Use some photoediting software to resize the pics first. irfanview or gimp are two good free ones. Also, don't write in capitals - it is the online equivalent of shouting and therefore very rude.
  2. Funny, but I do agree with m325i's comments - a new interface would be nice.

    Dumb WOF Question

The ph number of the guy with the fogs is 094210897 or 0211625615. Ring him and see if he still has them. They were F/L fogs.

    Day light saving.

Don't forget to untick the "Is daylight savings in effect" box under board options in your personal bimmersport options or else all of the posts will have the wrong time. Agreed CaM.
  5. True, but that comment really applies to those who let it lapse because they are lazy, poor, or stupid, not those who purposely let it lapse because the car is in storage, or be worked on for some months as is the case with mine.

    0-200 km/h

Still under 5sec 0-100, not overly shabby.
  7. Yeah, Peter was telling me about the RHD conversion - I had a look, and they did an awesome job. Can't tell at all. Not too sure what Peter paid for it - I don't tend to ask as it's not like i can afford to buy one myself, but I would have to make an edjucated guess of around the $60k plus - maybe as much as $70k.
  8. Damn I was hoping for some nws pics  lol - nah, quite cool actually, but I could never justify the expense of the models whilst my car is sitting there begging for mods.

    How quick?

Not sure, but 15 flat would mean that it would beat a new Commodore or Falcon in a straight line. cool. :mosh:

Cool cabby man! What you need all those tourigns for? Lemme see - profile = Male, middle aged - prob late forties, kids, some have left home, but not all, dogs, prob nice house in a nice area with lots of trees (prob near a beach) but not too nice if you know what I mean (i.e. somewhere near the mill, but not too much more coz got kids remember) and still working, but really wanting to retire. If I'm right how do I know? - damn you got some tourings! Oh, and the X5 is a tip off too. This psycho-analysis was brought to you by bravo - psyco the-rapist extraordinairre!
  12. Yeah, thinking of trucking it in when it goes, or getting my mechanic to drive it in (might make a difference). But is is a bit gay. Although, I didn't just let the reg expire of course - it is on hold.

    Tyre Choice

Interesting - I was going to put michelins on my car, but won't now. Gus - I get "hookups" from a mate up here, but that just brings the Northland price down to about the same as regular price in Auckland, so no real saving, but at least I don't have to drive to aux or whangaz for tyres anymore. :thumb: And whilst we're on about price, you auckland guys can stop your baby-whining about fuel prices, we are up over the $1.30 up here already without the April 5c yet.

    E30 M3

And they may change the rules before then. Not worth the risk - a friend has looked at this. They did it last year by exporting a car to aussie and then importing back, and it worked, but decided not worth the expense to do again. If you know someone in shipping maybe you could do it without it actually leaving the shore, or just get someone to take it outside the 12 mile limit, but you would still have to fabricate documentation showing it coming from some other country - hard and risky.
  17. On this note, what is the story if your car has been off the road for some months (like mine) wof and reg has expired and you need to take it to town to get wof and reg. My understanding is you can't get reg if no wof, and so would have to drive it without both to the testing station. Now presumably you would book it in first so that you could prove to the cop you had a booking, but aa areshole cop aould make things difficult I guess, and probably make you miss your warrant booking?? i.e. If I was driving my unwarranted, unregistered car to the testing station and went through the penrose stop, could they book me? Just a hypothetical as I will be doing this soon.

    placid e36 on trademe

Not my idea of a cool street car, but not every bimmer has to be what I have started to call the "bimmersport view for bimmers". Quite a cool and different track car with loads of potential - promotional vehicle is an obvious choice, or the very beginnings of a drag car. I mean, if the guy had ripped up an M3 to do it I'd be a bit annoyed, but it was just a plane-jane, boring, stocker e36. (No offence to drivers of stock bimmers such as myself, but be honest - they are not exactly rare vehicles yet). I say - big-ups for for effort.
  19. Saw this today. The owner works with a close frind of mine. We were in aux for the edgefest, and so went round to the owners place in Whangaparoa for coffee and M3 drooling on the way back up north. Very, very nice car. BMWCC members will prob already know (ans as said by Andrew above), but it is an '89 EVO 2, only done 77k miles, and is one of the ravaliga (sp?) special editions (only 37 made of this particular model). It is in pretty much concors condition, and is an absolute honey of a car. Also, like Andrew said, he has a FL South African E30 with the 2.7 Alpina engine and M3 airbox, and all usual Msport addons like kit and LSD. Also has been lowered on bilsteins. Has a 5-stud conversion and today was running some 16" black weaves with Dunlop Formula R semi-race tyres in preparation for track day at Taupo - also a very nice car with only a couple of supermarket dings detracting from it being top cond. Still a real minter though. Also races a friends 635 in targa, has an e36 touring as a daily driver and a couple of particularly rare mini cooper S's (old shape). Didn't go for a ride in any of them, but will attempt to jack that up at some stage once I have met the guy more than once. Just thought I'd skite on here, and believe me, if I'm lucky to get a ride in the m3, I'll let you know. Would have got some pics, but all of the activity on my phone at edgefest meant that the batt had died, and so no camera.
  20. **heaps on the sarcasm** Oh - there is a search option? Tell me more about this "search". Cheers - will do.
  21. Just remember quality is much more important than quantity.
  22. I don't really care. If he's guilty, hang 'im. if he's not, leave the poor bastard alone. Other than that, who gives a brass razoo (the alleged victims and their families aside).
