  1. I crawl into drives etc and my sump guard gets a hammering. I drive on backroads for fun, and my sump guard gets a hammering. I painted it before I went and got my cert and it got new scrapes on the 90km trip to the cert shop. I daren't take it off. The SA ones are what I have -I drilled speed holes in mine as I decided it was too heavy. Saved 1/8th of f-all in weight, but looks totally fuh raze now. I don't think your car will have the 2x mounting holes in the front x-member, or 4x mounting studs on the chassis, so I guess you'll have to have them put in by an egineering shop.
  2. If you're going to paint them, gunmetal grey. I love time attack, but not on those ACS's. If you like the m3 rims, Sam doesn't have any. Too common. But this means there are a set (or reps) on TM every 5 mins. Wonder how a set of ACS Type IV's would look? Awesome I think.
  3. +1 to IC location etc, and WTF is up with the rear offset. Awesome idea - poor execution. D-
  4. So basically you're wishing you lived in a Cadbury ad. Problem is, if that were true, after a few years you wouldn't be able to get guys anymore because the chocolate would make your asses fat.
  5. Some cars do have heated door locks for that reason. Real OEM
  6. She used to have a e30 but put it into a tree...
  7. I think you'll find it's Betelguese pronounced Beetle juice. No idea about the other one.
  8. cool, now resize it and do it again - too big dude!!!!!
  9. You've got to love Morgan doing what Morgan does so well.
  10. I love peer pressure. We broke down a few of the SLABS at the last Wellsford cruise and got them convinced they needed real suspension, we managed to turn Brook around pretty fast, and now the forum's biggest chrome fan comes to a meet and next day this. Awesome.
  11. Clean as! I've always had a soft spot for golfs.
  12. It was a good one!!! Sorry, two...
  13. I'll tell you how for sedan/coupe and you can see if its the same for touring. Remove the seat cushion by popping it off the clips at the front and lifting out (clips are very robust so don't worry about breaking them). Look down on either side of the seat back and under a small flap is a 10mm nut holding the bottom of the seat back to the car. Pull the bottom of the seat back slightly toward you then push it up firmly to lift it off its retaining tabs (once again these are fairly robust) Hopefully tourings don't have anything else the coupes/sedans don't have in this regard.
  14. I'm going to hand in the plates next week and de-register this, but if someone needs a shell still on the system, here's your chance. It's daimantschwarz metallic, 1990 320i which has been in a serious frontal. Front end is a mess and the passenger side has a bent unibody as there is a small ripple in the roof. Would need a chassis straighten and a front cut in my opinion. If I can have any parts off it I want (most are gone already although interior is more or less still intact) then you can have it for free. If there is no interest I'll de-register it, and when I'm finished using it for parts I'll sell it for scrap.
  15. Its not mtech at all David (4-door for a start) - doubt it even has LSD. I would check - maybe it does, but maybe they just think it does.
  16. Needs some tlc, or maybe just very bad pics. Those are the 16" version of my wheels - BBS RB reps made by speedy wheels in Australia. It is not mtech as you well know, just some (rather cheap looking) aftermarket parts. I think it may be a South African car - has some of the extras (leather, cruise control), but not others (obc, and can't tell if it has the long-range tank but I think it might), and has the LTNZ VIN plate rather than the vin stamped under the windscreen.
  17. Hah - I love how everyone who has yet to do a manual conv on their bimmer says - the car has heaps enough power for the auto - a manual would be nice, but the auto performs well and is sooo easy in traffic. Then they finally get around to going manual and all you hear is MANUALMANUALMANUAL!!!!! There is something about going from auto to manual which really cements the experience more than just having a manual from the get-go. I'm with Glenn on engine choices -choose the newest engine which can be easily sourced and fitted, and get the biggest capacity of that model engine. Do it once, do it right.
  18. You mean too. Brian and any others, as Incary says, if you get a PM or email from someone you don't know here are some obvious pointers it is spam: The username will be one you havn't seen on the forum before. If it has already been spotted by admin it will be from "Deleted User" The number of posts the user has made will be zero or very few. The subject will be non-comittal, generic, or not make sense. Ditto with the message text. There will be a link that you are encouraged to click. If you hover your mouse over the link without clicking the address appears at the bottom left of your browser window. Do not click on links that have addresses that are not obvious what sort of site it is, or end in less-common domain codes like .ru etc DO NOT CLICK, just delete the message.
  19. Thanks, I noticed - 40's are correct size, but 45's are legal.
