All I see is a job unprofessionally done by someone that dosen't give a f**k because they are on a sh*t pay scheme from an employer under pressure to do a job for 50c an hour with unqualified staff = most of Aucklands preferred insurance repairer's. All the professional repairers doing quality work won't do work for most of the dominant Insurance companies now
-
The cost of the repairs may reflect the result... no offence intended... this also has a two sided storey with only one side presented

Keep your hand on the cap and gently lift it off slowly. If it's hard to pull off there is too much vacuum = PCV valve fault. If the breather hose has collapsed internally or split, this won't work
-
They don't have clamps. Check suction on the oil filler cap with the engine idling. You should have positive vacuum under the cap, but it should not have too much suction that makes a noise when you release it
-
I suggest you get it scanned by a professional...it's likely to be the MAF sensor It's an unmetered air fault code. Suggest you also check the PCV valve and the rocker cover breather hose

Maybe they should ban all Euro vehicles because they recycle all there oils, coolants and hydraulic fluids all over our highways
-
You need a scan tool to reset it..... it's not the same system as the USA vehicles your reading about.
-

That's really great Thomasz. I'm glad I could help -
It will be 5 years without smoking on the 20th of next month. The first year was hard for me having to deal with other things in my life at the time. If you can manage the stress and the withdrawals you'll get through it. I would say it would be a lot harder for those with businesses and those who have smoked for a long time and who got up to the 2 packets a day which changes the level of what occurs and how it affects you.

Does your friend own a 518i ??

Be careful with new vehicles running electric water pumps. Tow bar systems need an up grade with new cooling fan installations to void warranty. Including BMW warranty and post sale warranties supplied by companies in NZ. ie: Autosure & Protecta
-
Then the brain needs to kick in with hands, ears and a nose under the bonnet unfortunately with a few other test tools and maybe a real or better scan tool. I'm thinking unmetered air flow as preliminary causing lean mixtures

You can have a sauna in this vehicle on a hot summers day so I'm told- water leaks- check the carpet stains in the photos
-
Scan it... I need to say no more
-
Leave all the above sh*t alone . Man up and get it done . It's hard...I know this... you just need to be strong...very strong or you won't succeed. I hope you do though
