pffft i only dont use mine because they dont work, and i only speed sometimes because the speedo dosent work, its true! actully it is, only stops working when i clean the car or it rains, dam leaking car

well thats easy, your rev counter and temp gauge are broken most likely to do with the battery on the SI board playing up, or check the fuses http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Fuse_Box that site has what all the fuses relate to

325i uses getrag 260 gearbox, 318i and 320i use same gearbox but with different bellhousing so you wont be able to swap between the two if the 320i trans did fit the 318i engine you would need a 318i drive shaft, but that's me being hypothetical i would personally get the 325i then try get a getrag 260 gearbox then goto a pick'a'part place and get what else is needed like pedals ect, but i haven't had to do this as my car was already manual. Also im pretty sure you cant contact sellers during the fixed offer phase, just accept then if there is nothing wrong with the car, its all good, if there is something wrong they did not state, just complain its not what they made it out to be.

nah, selling off all my dad's old TR and Rover stuff which should give me a few k to spend on the car next on the list are tires/rear brake swap and pads all round/new vacuum lines/mounts for radiator and cold air box then it should be done for January

my gearbox whines hard, sounds like i got a turbo or something from a few meters back is only does it when the clutch is out and its in neutral. you checked to see if its not leaking gearbox fluid, as that would cause more friction i guess? well thats what i traced the problem too and a little top up got rid of most of the noise.

haha i had this problem the other day, all gauges worked except speedo and indicators, this was right after doing some heaving engine breaking and locking the rears, took the plug off and on and it worked, same with the indicators, weirdest thing ever.

got a second hand radiator off HellBM and that seems to of fixed the cooling problem the new radiator is brand new condition and seems to be alot,ALOT hotter than the old radiator, i think the problem with the old radiator was that it was just crap at releasing heat

nah apparently there are 4 different 320i radiators.

K so after using the new engine ( done 300k) for a bit its started overheating agian, first time it was the thermostat (previous one had broken and about 5c worth of metal missing) and that fixed the problem for 2 weeks, now it overheats to the line to the right of the center then cuts out BUT it only overheats going up hills then cools down it also overheats while in traffic, only works properly when on the open road now me and my father have thought up a few ways this could be happening That small bit of metal is blocking the block somehwere Radiator is crap, it looks pretty abused viscous fan, but open road driving should be enough air flow to stop overheating we havent ruled out hairline crack, but its not loosing oil/water and nor is there any cross mixing and my father says a crack will not cool down it can only get hotter aswell as a crack should get worse over time but this has been a problem for a month now, and im not driving carefully more like trying to kill it but it just wont die any suggestions would be much apreciated i know its not air in the system going to get a new second hand radiator off hellbm tmorrow thanks in advance

Hi im overly bored waking up early this morning and i cant seem to find if the chassis number of my bmw e30 means anything, WBAAA320007436065 is it just a random bunch of letters and numbers? does it represent something like e30 does and you can break it down to factory built ect ect

ipod headphones arn't that bad but because i used to game (counter strike) i have a pair of sennheiser HD555's, there amazing, there stereo headphones that have such good clarity, they can also be used as desktop speakers with no distortion, really anything sennheiser and over $100 is really decent, but in the car i always end up listening to the engine

you can import e30's, since there more than 20 years old, well most of them?????? are they that exspensive overseas? well i guess it would be cheaper to buy one in nz anyway
