Correct... In contact... not loaded, that's why I said loaded. The release bearing in the photo looks like it has been under constant load against the pressure plate fingers. I"m wondering whether there is a difference with some of the release bearing carrier heights like there is with the 6 cylinder clutch set ups. I've not done an "8". Easy to measure up to come to the right conclusion though.
-
My opinion would be that the release bearing has been loaded full time with the pressure plate fingers with no unloading and preplay

Read the instructions again... You did it wrong... You will need to start the sync again from the start using key 1 & then key 2
-
Search function is working... I just checked CBF'ed writing it all out again Or come over Monday and I'll do it for free

Cheap, also won't do it for later model vehicles with "smart" battery systems, electric water pumps, electric fans & valvetronic motors
-
Over the years I've had many M20's crack through the camshaft journals and a few with cracked blocks in severe overheat situations

We use and I would recommend ELF Evolution Full Tech MSX 5w30

People fail to read this http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/23235-diagnostic-overview/ I should update it

Are you sure it's got oil in it ??? If the level sensor is faulty and it's the only way you can check the level without draining it...they don't have dipsticks. If the valvetronic motor is faulty it may also need a new DME. I suggest check oil level. Drain and refill, clear fault codes & adaptions, road test and recheck. See what codes come back. If oil volume is low check for oil leaks and valve stem seal issues and while you're at it check for water leaks and coolant component deterioration. Good luck

Your looking in the wrong recycle bin... I can sell you the correct oil for your car

Peter who owns Motor Service used to work for me and is known as a good & fair operator. I hope it was Cameron that checked it

Won't be covered if it's a fault prior to purchasing. It is only covered if it occurs after the purchase has been completed. Making a claim on Autosure after the purchase is fraud as it was a pre-existing fault- make the seller pay for it to be repaired as it was found in the PPI

One after the other unfortunately.... depends which get used the most. If you have a passenger & kids in & out of the car every day. Make sure the membrane is not damaged and sealed correctly or you will have damaging water ingress

NO..... I can't service your E90 323i for $98 dollars like Oil Changers have quoted you and I cant do front pads, rotors & wear sensors for $350 you got quoted by a "Pit Stop " Branch, and..... I don't f**ken work on Sundays... I go to church and pray for all you toss heads that can't afford to own a BMW and look after it properly

Did you get that door lock barrel done ?
-
It will need a new regulator
-
I read "NEW" and if it's HP related I'd go MS 325 axles... bigger joints and stronger axles

BM Workshop Spare Parts Grey Lynn $4 each

You need to get this sorted straight away. BM Worksop in Grey Lynn sell the lock assemblies and you need to get it coded to suite your key blade by a locksmith and fitted to the vehicle which is quite easy when you know what to do
-
A dealer for this repair as I don't know anyone down there I could recommend.... or come for a drive
-
You need to get this sorted very quickly before it auto locks on you. Once the new door lock barrel is fitted the control unit in the door will be in neutral and the remote & alarm should then work. The door lock barrel only connects with the control unit electrics in the door which then operates the lock.
