Why not just buy a ute. I hear that they are quite common. In fact I bet you could find one already built on a car yard near you. Why ruin something by turning it into something else it was never intended to be. Cheers Grant

My 2 1/2 year old has the Snot Rod die cast toy (as well as every single car from the Cars movie - along with the Mack truck that houses them all).I have seen the movie so many times I can quote it word for word. Cheers Grant

It has been illegal here too in California since July last year. My Garmin GPS bluetooth works with my iPhone, so I am sweet.

I can appreciate 1FAT67, but it does look a bit too cartoonish for me. Cheers Grant

Holy sh*t - how can they justify $118k for a 2010 Comaro that is still LHD. I was wandering through a local Chevy dealer here a couple of weeks ago and you can get the 6.2l one here for about US$35k after rebates. I prefer the 2010 Mustang GT which can be had for about US$30k. Someone is making a nice profit. Cheers Grant

I'm of the opinion that if you aren't looking for trouble, it doesn't find you.

All of my cars have always been very nice (well the SAAB excluded).

It sucks, I almost got excited enough to want to watch F1 again (in fact had already booked the practice, qualifying and race in the DVR). Bring on the Sonoma Indy race, I'm there in two weeks to cheer Scott Dixon on. Cheers Grant

I would like to know why and how so many people seem to run into/attract trouble on the roads, and need to "escape". I have driven all over the country, and lived in Auckland for the last 5 years that I lived in New Zealand, in that time I drove all over the greater city and at varying hours. I never once ran into any trouble with any other motorists. Seems that a strangely high proportion of people on here seem to have this problem. Cheers Grant

You never can have too many brackets. I am starting a bracket collection and this would be a great addition. I keep it next to my bolt collection. Cheers Grant

You are a month behind. This happened last month in the US (where the dates are written differently) Cheers Grant

Does anyone else still have a set of the BMW Motorsport overalls that were being sold at the big BMW celebration at Pukekohe a few years ago. They are awesome. Mine are in storage somewhere back in NZ. I think Sam and Andrew have a pair as well. Cheers Grant

It is a federal program not a state program. California is not broke anymore. After massive spending cuts it is now living within its means.

It's a pity my Passat with its 1800cc of turbo charged power doesn't get bad enough mpg to qualify.
-
I'm not sure if this made NZs news but here as a part of the stimulus package the government has started a cash for clunkers scheme. Effectively if you trade in your old car that only gets a certain mpg you get $4500 for your old car. A billion dollars was set aside, so basically 250,000 cars. The old cars are crushed. This has been so successfull the billion dollars was used in 3 days. A further 2 billion dollars has been added. They just showed a car lot of cars that are about to be crushed and amongst them were lots of pretty nice looking 5 and 7 series BMWs. I guess there will be a few less BMWs on the road in the US soon. Cheers Grant

I was having issues with constant calls on my cellphone from a telemarketing firm trying to sell used car warranties. To get rid of them I let the guy go through his speil, I sounded all interested went right though the process and when he asked for my car details I said I had a 1982 Ford Pinto with 400,000 miles on it and some bad oil leaks. The guy stuttered away and said that they couldn't offer a warranty on a car of that vintage. I have not had a call since! Cheers Grant
