  1. You could get in touch with the guys at Qualitat or Platinum Parts here in Auckland. Jump onto the VASK forum too, someone there might be able to help. Or you could buy my B5 1.8T Passat wagon - thats got a good head *Edit: Don't know any of the guys there on a personal basis but they have been good so far to deal with for info & new parts.
  2. Agree 100%. The more I talk to people my own age the more I'm seeing an unjustified sense of self-entitlement when it comes to property and financial standings. Having worked 16 years in the residential market I can state with no bias most of the inflation has come from speculative buying. And the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if there were a depression heading our way. Whats wrong with buying in somewhere cheaper and slowly building equity until you can afford the gin palace in St Marys Bay or wherever the hell you want to be. Suck it up and buy a nice place in Glen Eden or somewhere affordable and actually work for what you want instead of cry about the fact it's too hard. At least you're in a position to buy. Unlike a lot of us. And quit calling those that bought into the market young lucky. Luck doesn't exist - hard work and sacrifice does. #sickofwhingingbrats
  3. Probably not. Unless you're willing to risk using aftermarket glues & fixings and chancing failure. Maybe the prices seem high, but the owner will be looking to recoup potential loss from the business not being able to use them while they're on hire. And $850 + GST will still be significantly cheaper than buying them yourself, unless you plan on opening your own panel shop soon. The likelihood is unless the panels you're looking to replace are bolt on it'll be cheaper in the long run to have a professional do it for you. That way if the paint match is wrong, or something isn't aligned you have comeback. Instead of a home job that didn't turn out quite as hoped.
  4. Have got an E30 3.64 open if you want it
  5. As part of a manual conversion package I have acquired an 11-button OBC. My car only had the 8 button fitted ex-factory. Anyone know if it's possible to retrofit one of these? Will my loom accommodate the extra functions? i.e. do I have the necessary cabling for the outside temp sensor? It's a completely unnecessary addition but it could be kinda cool. After all, it is nice to have your suspicions about just how bloody cold it is out there confirmed by a mindless German
  6. Looking for a good used leather gearknob, the rubber boot that seals the cabin from the trans tunnel and two rubber gearbox mounts. Anyone bought a new shifter knob from the stealers? Am too scared to ask lest the quoted price gives me a coronary. TIA
  7. Do it! Just replace that horrible drivers seat with a factory one
  8. Depending on where in the city I'm working I might be able. I finish at 1530hrs so could be there about 1600. PM me with your number
  9. Get rid of the girlfriend. PM sent
  10. Certainly do. In the rocking horse poo rare category. Not totally impossible to find but definitely not the easiest M to source. Sooooo much better than the coupe!
  11. Mint is right! Nice to see a seller with a realistic asking price too!
  12. Same spec, almost identical km, $7900 http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-565287048.htm Once the mileage goes over 140thou most people seem to chicken out.
  13. I'd be looking closer to 7k, and even then it's still done more than 170,000 miles Even a well tended engine is getting due for an overhaul after that much work. The photos do make it look rather good though. As always, it's the market that determines value, if he manages to sell for close to asking price I say well done
  14. Hahaha, just try not to think about it mate - I just start getting depressed when I do

    e39 Oil Leak

Would pay to get Glenn to replace the Vanos seals for you if it hasn't already been done. If you're planning on keeping it for a while of course. No idea what the cost would be but search out the forum, there's at least one guy on here that's done it and it seems the results are well worthwhile

Hell, if I wasn't as tight or as broke and about 10 years younger I'm sure my viewpoint on flashy bits would be quite different I've had my fill of buying toys for the sake of having them, time for someone else to have the fun! Now go get some LMs! Bummer, no wongs for Ahmed then
  17. Bearing in mind it's how he earns a living ( I think) so it's not surprising that he and say Ray seem to get all the good scores. Can be a little demoralizing sometimes though!
  18. I'm sure you've seen the pics on the interwebs of the E30 in (Eastern??) Europe somewhere that has the same engine swap. Are you looking at mounting the radiator underneath the boot and plumbing back to the motor as well? Or are you just gonna tear massive holes in the firewall and keep the radiator at the pointy end of the car like God intended?

I suspect they'll suit the E28 a great deal more. Far as I'm concerned it's function over form, I find it really difficult to justify cosmetic expenses unless they can provide a demonstrable gain in performance. I.e. 17x8 rims ok because they provide more rubber than 15x7. Vaders because they'd stop my increasingly fat ass sliding around so much. And I can justify ordering Bimmersport and Luftwaffe stickers cause I'm gonna tear out my non functioning aircon when I do the manual swap. Still equals a net weight loss *edit - where's wongs chicken? I'm curious to discover what a wong wing tastes like
  20. Gee, that brings back a few memories!
  21. +1 for the bellhousing adapter

Can't say I'm a fan of the stance look, too much stretch & camber there for my tastes. Still, I can appreciate a good job done when i see one the 21 looks really tidy! oh, the things I'd do if only I had the time, money and space
  23. Lol, best go check your shed mate! You may have been hijacked!
  24. Any closer to making a decision on which way to jump? Or is this purely an theoretical exercise?
