    Magazines

I have a pile of old magazines I'm sicking of shifting everytime I move. All of them are in as-new cond. If someone is interested I will list precise details but basically: FFWD (Technology/Home Audio mag): 8 or 9 issues from '03/'04 BMW Magazine NZ Issue from 2008 I think Performance car - 1 or 2 issues from the past couple of years Classic Car - Almost every Issue from the past 2-3 years I think. NZ Top Gear - Every Issue from last year and some from previous year. Plus first ever issue. And probably others. I just want someone who is going to get some enjoyment out of them to take the lot. I'll take a box of beer if you think they're worth it, otherwise free. Pickup only, or I come to AKLD now and again. If there are no takers I'll take them to the Dr.'s Surgery. Edited to remove a couple I've decided to keep, and add a few I found.
  2. Yes you can use your sky dish. Yes you can use sky at the same time. On either your sky decoder or your freeview decoder or both there will be an IF loop connector. This is the "aerial out" which goes from one decoder to the other. Edit: or you can buy a splitter that plugs into the main aerial feed if you cannot get the loop to work or your decoders don't have them. I do the first option at my house as both decoders sit side by side, but my parents do the second as they have decoders in different parts of the house, and do not want to run a daisy chain of decoders through the house - they have a splitter in a central location in the ceiling which then feeds all of the boxes round the house.

The only problem with KB's awesomeness is that he's normalised it, and he's gonna have to keep inventing crazier things to do to keep the punters hooked. Wicked though.

  6. James, have you seen the black e63 in Kerikeri? I started seeing it now and again, but lately I've been spotting it at least once or twice a week, so must be a local car?

Cheers everyone! No secrets when you're on Facebook huh? I've been a member here coming up 5 years and managed to keep my birthday secret all this time. I appreciate the kind wishes. Unfortunately I'm working today, but having a soiree on Saturday to celebrate and let my hair down. Nathan - keen for a beer tomorrow. Will PM you tomorrow. Heath - I love the pirate pic. I actually HAVE wenches so it's fairly apt. I WISH my beard was that orange! Simon - I love that call - made me lol, although I've been toying with the idea of shaving it recently. Cheers again.

    Vinyl Cutters

Wintopo I use it to convert scanned plans or similar to AutoCAD dwg's, but you can use it for all sorts of things.

    Vinyl Cutters

On that note, there's free raster-vector conversion software on the web if you need it.

    Vinyl Cutters

If it's just some small jobs why not pay a signwriter. I've found that their prices are very reasonable for cutting a bit of vinyl to shape.
  11. Yeah, you spun yours at the traffic lights instead....

  15. How much is the ipod cable and where could I get one from? Can you change the button lights to orange/red to match BMW interior. Am getting an ipod and my current Alpine doesn't have the ipod control.

    E30 Line Up

Nice work fellas! There's not all that may Exiges in the country compared to Elises, but the Exiges are most likely to be found hanging around race tracks, so.... I saw a very nice Exige undergoing a rebuild the other day. Makes me want an Elise (more my price range lol). I'd love to have been there to here your Lexus howling Riley...

    Parking Hitlers

I agree with what you say, but in regard to point number 2.: All areas with free access to the public are considered public road for the purposes of issuing traffic infringements (it's enshrined in law - I can find the exact section of the applicable act if you need proof). In other words its possible to get DIC'd in a supermarket carpark for example. Edit: Decided to look it up anyway. Most offences relate to an offence on a "road". Road is defined in the act thus: (Note (d) especially - this means it includes public carparks, parks, schools, Service Lanes, Right's of Way that are for public use and so on.)
  18. I just removed mine. Engine noise is louder, but only just. Best way to remove the old stuf is with a plastic spatula/burger flipper, and a vacuum cleaner - saves you getting bits of it all over your engine bay. Leaves behind the glue residue, but you can either put up with that (looks better than ratty foam) or clean it off - requires patience - or buy replacement foam once someone tells you where to get it. Maybe some sort of car-audio dynamat product would do the job as long as it's safe for high-temp applications?
  19. Took the words out of my mouth Gavin!
  20. I'll take the orange Exige Sport in the background.... Mimicked on the new Hommage M1 concept I love this^^^^^ but, I prefer this version:
  21. Talk to Graham (Apex). Shelley (m325is) may do it too, but I'm not sure.
  22. Yep. He's been rocking the e36 cabby a bit lately aswell. And I see Alison every day in the 328i Touring on her way to/from work.

    MP3 Player

Yes, what can be more simple than drag and drop???? And I'm advocating choice. I'm not saying do away with itunes. Include it on the installation CD or whatever, make it the default, and many users will use it, but if all you want to do is plug your ipod in and drag some tracks over, this should work also - straight out of the box?? Since when has ANY other Apple product required you to go through a series of installations and updates to get it working - that sounds more like Microsoft's style. Everything else Apple is plug and play. What if I want to put some tracks on from a different PC? I have to go through the rigmarole of installing everything and loading the latest updates again!!! All I fricken want to do is drag 2 tracks over! (for instance). That is not simple. I'm not sure how you justify your position defending software that is actually opposing much of the ethos of Apple and its products. Not that it matters. I bet there are thousands of happy itunes users, and there seem to be 3rd-party alternatives.
