Lots of people leaving the country at the moment?

If it comes down to budget which it usually always does, the MGF is considerably cheaper than the Z3, may be look at the E30 verts, they hold their value or the Mazda or the little pug might be an option. What is the budget?

I now someone who is interested in this car being a Kiwi mainly. he liked mine but likes V8's and sedans. He asked what I thought my initial reaction was it's a 3500cc V8 not a 540i and as far as re-sale goes any prospective purchaser would want a 540i? I don't know he doesn't hold his cars for long so I wonder if not being a 540 will hinder it when it's time to sell. Thinkings??? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-248028586.htm

Old news did't BMW bring out a V16 back in the day. The goldfish M70. Didn't realise VW owned Bugati.

Here's a photo of my one, I have purchased from my company and are on the private car scheme. Yes acid rush is anice colour, 170k and been offered $10k for it from a dealer.

Funny guy aye, not sure they are that much of a babe magnet, one thing with them though is that Aussie stuff it's fairly recognisable from anyones perspective and car dealers will buy them from you easy to quit if the price is right. I have a dealer chasing mine as it's got the nice canopy and they are popular to sell, especially utes compare them with car prices. The VT-VZ utes are harder to come by and desirable as well, and hold their money. So you are looking in a market that has a people who want them, and have a 540i to sell, on stock the dealer will sell any time. Might pay to take the BMW out of the equation as they will quit the falcon ute any time soon without having to bend over backward to help you into one. Over to you man take one for a drive and see what you think.

Definately eat diffs, My N/A XR6 has been through 2 and has an XR8 diff in it now and even that is getting noisy. They rattle and clang have a flimsy interior and the steering racks wear out relatively frequently forever re-booting my bastard. Lots of fun though and they are noisy if you have the wrong tyres, drony noisy, I ended up putting Kingstars on they seem to be the quietest. I'm up to 40k in a BA ute now. no I woudn't buy another one if thats what you want to know, I'd do what Bravo is doing and go the diesel ute option.

There is a few on there just search TM BMW wagons up to $25k 97 onwards. I would say $18-$20k value on that car, good K's, It is the 530i so it's a facelift.

And that is the best thing you can do. If you do unto others, you have ownership of all parts until you are paid, if you want to reposes an air filter is up to you. A gearbox or head may be a different story, it is common practice that if you know you are having difficulties and the customer will demand his car back and not pay, disarm it take the rotor out etc, block the way, stand your ground. Best avoided at all costs, and I hope no-one has to go through it, I have some workshop customers who have though, some horific stories. Comes down to clientele as well....

I don't think you can get away with holding the car as well, but the parts you put into it belong to the contractor until they are paid or resolved. So you can take them out if not settled full and final. Without prejudice basically means you have agrievance or a position but it is not set in stone and you may negotiate at a later date or as information comes to hand. saves someone holding you to your word saying you stated, you can say yes but without prejudice.

police will not get involved it is a "Civil" matter you have entered a contract verbal or otherwise and it becomes statute under contractual law. Different story if Glenn stole my car and I sore it as his workshop stealing the wiper blades from it, no contract entered, sorry to use you glenn.

true true, 50,00 K's would be worth more over 100k now, turners are pretty close to real values most of the time.

Mean wreck Audi NZ should buy that great demo of occupant safety crumple zone demo they'll ever get. I remember when Nissan NZ brought that Micra that was hit by 4 cars in an intersection and the old lady walked away.

In fact you are lucky to be a teenager now a days cell phones for 1, not waiting for your sister to get off the phone and being able to en-masse a gathering at 1.00am which was just not do-able in my day, plus the cars, hell the best I had was a 1600cc Avenger alpine, plus the internet we were way my primitive and everyone knew everyone, no party pills or ecstacy (SP) just valium and weed was about it and acid, but it must be harder now way more temptations. Faster cars, more drugs, more people, better communication devices, and more peer pressure, bugger that. Like every generation there is always someone in every bunch.

I don't know about that I'll call Peter Beck on Monday, I just wen't for a few minute fang got to 12 0'clock stayed there I can here a whine now though prob WP screaming in agony as it's been run dry when the air passed, I'll take it to Palmy tomorrow with 2 litre and phillips and hope for the best. Absolutely nothing coming out the breathers now and the heater works, really well. Marked the water level in res so I'll go and get some gas tomoorw, watch temp, listen, and let cool when I get back and check if level in plastic tank maintains after that mission to town. Bloody marvellous can't wait to tell the owners 0f the mechanic shop WTF is going on with this sh*t. Wish I lived in Akl straight to Glenn so I can just do my lawns and etc.

Not to mention I would of spewed all or most of the coolant out today.
-
Yeah I think my WP and TStat are O.k on this occassion due to the leak down test. It takes a while to bleed and he admitted he got busy, so just didn't do it, see how it goes I'll take my phillips with me to give it some road side bleeding if need be. My symptons are just so conducive with air in the system, but who knows I've probably melted 2 or 3 gaskets today real impreesed. Please tell me more about your symptons, and how you discovered the WP. Also my top hose was tight as and the bottom hose flimsy as had nothing but air!

Any way quick update I took it back in yesterday after the coolant change as the temperature guage was sitting at 12.00 o'clock as usual but would jump up to the red when I stopped or just randomly. Called my mechanic who said it was normal lol. Anyway suspected air pockets as when you accelarated the water pump pushed the air past the sensor and down she went back to 12.00 o'clock in a matter of seconds. So I have spent the day running up and down the road opening the bleed valve right next to the radiator plastic cap, heaps of steam then bubbly water, tighten, let pressure build up, more steam then bubbles, repeat for about two hours and finally just water running out that valve now. Just completed a 8 minute 10k run and 12.00 o'clock the whole way where this morning it took me 15 minutes to drive 3k as I was freaking out hitting the red as it did. So much for taking to to my mechanic aye, just pissed really. Have I done O.k or should I try something else guage hasn't moved now that the heaps of air isn't in the line. Thanks Braeden I shall do, re your advice other thread.

Well the end result was the code that the snap on computer that my mechanic uses was throwing the wrong code. So they drove it to town and it turned out it was the ACS, a fault there apparently a loose wire, and it went away straight away. He phoned snap on etc, caused a bit of drama my car did. The reason it was there I took it back as I had the coolant changed 2 weeks ago, and it was loosing water he re- did it and let it bleed overnight massive air bubble in the line, we were fearing the worse cracked head and water disolving in the bores but no he did a leak down test and good as gold just a 24 hour bleed required. So it's had a few lucky escapes.

Hi All the 39 has the yellow triangle and the computer is displaying this fault, my mechanic is waiting on JG BMW to tell him what he needs, am I in for a big one?. he suspects abs or similar I can't remember what code number it was I'll keep you all informed. WBADH620X0BZ02182

I haven't researched the BT50 but they look like a likely contender have that old tough as nuts feel about them. Price wise Toyota, Nissan then mazda, then Ford, then Holden.
