First post is updated, have 9 equivelent orders now so this group buy round is definately going ahead. Those of you that have already ordered, still waiting on addresses for some of you, and regarding payment, remember these need to be paid for either tonight or monday night!! As usual, if payment not made, you will miss out etc. If you havent ordered and want to get in on this, get your order in to me by Private message or just on here and that will be fine.

Quote Wikipedia (mostly reliable) An engine is a device that burns or otherwise consumes fuel, changing its chemical composition, whereas a motor is a device driven by electricity, which does not change the chemical composition of its energy source.[3]

M20 Stutter When Gas Pedal Sharply Pressed
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to sierra9260's topic in Maintenance
TPS isnt too bad to change, but not as easy as the AFM. Try that first if you can get your hands on one. Id like to say id ship you one, but an AFM can be quite sensitive especially at this age so rather not ship it. Idle control valve is another posibility for the 2k issue, but not the stumbling on jabbing the accellerator. I cant rememeber if the M20 can do that diagnostic stuff, if it can the DME/ECU should be able to tell you what the issue is if you have some way to scan it -
are you shipping it down my way?

M20 Stutter When Gas Pedal Sharply Pressed
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to sierra9260's topic in Maintenance
where abouts are you? if your in wellington im sure i have a spare M20 AFM here we could try. but it sounds to me like its probably the throttle position sensor, with both the 2k problem and the stutter could be cuased by, where as the AFM could cuase the stutter too, but unlikely to make the car hold its RPM at 2k in the morning. -
yes have wondered that before. rather that than the facebook like thing you can now do

took the cab for a very good run yesterday to Taupo and back in one day, about 750km made it there and decided to get gas at turangi on the way back, i always go to Z because of my fuel card and wasnt sure where the next one was, but still had another 20L to go in the tank so was pretty impressed at that, was driving swiftly as i had a lot of ground to cover in the day, and still got just over 8L/100km so pretty pleased with that. And the E30 problems story: On the way back, those that do the route will know the very rough train tracks you have to cross followed by a steep left hand corner/climb. went over those and not even quickly as the car is lowered, and dont want the lip falling off (again). But even so, started missfiring on the steep hill straight after that. f**k. pulled over as soon as i could, had a look, and some how 3 of the leads (2, 4 and 5) had popped off a bit at the spark plug end! One have them may have been a bit loose already as it has done that once before, but then came right and i didnt even do anything. Back on the road all the way home. edit: if your interested, i had this co-driver with me for the way back. (yes i mowed the lawns today after this photo lol)

can we talk about the racks and basket? i dont think they would be pivotal items for a new buyer anyways???

ahh right bleeding brakes/clutches and wheel bearings are pretty much the only thing i dont do myself to cars now, the former because im always on my own and the cars have to go into a garage to get a WOF anyways, and the latter i dont have the gear.

worth it, did it on one of mine but be carefull when ordering…: Trouble is, 750iL almost always had a hydraulic booster system rather than a vacuum boosted system, so there are two different types of master cylinder. I got caught out buying a hydraulic type one the first time, person i brought it off said hydraulic and i thought oh must be right, all brakes are hydraulic. didnt realise that was referring to the way it was boosted. 750iL sometimes boosted using the power steering pump, other times they run remote mounted booster (not on the firewall)
