  1. Andy's open series e30 race car ran a locked diff for some of the season. Didnt work so well on sharper corners. Lost a lot of speed in the corners going sideways when others had traction, even with semi slicks. Great for launching at the start however.

  3. Really love the detail on this build/
  4. Such a hot wee car! before anyone calls me out on cheese for saying this. I reckon some wide thread carbon fiber bits tastefully in the interior would be killer.

  8. It wasn't cheap .. nearly 6 grand. however I now have piece of mind I'm running around in a new gearbox.
  9. all good .. non motorsport 99-01 sedan ... dime a dozen
  10. It's usually worse in summer with heat or when the interior gets hot. Another problem is pushing the remote button so much flattens the battery which amplifies the problem.
  11. I think the main problem is their are so many tacky magpie friendly wheels on sale. In general (not all ), younger people are always going to buy BMW / Merc / Audi etc and put shiny things on them. Its like when your a teenager put too much wax in your hair and turned out looking like sonic the hedgehog. When your a bit younger you always over do it. When I was this age this included me too. I guess for me what make me angry about this... is once they have finished dragging the chassis all over the ground. There goes a perfectly good vehicle to stressed subframe / unibody damage.
  12. You have the same problem. Jump on here and buy the correct central locking relays from the website owner. If your not into doing this yourself. Find an auto sparky and point them at this thread. They will get it pretty quickly how to fix. Total cost will only be about $100 for relays and some time for the sparky to do it. They need to be careful they dont lift the copper tracks on the printed circuit board. As for the key not working anymore ... you would have un-associated the key from the vehicle. follow this thread to fix that. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=19404
  13. The IKE is the bridging point between the KBUS and IBUS. It holds a lot of car specific data that needs to be recoded into the vehicle. A lot of work need to be done to have it 'bedded' into your vehicle.
  14. Had some pretty interesting results running a non standard battery for a year. Thanks to ray / hellbm I switched back to the OEM one and what do your know. My issues disappeared.
  15. Hey guys thanks for the offers ... ended up using the mall valet in the end.
  16. Hey fellas, Down in welly for a funeral .. drove the back ways in the 46 yesterday. Unfortunitly through some road works in yesterdays weather I have most of state highway all over my car. Pretty keen to get the lime off my car. Any wellingtonites know of any 'washworld' (high pressure water blaster self service) type places around? I have search the phone book and other places too no luck. Not interested in the $5 petrol station brush or brushless sandpaper washs thanks. thanks in advance.

Andrew, the sites owner is away at the moment. IPB is payed for software and he has the login for the software upgrade. Sucks at the moment but we have to wait till hes back from overseas. In the mean time just dont click on them and delete it. I delete the user everytime .. however its not ideal
  19. We are working on the problem. Its a IPBoard wide problem. People log in manually to the website and later use it for spam using a script.
  20. put it this way, I'd own a m3 CSL and another e46 m3 by now.
  21. cheers, yeah it was a bit hard as it did infact cross my mind .. but I was boxed in with people behind me and a lady waiting to turn in. The road rage guy was stopping her from turning in. I was kind of stuck with out beefing it over some side walk. I wasn't in my e46, was in the missus misti with under 1/8 tank of gas and a whole raging 1.6 liters of fury for a donk, I doubt trying to out run the guy would of worked either in his v6 mazda 929. When I had my e36 i was invovled in a similar incident and chased while trying to out run this guy who tried to run me off the road. I never wanted to get involed in a high speed chase again, it was seriously stupid some of the manuvours I had to pull to out run them. I was on the phone with the police at the time and they tried to get a squad car out to me but another case of it was over in 15mins due to some tricky late braking and hand brake u-turn in the pouring rain and loosing him in traffic at over 100kph in a 50. Never again.
