  1. car Jam was handy the other day, for example I sent the E39 down for a WOF and had someone turn up here that could give me a ride to the garage to collect it. Instead of ringing which he is hard to get hold of I car jammed it and sore the WOF had been issued (real time), so away I went.
  2. Good K's facelifted 530i with FSH kiwi new, you would of paid good money for that?
  3. Thanks PJ thats what I think too. Had alook at a dead e39 down the road today with roulettes, sitting on rims (under the chassis) and the ones that could spin were buckled as well, they woudn't spin true, might have to buy new.
  4. Yes I had two buckled rims 1 quite bad and the other just dented like it had nailed a kerb. I swapped the real bukled one out for the spare and left the dented one on there, tyre shop said it will be O.k. I suspect it's wheels though, as Peter Beck checked out all the underneath and he couldn't find anything wrong, said it's actually quite good, as I had a clanging sound that ended up being a loose wheel brace in the well, he discovered it sitting in the back. Could it be anything else (the steering shudder).
  5. Pretty much as title says. Experiencing a shudder at exactly 57k's, both left hand wheels have no balance weights, had wheel alignment and new tyres ® 1500k ago. Cheers
  6. Have your steering rack looked at by a BMW specialist could be the rack these can cause the symptons you state.
  7. And from me HB, must be the longest birthday thread everyone luffs you.
  8. I bank with National Bank and ASB, have mortgages with both. I use National as my everday bank and ASB as my family trust bank. I find national and westpac and BNZ big boys banks they like business's farmers etc, and don't have the personal banker interest, or they keep changing eventually sending you to the call centre. ASB seem to be more personable and contactable.. it seems
  9. That $2500 reserve a while back on sella or whatever represented it's true value didn't it. I don't think it was a mistake the right person got in his ear and told him how it all works and only a track day enthusiast will buy it, or buy it for the motor etc. common sense has rubbed off now.
  10. Poster 1 I like it, exterior colour, interior colour, engine size, wheels, even the Gov issue plate looks cool. Nice 46.
  11. The E39 dechromed in 01 when it facelifted? is that correct, looks good with tints and in white, black dished wheels could be a winner
  12. No to M6 wheels, try a busy look Alpina's for example, then get back to me.
  13. Storm in a tea cup. So you bid (autobid), but then someone bid higher. Auction hadn't finished leading bidder pulled out (withdrew), so you were next in line, so you were offered the item? is that correct. You were also able to withdraw if you liked, TM assumed you wanted the item as you bid. Run your life however you want as long as it's got nothing to do with me.
  14. You wern't the leading bidder when the auction finished, it ends there for you. By law at auction you have to ask to be the shelf bidder or similar terminology, which means that if the lead bidder welchers your last bid stands. Walk away and get on with you life.
  15. This is a good read on tyres. http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html
  16. See if the outer/side plastic seat skirt is loose, the one with the electric or manual seat controls. They are a sh*t of a design and get sat on and come loose.
  17. Mine 2.8 is a bit of a slug. Unless I put the jandel in and it goes in kick down mode or use the tippy, they love to run at low revs, for the smooth feel
  18. Makes sense now. Is that you shooting the sh*t over the spoiler Graham.
  19. Hell yeah pre WW2 with history like that, it's worth some good money. I would partially assemble it throw the broken engine back in the hole put it back together best you can before listing it and give it a wash. Looks like a marriage split up like that.
  20. It's all over for that one I suspect. It makes you wonder, that has been sitting at least 12-20 years at aguess. Who parks up cars worth thousands of dollars smack bang in the middle of a paddock like that?
  21. Thats worth a few bob as it sits. What are you doing looking for vintage resto projects Mr Collis?. If you can own that resonably, then do that.
  22. Gotta love the little bimmer only half the cylinders of the Holden, would it of been a 2.7L?
  23. Love this footage seen it a few times. Just a 3 minute tussle between these two great drivers. Enjoy Bathurst this weekend, I haven't watched bathurst since 92 when Tony Longhursts B&H M3 was doing the rounds.
