork isn't properly filled out. I know of people (been told by a lawyer, don't know them personally) who have gotten off DIC convictions because they were not given ten full uninterrupted minutes to decide whether or not they wanted an evidential blood test (which is what the law requires they be given). And there are plenty more escape wholes too. The problem is the cost to hire the lawyer = very expensive. Lawyers are cheap if you get off and you were guilty (i.e. worth the money) but very expensive if you are innocent. and then you might not get off anyway. Know from personal experience that the justice system can be unfair in alot of situations. The moral of the story - if you have the cash, you can quite often get off convictions if you have a good lawyer, and are lucky enough to get a busy cop who rushes the paperwork.

Auction here. Claimed to be a genuine m325i, but has had a manual conversion - I didn't think m325's came out in autos? Please educate me if I'm wrong.

You don't even close your windows when you park on the main street for over an hour nathan ( Wednesday) so I'm not surprised.

No there aren't many. A year or two ago when they got the new 5-er diesel in, the BMW spokesperson said to expect a slow increase of diesel models in NZ. They previously hadn't been brought in as NZers perceived diesels to be smelly, noisy and dirty and they didn't sell. Also, the new diesels couldn't run very well on our high-sulphur diesel. But, with the new diesel, and a change in peoples perceptions, expect an increase in diesel models hitting our shores.

Yeah, When I moved to Aux I bought a Navara ute. Thrashed that thing round the city. Parked on the grass, no tickets, parked in middle of CBD all night, no scratches, no break ins even though it had really awesome sounds, got driven into the back of four times in two yeas, and never any damage to the ute, but pretty serious damage to the f**kwits who drove into me. Move to the country, bought a bimmer and sold the ute - go figure!

Thanks for the positive comments. Re: the spoiler - I was just gonna drill them as they are too small for a chassis punch, and even if they are perforated I'll prob still drill to minimise paint chip/crack. Would love to see what it looks like with it on and still have the option to remove it. Only cost me $30 plus it needs prep work and paint, so if cheap enough, I'll just get it done and decide when its painted. tim - Yeah the old wheels were too much and had to go.

That was the idea, and part of the reason I didn't tell anyone what I planned to do as I thought it was a f'n good idea, but now I don't know whether or not to do it, I have to spill.

True - if you look carefully at the right hand end of the black writing under the red signwriting you can see a dent - that was caused during that trip although I'm a little embarrased to say it was a rubbish bin in a Supermarket carpark in Nelson, the only thing we broke offroad was the winch shear pin which was a real bastard as it was next to impossible to fix in the mud and water, but we managed and carried on.
-
Yeah, the jeep's pretty unstoppable, but no winch and no lockers, so we can't take it out by itself - it needs a rescue vehicle just in case, but rarely needs it. Have had water in the white landcruiser up to the bug catcher on the bonnet, and got stuck not long after the first pick was taken in about 4 degree C water up to the signwriting. By the time we winched out my forgotten cellphone on the floor was drenched (water leaked in UP the drain holes in the doors), and I was frozen as I was the lucky sod who had to go swimming to find the winch. Don't head down south much, but plan on going to the national 4wd day at clevedon whenever it's on this year so I'll buzz ya then.

Another day at work, this time at a farm after we got it muddy, notice you can't read the plate, and the headlights are totally covered. And it pisses me off that I can only find these "lame" ones - I'll make an effort to get decent pics next wknd. Edit: The ugly guy standing next to the truck is my assistant (or as we say in the biz chainman) Brent.
