    Slumps ?

Driving down from Blenheim to kaikoura there were Ford -"s in the road they were drop down half circles called Ford guess they were a slump to.
  2. Yeah he's a hard case Scotty, I'm not sure he actually wants to sell it, sure he would for $40k
  3. Can I add with my coombes Johnson inspection as far as body and stone chips they mentioned nothing adverse didn't mention the stone ships and small dings and scraps etc, like they didn't even look at the body work, they are a workshop after all so they focus on the mechanicals and how everything should be when the car was new. Maybe we need to encourage body inspections as well, hell who nows just as easy to look yourself I will from now on. Still a bumber I know. Can't see you getting recompense in any way shape or form even though I don't agree thats neccesarily right.
  4. Runs out to check my tail gate for rust as well lol.
  5. Wicked from a telstar to 540i you want know yourself looks good where did you buy it from?.
  6. I ended up changing the rack. I feel for you I do, but I wont join the chorus of BMW getting a bad reputation it was an inspector (probably and apprentice) in ChCh not BMW AG or anything come on guys think about it.
  7. I still feel that a purchase inspections is not going to exhonorate your responsibility as owner of the vehicle. What if the vehicle snapped it's timing chain, or the head gasket blew, or the ECU failed or the pixles dialuted days, weeks, months later. When does the pre-purchase inspection liability end, shame everyone missed the rust, I had something similar Coombes Johnson missed that my car needed a new UJ, ended up changing the whole rack 3 months later????
  8. The yellow 95 at park lane in Lower Hutt is real nice 36k's on it he wants $40k for his www.plmc.co.nz Page 1 half way down.
  9. Great stuff Brent good to see someone complete a project in that sort of time frame, you have the gear and the parts and expertise to make it happen, me jeolous.
  10. Nice touring Frank Oxford changes density at certain times of the day looks bright then dull etc, still on the original roulettes like mine I see.
  11. I use mine like a tractor fits perfectly in my barn paddock down the back take the trailer down there for firewood and sheep to works etc, tow with it all the time, like every car I've had, BMW fits through the tight angles and gates etc, might of even towed the gang mower with it if I hadn't sold it (mower).
  12. Does a chap from masterton own these cars the ones with the Bentleys and roll royce vehicles?
  13. I had a telstar that shuddered in the rear put the spare on left, still there, put on right rear, went away, bent rim hard to notice, could be that.
  14. I just posted in another thread how I turned one down all be it in sounding worse condition than this one, I only offered $300 as the wrecker would give me $220, so no risk really, I would be $380-400 up to you, does it still run just overheating or totally immobile?
  15. Cool pictures, I nearly scored an e30 for a derby car but it went for $400, 86 318i blown headgasket, and 4 rust spots, wof failure, bold tyres, cracked windscreen etc.
  16. Chuck a busier alloy wheel on there more spokes needed alpina's nice.
  17. Talk to the insurance company ask them to repair it, if not ask for the car and X amount of dollars, but wrecking will be tedius as you know, just a bumber always happens when you spend money on them.
  18. Probably right Ari, it's a write off to bad a 4.0l v8 one as well, doesn't take much for E39's to be written off as well just two of the 8 airbags going off and it's a gonner.
  19. I did a bit of buying and selling nothing major bought and sold 5 times in 9 months, sold some cars for top price no haggling, when I thought it would be sale proof, then the one I thought would get snapped up EF Fairmont, no one pissed on the tyre, text with stupid half price offers and wanting to swap it etc, I had some wins and major bloody loses two.
  20. Welcome Frank I obviously think you have a great car, I have beige interior and oxford greene metallic, I would love an 02-03 530i like you have there, keep your eye out on this forum as well, although fairly rear we love e39's and the touring model downunder.

    Good investment welcome to bimmersport.
  22. E-mail the Ferrari Club of NZ president, he is real easy to talk and will fill you on parts and expertise in NZ.
  23. I would reccomend one preferably 2.8 litre and kiwi new, but that might not be so easy to find, I will run mine for a few more years and upgrade to a 530i touring 2003 model then, love the e39 get it checked out though as mentioned, test drive a few of them first to have the comparison idea in your mind.
