Breaking: 2012 BMW F30 3-series Caught Uncovered at Photoshoot!! What a weekend! First spyshots of the new M3, then had the first leak of the Performance Concept 1-series and now this: An eagle eyed tipster managed to take the first (albeit blurry) shots of the new BMW 3-series sedan (F30). From what can be seen in those photos it will be a very handsome and evolutionary design. The front appears sporty yet elegant and -- to the relief of many -- the headlights are sleeker and smaller compared to the F20 1-series. The rear clearly shows a family resemblance to the F10 5-series, yet the rearlights are somewhat different at the outer edges to make for a unique look. As with the F20, the side turn indicators are now integrated into the mirros. There appears to be some badging at the front quarter panel where the side indicators used to sit. This makes us believe that BMW will introduce design lines for the new 3-series as well. The F20 1-series is available with Urban and Sport design lines, we expect the F30 3-series to sport similar design lines. The exterior color seen here is called Mineral Gray. The interior of this particular car seems to be grey or beige. Interestingly, both dashboard and steering wheel have the same color. BMW actually seems to be repeating its past with their fully colored interiors of past days (also seen on F30 long wheel base prototypes meant for China). These shots also show that Head Up Display will finally make its way to the 3-series, as well as the free-standing iDrive screen following the design scheme introduced with the F12/3 6-series. F30 begins production in November 2011. The 2012 Model Year will run until June 2012, upon which point it will switch to the 2013 Model Year. Sales will begin in Europe around the time of its world public premiere at the 2011 Geneva show - in March, 2012. US sales should begin next Spring. maybe have a check on some toyota forums or have a look at an oem option. -
If you do it properly, some quite good gains can be made. Longer runner = more power down low shorter runners = more power up high at the expense of bottom end power. Usefull for cars with more agressive cams, a higher flowing head etc. If you go around buggering around with the plenium decreasing or increasing volumes and creating unbalanced zones in the plenium what you speak of will obviously happen. pretty cool man, some pissing around on the dyno and trying different designs with your educated guesses im sure will yield good results. At the end of the day, its gonna sound badass

E39 Android system will be released soon

They should just look at ditching the CD tray input for this version as I dont know to many people you still use CD's on a daily basis. SD card is fine for most. With the CD gone that would give them the room to center and make the screen bigger and utilise the font space a bit better. I think this is why the e39 version world wide just hasnt done very well. -
Good to hear about the change side of things from people.. Im not going to guarantee it will look similar but the same mentality of simple and fast / clean will apply.

He means this. standard 16:9 dynavin with gap at top. -
Yeah thats one Ollie didnt want to let go of this last time. Mainly because it made the front page look a bit average but I agree entirely, sites are fairly easy to code to work of percentages not lock widths. Wide screens are the norm these days so it will most likely be percentage based this time around.

Hey guys, Cheers for the feedback so far. Keep it coming. The forum software is being updated to the latest version so is the content management system. The forum will also have a graphical overhaul, however im keen to keep things on the simple vibe as well. Will be looking to step the look up a bit more in time with newer sites. Good thing is the current software has an 'auto detect' when you first vists so it will load the approprite format to suit. You can always go back with this mode however.

Good to know! I will expect 35k out of mine which for me hopefully will be 2 years.

Hey guys, I would like to start up a topic about the long over-due website redesign. We are currently looking into this and would like to open the floor to you guys for feature requests. If we can keep it on topic to thoughtful features and requests would be great. We have some in mind and obviously all the usual stuff. Some of whats planned. Video embedding Proper smartphone support Updated basic forum functions Graphical overhaul Cheers

ok cool.. Not like me and my 330 on the 19's then. I only got about 2025k out of them too. Lead foot. Things have changed a little bit in the 5er. So looking for a nice 30k+ which it sounds like they will do. I was checking that the reason a lot of these tire are good is because of a softer compound, Doesnt seem to be the case with high end tires which is good. You certainly pay for what you get I guess and that is amplfied with a heavy car which I obviously have to mindful of.

Cool then 225/35/R17 FK-452's are pretty much what you want, legal and got the look and performance to match. bank on around a grand.
-
low shoulder, low profile eg fk-452's. Tires are make or break as you probably know.

Not so true, the ATS speedcamera is capable of monitoring 'strike' zones and different lanes. They are infact very accurate. They are very easy to setup by a camera operator. This goes the same for redlight camera systems and fixed pole speed cameras. They all use the same software/system.

interesting ... little off topic. But how long did it take for the PS2's to wear down on the rear, also what was your load rating ? 92y etc Im just trying to get a comparison before I sink a couple of k into something that the 5 series will normally eat for breakfast being 1800+kgs

Running the correct spring rate/MC setup will help have the best of both worlds. Firm bite at any rpm yet can be driven in auckland traffic in rush hour.
-
It is possible with your gearbox to cut the bell housing and have a v8 auto one welded on the end. Again a couple of people I know have done this and its not as dodgey as it sounds if done right.
