You don't have to smoke it Allan, but I do think it's better. You just have to make sure you either dry cure it or brine it properly. I prefer to dry cure my bacon. From research I've come up with my own recipe which family and friends like.

Nothing wrong with that. Your more of a man admitting you are able to have other options when choosing a vehicle that suites your needs rather that just badge buying. Your wallet will like it ? -

Just a heads up. If your looking at smokers, bypass the Bradley's & check out the advantages of the Polish Borniak range. If you are really into this you'll understand why after checking out all the specs. I'm really rapped with mine. Feel free to ask me why.

Use a genuine oil filter as well

If the motors knackered it wouldn't matter what you used, but that is the correct oil to use for this model of vehicle in good mechanical condition.

The correct oil for a E46 330ci is any well branded full synthetic 5w30

The M40 is still a much better and reliable motor than any of the NXX series 4 cylinders. My old E30 M40 did over 80k before I sold it after I rebuilt it when the previous owner broke the cambelt. The diesels N series 4 cylinder also give good service
