Now the newest deleted member. When you guys see these can you please PM one of the Admin (Andrew, Ollie, Josh aka Hybrid, or I) so we can delete them. We aren't always able to read every thread, so could potentially not know about it until after they've had a chance to spam you guys with hundreds of PMs.

It's about half that price from Amazon.com. Worth every cent. The first time you DIY something properly without having to go to the mechanic it's already paid for itself. It's saved me thousands of dollars over the years - really.

1/ Shortened shocks won't affect your ride height. Springs are the issue. 2/ The cost of a BRAND NEW decent set of quality lowering springs that are low, but not low enough to require a cert will cost less than the price of a cert. Buy some new springs and go get a WOF. I can recommend H&R springs the like of which you can get from our friendly forum sponsor Keith AKA SUSPENSION.

Ditto. When's this weather going to improve so I can stop making excuses and come for a spin in the m5???

lol. Boats were all coastguard's. Navy supplied the chopper. Airforce supplied extra crew and organised it with the local CG unit. PS If you noticed the hp of our new boat change its because I was going off the advertising brochure until I found the build sheet. It was a heap of fun. Only complaint was I'd have happily stayed out there training for a few more hours, but the chopper crew had to disappear after an hour or two so as there was nowhere local to refuel.

I'm a Skipper/Senior crew at Bay of Islands Coastguard. On Tuesday I had the unique opportunity to be involved with a combined exercise with the Navy and Airforce in Whangaroa Harbour up north. Was an interesting exercise and got to practise a lot of skills that we don't get to practise all that often. Thought some of you may like to check out a vid one of our crew made. The Helo is one of the Navy's Seasprites. The boats are various. There were 2 8.5m Rayglass Protectors. One with 300hp, the other with 400hp four stroke yamahas. There was a 8.5m Naiad with 350HP of 2-stroke mercuries. There was a 9m 500hp AMF, and then a smaller 6m vessel that I can't recall what it was. Can't wait till we get our new boat in September - 10.2m Naiad with 650hp twin jets.

I don't know for sure, but I think the BlueAnt ones will work.

That guy has obviously spent time in India.

I'd do the required maintenance/ rebuild. You could keep the 2.7 or you could rebuild as a 2.8 (prob worth looking into if you are doing a full rebuild). There's info on the site here about how to go about that. I'd look at a lumpier cam, and maybe some minor head work (port/polish) but the heads flow fairly well from stock. A decent set of equal length headers, a cold-air intake, and a decent dyno tune nad you'd have a strong, reliably, fun combination without spending the sort of money a boosted setup would require.

Thanks to Heath for pointing this out to me. I usually get all the updates from Land Transport, but somewhere along the line I missed this one. The Land Transport Amendment Bill No. 4 went through it's final reading and was passed into legislation in late June. It comes into force in December this year. Search www.legislation.govt.nz for details. "Highlights" Drug driving will now be subject to roadside testing. Failure of the roadside test will give the Police powers of arrest, and you will be required to undergo a blood/urine test. Failure will result in a drug-driving charge carrying the same penalties as drink-driving. Use of prescription drugs with a current prescription issued by a qualified doctor will constitute a valid defence. There are changes to vehicle registration laws. Most of the changes relate to privacy in regard to release of vehicle owners details, and to the better recording of owners details so that owners can be tracked down for fines more readily. But the change that will get you all talking involves registration plates. The first and most exciting change is that Personalised Plates are now no longer the only company that will be able to issue personalised plates. The new s259 in Part 17 of the act changes the previous law (Section 9 of the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986) to now allow "(1) The Registrar may, after consulting with the Minister, enter into a contract to authorise a person to sell or otherwise dispose of the exclusive right to 1 or more letters or numbers, or a combination of both, allocated in accordance with regulations made under this Part for use on personalised plates. “(2) Nothing in subsection (1) limits the number of contracts that may be in force under this section at any given time (whether in respect of the same or different letters or numbers or combinations of both)." At this stage there are not any other companies to my knowledge with contracts, and any that do start up will likely have prices not too dissimilar to P-Plates, however it would probably stop the ever increasing price ladder. That's the good news. The bad news is that the new laws clarify the outlaw of german or (facsimile) plates and give the police the power to seize and destroy your german plates on the roadside. So its a bit of a mixed bag really. Discuss if you want.

Which part of the bracket is it? I have part of a bracket but need to know if this is the part I need or the part I have. PS mine is actually a 320i bracket part, but I believe that these are interchangeable with all m20-engined cars. In all seriousness though, we're a sad bunch finding this sort of thing amusing! PPS The category that the auction is in probably gives some clue as to what bracket it is....

No worries Nathan. Lance - yes please! I won't be bringing the 4x4 now - just realised the rego is due and don't feel like spending $400+ for diesel rego on a vehicle I'm probably not going to drive for a few months. I'll bring the MR2 over for a fang on the twisties.

Item 2 in the pic: Someone must have an old one lying around they don't want. Thanks.

Theres a similar 525i touring in kerikeri. I quite like e34 tourings as station wagons go.

Teenagers - 4 different cell phones. Although Chrisworth is just as bad....

This. Looks like a hole with a slot in it just below the latch under the bonnet in front of the car. Put the screwdriver in the slot and twist.

These are awesome. Look much better in person, and have m3 under pinnings and m3 motor - all the m3 extras. Very fast. There was a dark-coloured on e in Dunedin when I used to live there about 10 years ago. Looked hot!

You can't make them clear. They are orange plastic as Nathan points out.

I like how you have blurred out all your porn folder shortcuts on your desktop! If you use american date format it occurred last month. If you use reverse date format it occurred in 2007, and isn't it interesting - we write the time hours minutes seconds (largest unit of measure to smallest) but the reverse for the date. 08/07/06 05:43:21 YY/MM/DD HH:MM:SS would make for a more interesting date? (Which as it happens is my birthday last year)

3Pedals is correct in that using the flushing machine does the best job possible. But as with most of these things, if you DIY and do it thoroughly it'll do a fair job and is 1000 times better than not doing it at all. I own a 20yo car. A secondhand rack costs less than two professional flushes. I'd rather do it myself and if my rack wears prematurley because of it, too bad. That said, I'm getting lazy these days and have been thinking about paying someone to do my maintenance for me. If you're working, it ends up easier in the long run.
