You really do have a thing about older cars don't you Graham? It's almost a complex!

A mate replaced his brake discs to try and fix a squeal but it wasn't the problem. His old discs (which are as far as I know fine and not that old) are going free to a good home or are being thrown out. Pick up in Manurewa.

Haha nice dragon Brendon. Very homo. About tiume this project kicked off again. Awesome.

Stud pattern and offset of the Momo's. Want some for my MR2. Need 5x 114.3. I really need staggered offsets, but I'd be willing to test fit them if they were ET35.

Nice place, fair rent, good luck.

Aside from the obvious question - how the ------ did you manage to walk away from that much dough when that was the reason for going to the ATM in the first place? Unless its a busy street chances are very good that it'll be back inside the machine. Good luck - have my fingers crossed for you. Dumbass. Bimmersport needs a n00b of the week award.....

Oh, BTW garry, have a 20% warning for good measure. Smarten up.

Old prices, but shouldn't be much different now: PFF5-301 ( 2 per car ) $48.00 + GST each x 2 = $96.00 + GST = $108.00 PFF5-302-19 ( 2 per car ) $39.00 + GST each x 2 = $78.00 + GST = $87.75 PFR5-305 (2 per car ) $81.00 + GST each x 2 = $162.00 + GST = $182.25 PFR5-306 ( 4 per car- 2 x inner 2 x outer) $57.00 + GST each x 4 = $228.00 + GST = $256.50 PFR5-308-12 ( 2 per car ) $39.00 + GST each x 2 = $78.00 + GST = $87.50 PFR5-300 ( 1 per car ) $60.00 + GST = $67.50

You realise that putting 18's on your car won't affect the height? If you currently have the correct size wheels and tyre, and you put the correct size tyres on the 18's the height won't change. You're not allowed to change to overall size by more than 5% from factory so it won't matter a damn. That's why you'll run low-profiles- so the overall size is the same. The noise law has already been passed and I posted at least one thread about it when t came into force. If they do a subjective test and "think" it's too loud they can order you to go and have an objective test at VTNZ at your cost (not cheap - think a few hundred) and find out. And they can make you re-do it every time they suspect you may have changed your exhaust. It's fairly draconian, but that's life.

I'm running the powerflex ones. They were highly recommended to me by overseas e30 modders, and they have been great. They aren't the cheapest, but there is a nz distributor, so at least you can get them locally and they are a really really good product.

It just devalues the industry or profession. It's stupid. They'll drop their price to get work, but ultimately they'll either go broke or everyone will match their price. So then they'll have to drop it again. If their price is the same as everyone elses, and they put effort into doing a good job - the work will come by itself.

It's not an m325i, but has some of the good bits (leather sports seats, mtech wheel, manual, LSD (if it actually has one). Someone has just put badges on it. I see you asked for an AA report - don't bother getting one. If you are serious about the car, take it to a BMW specialist for a report. The AA guys don't know BMW's as well as a specialist so you don't get value. And that's coming from a 12 year AA member. If its in really good condition, and has been well maintained, I think $5k for a manual F/L 325i is a fair price - a good price even. Has to be fairly mint though.

I'm busy, but the type of work coming in has changed and I'm down to a 2 month backlog from around 6 months. Our competitors (most of whom specialise in one or two fields where as we are much broader) are really feeling it - 4 day weeks, lay offs, etc. The problem is they are now undercutting me. I priced a small job the other day for $800. That was what I thought was a competitive price but with a small margin aswell in case the job turned out more difficult than it appeared (as they always do). Competition quoted $250. I wouldn't even be able to cover wages and vehicle expenses for that. Its shocking when so-called professionals are willing to do work at below cost just so they keep themselves out there and visible. Hopefully it hits them in the pocket enough so they can't keep it up.

They're OK, but easy to not put the pin in properly when you're in a hurry, or you lose the pin and then substitute it for a nail or something which isn't high tensile. They're fine, but if you're going to buy a set I'd recommend ones that don't rely on a wee pin.
-
Licensys (the people that ACTUALLY make the plate) charge about $33 per set. That includes their profit. That should give you an idea of how much it costs to make - a few bucks. The rest of the $800 goes into PPlates coffers. Out of that comes their wages, overheads, maintenance of the website and the plates database with LTNZ, development budget for plate styles, and their huge marketing budget. I'm guessing the majority is still profit.

Love the e21, and 3 gens of 3 series. The z3 is technically e36 chassis, so it could have worked, but a real e36 is better!
-
As long as they are the correct rating, and they are not the ones with a pin to set the height (ie they are fixed height, or ratchet ones) they should be fine.

It's a good issue. I'm a subscriber. There was an e30 m3 article last year, one on cossies last month that I passed on to Chris, mr2's a few months before (I have one), and I'm trying to find my copy of the issue with the Peugeot hatches in it for Heath. There was a good article on Mazda RX's not so long ago, and also on R32 GTR skylines. There's always an e30 series update with photographs. It's a well balanced, well put-together magazine, and the columnists are level-headed and make sense. I would vote for any of them for the next Transport Minister.
