  1. Offers between $5-6k should of taken it, nice car by the way.
  2. It puts my E39 in trailer mode pain in the arse stays in 4th at 3500rpm at 100k, unless you use the steptronic to change manually it stays in lower gears but still pulls like you know what. I tow with the van now as sitting at 3-5000rpm in the car is tedious.
  3. The one I have now has never been a problem plugs into the back of the E39 easy as everything works. I usually tow with my van though and this is what the pop top caused all the problems too. Try some other cars if possible and see if everything works including the dipswitch break lights etc. Take the plug apart and clean it out and make sure all the wires are coatia as they get squashed etc, being what they are.
  4. Interesting you say it causes errors (pop top that is). I have had 3 caravans over the last few years including a pop top that caused me all sorts of grief effected my headlights, park ligts only, blew bulbs, left my break lights at rear on at night that lit up the pop top etc. Spent about $1k at an auto sparky to be told that it is affecting my towing vehicle - umm yeah o.k. Changed caravans and the problem went away, check the trailer wiring first mate thats where the grief will be. I know the guy who bought my liteweight expander wripped it all out and started again with the traler wiring, not earthed, bad connections, rusted pins, list went on.
  5. Yeah no worries as long it's not the buccaner elite, Fatboy, and raumati apartment.
  6. Wonders if Jono has white boards in stock?
  7. Clunk coming from front right hand side lower outer tie rod I suspect. Also broken seat panel the side ones on E39 bad design destined to break, rear cup holder, and tool kit few small dent man dings, punctured tyre repaired other than that running mint.
  8. People are sitting on their hands when it comes to resonable size dollar purchasers. Although the worm might be turning people have been waiting - for what - they don't seem to know either as the only thing that has happened over the past 8 months is prices for everything have risen, so renewed enquiry is happeining as we speak. Talking about vehicle retailing.
  9. Mix and match I collected a few and that one on the BA is just sitting there for demo purposes.
  10. I have a set I found on my dirty old wagon, these are the 60mm wings Ollie, I believe there are larger wings as well.
  11. OP - You'll be right mate, plenty of 38 bits and expertise around.
  12. I too would like to think that the economy is doing well, there are of coarse some sectors, industries and quaters whom arn't affected. I would say vehicle repairers, accountants especially insolvency based and divorce lawyers. As Karl said the realty down at sea level is quite different, I walk and talk to people busness owners all over, not stuck in the same environment dealing with the same clientele day in day out. Take it from me it is tough as nuts and I know where Australia is
  13. They say things are getting better, I wonder when any politician has spent an afternoon walking Carlyle St Napier, Devon St New Pymouth, Rangitikei St P North, called in on the business's there and asked how the economy is doing. Absolutely rooted will be the general response, oh O.k time to put everything up in price can't believe it where do these people at the top get their ideas from, I believe NZ emitts 0.001% of the words carbon emissions.
  14. Yes inner rear tyre wear on my touring as well. I just brought two second hand roulette wheels and tyres toyo's I think with 5mm for $180.00 for both I have spare rims now as well.
  15. Whats the criteria daily, fix up and sell, classic, something to cruise in on a sunny day, get a E28 or a E32.
  16. I've looked into this as well camera, and the general rule is they need to be serviced, like any mechanical part, BMW agreed that it should be changed changing their mind on the original claim of lifetime fluid, but also argued that some vehicles had traveled very high milage without the fluid ever being changed so avoided the warranty claims etc. A total flush is required and filters changed is the key, just draining the fluid and replacing isn't quite the same.\ They run well the E39 I still like mine seems to change very smoothly will service around $180k, we way off yet.
  17. I'm a printing area manager for the lower North Island for an Auckland company work automonously from home office, own a rental or two and my misses works at Gen-i as well.
  18. Yes sir approval granted, it has a M44 carb'd correct?, now new paint and all underneath new, worth good money now whats the plan with it keep long term?
  19. Nothing like German steel from 85-97 they didn't compete on price with the Koreans or Japenese or anyone else for that fact, the W124 and E30-46 thats the quality over quantity and price right there. Not today or the last 10 years all competitive now with price like all business's are.
  20. Agree with mothballing it, think it through buy the $1k daily you were after and move to a new flat and drag the E30 there. You will kick yourself if you sold it off now complete or otherwise. I have other cars sitting around some waiting for their turn in the derby and others for full resto, not sure what it is with young guys they have to bust a move now, wait a while. Just a little three series, not like you have a fleet of buses there or anything.
  21. Could be a big punch up in your driveway Sat avo.
