  1. I was reading the E30 owners manual tonight and read that the 80k to 120k in 4th was 9.1 secs for a 325i 5 speed non sport. This is a great way to test your car out for any performance gains as it eliminates a good or bad start etc. So I went for a drive, full tank, 1 person, flat road, no wind(Private road of course) . Using the timer on the trip computer I got 7.2, 7.4, 7.8(slight uphill), 7.3, 7.1. Not wanting to promote speeding but just wondering how that compares to other 325's out there? Now don't be an ass and do this on a busy road or concentrate so hard on the stopwatch that you drive into a hedge! Just get to constant 80 in 4th and floor it till 120.

    BMW Alpina's

Any pics of the E30 C2.5?
  3. I'm not sure what I'll be putting back in yet, a decent cd head unit, the pioneer 6x9s in the back, boston componants in the front but not sure about amps etc. Who has a picture of 6x9s in the rear of their E30? Do you have them on spacers or have you taken the angle grinder to the car? I'm thinking spacers!
  4. Just removed all this from the car in the weekend it must weigh quite a lot! It was a really rough install (by the previous owner), so i thought it would be better taking it all out and starting over.
  5. So does it also fit around mtec 2 spoilers?
  6. Now how did I do that? Two posts in one go!
  7. Well I picked up the new car last night, went to get in this morning and had a flat tyre, then I checked the boot and there is no jack. So if anyone in Chch has one they want to sell, let me know. I'm also after the big panel cover under the steering column that hides all the wires and the top of the pedal box. Also new boot carpet and boot battery cover. Photos of the car to follow soon!!

    E21 323i

I see my old 323i is for sale again, quite a tidy little car for it's age. E21 323i
  10. I had a LHD 70's E21 parts car but it has gone now. Had the rear bumper, grill etc. But I think it has been crushed, sorry. If you want some more info on the E21 have a look at this link. E21 BMW Sounds like fun a 2.5 in a E21. Post up those pics
  11. Yeah it was sold new as a SE auto with the only added options being rear centre armrest and OBC. (According to UK records). No LSD either. I drove the car last weekend and it didn't go too bad but didn't feel alot quicker than the 325i. (220bhp?) It has gazillions of stone chips and the bonnet paint is all crazed. The rest of the car has a few scrapes and dings. The carpet and front seat have tears in it and it has a rough stereo install with sub cables running to the boot along the transmission tunnel on the outside of the carpet and across the back seat. The rear speakers are "sitting" in the original speaker holes. Brake discs feel warped and are very noisy. It feels well used but I guess it's an old car. Couldn't see any rust but who knows what is hiding under that body kit. I think his bottom dollar is $12k. So too expensive for me at that price in that cond.
  12. So what would this one be worth then roughly? E30 Mtech 2.8 I have seen the car and it is in average cond.
  13. Sweet!! (shame about some of those big ass bumpers)

    1973 Fiat 128

Yeah go the Fiats!! There is a 128 SL coupe on trade me at the mo. 130hp (so he claims) and these things only weigh around 800kgs.
  17. Yeah fair call, I guess I would judge any car on it's merits. Do you know of any for sale?
  18. I'd be suprised to see a manual jap import and some of the ones I have seen have a cat converter also I'd be skeptical about the kms. Uk imports are fine. Also it would be best to pm me the details if you find one otherwise someone else is bound to buy it and you won't get the cash. Thanks.
  19. Yeah only if I buy it. Also I should have said that it doesn't include links to trade me if a good one turns up on there. As I keep a fairly close eye on that. Cheers
  20. I have been looking for a E30 325i for ages, but haven't had any luck yet so I thought if I put up a little incentive a suitable one may just turn up. So even if you put a note under a windscreen wiper if you see a suitable one it's still easy money. This is what I want: -Must have list: 4 door (even a wagon) , 5 speed, elec windows, facelift model (1988-1990ish) very tidy cond, don't want a mega mileage one or Jap import. -Would like list: Sport seats, OBC, towbar, service history, sunroof, Mtech steering wheel, LSD (I know I'm dreaming) Colour in order of preference: Silver, Charcoal, Black, Red, White, Blue... Champange(least fav). Budget: Up to $10000, but more like $5000 for what I want (It would have to have everything and be perfect for 10k) If you can find or put me in contact with a suitable car that meets my requirements and that I end up buying then the $100 will be yours, so start looking. I am in Chch so I will need a least a ph number to ring, but I am willing to travel to see the right car. Thanks for looking.
  21. Hi, I had one of these as my 1st car and they are great fun. 1970 with 5 speed, dohc, twin carbs, 4 wheel discs and they seat 4 people. Yip they rust but the engines are great. Alot of fiat parts are interchangable between models which is cool. Price wise they are getting a tad pricey but you should get a good one for around $4k-$5k. Also you will have to decide whether you want an AC, BC or CC series. I prefer the AC, BC, but there is a lot of discussion which is the nicer. Have a look at this link. http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=28929 P.S: I think the 323i has sold.
  22. I've had a few checked at GAC in Chch. he charges $70 for a check and knows his e30s well. Has saved me from buying one dud. A few years ago when I was selling my 325i someone took it to chch BMW and they were finding things wrong like: oil leaking from front shocks when they had been replaced with gas shocks a couple of months earlier! Also things like ripped gear lever gaitor! Perhaps a bit too thorough on a 1986 car! I am holding out for a really tidy 4 door 5 speed, which seem to be like hens teeth. The m325i looks nice but I need a 4 door. There is a m325i for sale down here, 1986 240kms for $8900 ono sounds tidy.
  23. What the heck there hasn't been one of these ads for at least a week! I'm seriously after a facelift 325i 5 speed in excellent cond. Prefer a 4 door with all the goodies. If you have one of these or know of one for sale please let me know. Also check out my e21 323i for sale. Thanks
