very clever -
thats a really good idea, i might do that, if i open the bonnet after just driving (like coming back from getting dinner just before) its big heat wave.

yeah have found a relay diagram for it, just need to work out the resistances etc and how i want to control it, may even get real keen and run it off a microcontroller yet, say switch on at factroy temp 88C or whatever it is and not turn off till 80 or so, and also a manual override three pole switch, OFF AUTO and ON etc. but more worried about choice of fan at this point.

allan and I saw one the same at southwards. not only front and back but on sides etc and front memory had some sort of deeper aftermarket front bumper but otherwise stock. was, uhm, good. Somehow it made it into the show section rather than the general boring carpark. -
So most of you know i have my V12 E34 when in traffic, being a big engine in a small engine bay it gets a wee bit warmer than i would like, and would like an auxilary fan that i can control, just to be on the safe side, last thing i want is to replace two headgaskets! currently only has the waterpump pulley mounted fan, as most of the aircon stuff including auxilary fan is deleted. Am I better off to run two small fans, or one big fan? and also curved blades or straight blades? cheers edit: by the way, have gone through and replaced all the water pump and thermostat etc not that there was anything wrong with them, just to be on safe side and so i know its done.

try putting on Snow Leopard first. Also Kelvin (KwS) may be able to help you, he works at YooBee and most likely knows more about them than I do.

Do you have Lion on physical media or just as a download??? try putting your Lion disk in the machine or infact any OSX disk, and boot the machine holding down C on a USB keyboard (wireless ones dont always work, doesnt have to be an apple keyboard). Point to Utilities once it loads, then Disk Ultility, and then disk erase the hard drive and creat new partition. Once thats done, you may find it suddenly works. of course, backup your files etc first if applicable because you wont be getting them back.

I have put Snow Leopard on those 10.6 with no drama, actually i have a few on the shelf at work. Haven't tried putting Lion on them before, theoretically it will work, but i have read you have to put Snow Leopard on first and then Lion over the top, and its too time consuming. Thats what i had to do for this iMac im using right now, which was Snow Leopard when i brought it, now running Mountain Lion. But my suggestion is to stick with Leopard or Snow Leopard anyways. Those White iMacs have very weak power supplys and Graphics chips in them, so the less stress in those areas the better. I have had several hundred in for recycling at work, about 80% of them are dead because of one of those two reasons, the remainder have replaced PSUs at some stage in thier life. Graphics chips are not economically replacable.

e46 steering rack into e36
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to ///MPROVD's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
well as discussed it could be any rack of a few by the looks of it. Whats the part number of the one in front of you? -
what processor is it? If its a PowerPC G3 G4 G5 then the latest you can put on is 10.5 Leopard. If its an Intel, you can put anything right up to 10.9 Mavericks on most of them. Have a look on the bottom of the machine, there will be an Axxxx code, post that up. whatever your machine is, you are welcome to send it up to me and Ill put the latest OS i can on it for you if you like, no charge. Have them all on either CD or USB etc, but i do not send my disks/tools out anymore.

can you post part number? think i have one here

Looks like they are on this weekend, I cant go, but the one in April sounds good if somone wanted to organise a meet (ive organised heaps lol)

aaaaannnndddd there goes the thread. you are right though. I did away with the trims all together on my E34 and had the windscreen flushmounted like you would find on a much later model car. Much nicer, and only the cost of removing the screen and reinstalling it at the likes of Novus or Smith and Smith. I used Smith and Smith down here in Petone.

A staff member of one of my clients daily drives a Motorbike that hasnt had rego since 2010. Think its a Hyosung or something. same here, have never had more than one of the toys "live" at any one time, and when they are still only do 3 months, because being old BMWs they like to be off the road having my "love and care" more than they do driving! My cab will be hibernating for winter very soon to have manual conversion, rear right window reg is a bit sticky etc, all projects that have potential to get out of hand. Meanwhile V12 RWD car is very fun in the wet and has a solid roof, perfik for winter!
