Especially with all of the problems that the S54 seems to have with cooking big end bearings when driven hard.Cheers Grant

They have a list price of $36.50 each (as said you need 2). However the BM Workshop charged my $31.50 each when the put my car back together. Cheers Grant

Its obvious isn't it, it all helps raise the post count, and therefore how great you are.

Yup, I have heard nothing but bad things about Lowen Design, they are crooks by all accounts.Cheers Grant
-
That is a good deal, as they are pretty hard to find second hand.I paid $100 for a set 2nd hand a while back. Cheers Grant
-
I actually think it was US$10m.Cheers

Since when has being the best meant that you are arrogant?I don't find him arrogant at all, he always comes across as honest and gracious when interviewed. There are far more arrogant people in F1 than him, people who have very little right to be arrogant. It is purely down to the car/tyres letting him down, it is a cyclical sport, and Ferrari are going through/ been through the lack of form cycle. McLaren have recently been through it, Williams looks like they are on the way up from it, and BAR look like they are on the downward slope part of the cycle. It has made for an interesting season so far though. Cheers Grant

Gidday I was talking to a guy at the JDC Drags today who has just bought a 4 door E36 M3 (a 1996 6spd 3.2l). He said that he has been struggling to find the full specs on it, and asked me to see what I could find in the BMWCC library. Well, I can't find diddly squat, so am hoping that someone on here can hepl. If you have any good links, or know all of the specs, please let me know. He is after things like standing 1/4 mile, avg fuel consumption, 0 - 60mph, etc etc. Can anyone help? Cheers Grant

Cool, I've PM'd you back. It's all yours. Cheers Grant

I have one that someone can have for free, but you will have to pick it up from me in Auckland, and I am too busy at the moment to organise a courier. It is in average condition, about what you would expect from an on car. Cheers Grant

I agree completely.Cheers Grant

You can get CDMA roaming - just need to ring them.I find within NZ - Telecom's coverage appears to be better. Yup, my phone worked fine in the USA, and Tony (who i work with) is in Europe at the moment, and I was talking to him the other day, and his phone works as good as gold there (it is a Telecom one too).Cheers Grant
-
We pay nothing for all of Telecom's services, including the top jetstream package. We do pay about $60 for sky though. Oh I lie, one month after a lot of calls to the USA, we had a telecom bill of $3.00 Cheers Grant

You mean to say that cellphones aren't free to use? Damn that must suck. Cheers Grant

I stand corrected, my humblest apologies Emma.Cheers Grant

I agree with you, it's a bit tiresome isn't itnow if only I could masticate this thread... For christs sake, thats what I have been saying with the previous similar threads like this.At last people are starting to listen. Cheers Grant

It is far too Bling Bling for me, not my cup of tea at all. But then each to their own, I'm sure the owner loves it. Cheers Grant

They should be pretty bulletproof. The only reason I had to get mine rebuilt was that someone had damaged the selector shaft when changing the seal, and the only way to fix it was to rebuild it (as the selector shaft needed changing).Cheers Grant

While it looks like it has been well done, and is a nice looking car, to me it is all wrong. An M3 is an M3, a 325i is a 325i, easy as that. Cheers Grant

The 318 Engine changed in 1993, from an M40 (from the E30) to an M43The M40 has 113hp and the M43 has 115hp. I'm pretty sure they're 1790cc. So if your looking for a 318 that 95-96 it'll have the M43 engine (note the 4 between the M and the 3 ) The E36 facelift was in 1997 and changed a few things like: More rounded kidney grill, new panel surrounding the headlights, new indicators, new front apron. The Interior changes were storage nets on the rear of the front seats & pyrotechnic seatbelt tensioners which pull the seatbelts tight in a crash. Yeah i think most of the problems of the early E36's aresorted by 95/96 EmmaI'll just correct a couple of small errors in your previous post. The M42 superceded the M40. This was a 1.8l 138bhp DOHC 16v unit that ran from 1992 - 1995 the M44 superceded the M42. This was a 1.9l 138bhp DHOC 16v unit that ran from 1996 - 1998 The M44 has slightly more torque than the M42. This info is coutesy of the BMW buyers guide (I don't know these things off the top of my head, I just knew there were a few errors in your post Emma). Cheers Grant

OT, but you can only call them pitstops in the loosest possible way now, they are pathetic, with little or no area for mistakes to be made.It now means that race strategy seems solely decided on the size of your fuel tank. Cheers Grant

I actually haven't got them yet. Last time I rung them they still weren't ready (about 3 weeks ago). The guy promised to ring me when they were done, but I have not heard back yet. I'm in no real hurry, I'll get them in time for the August JBL track day, if I don't hear back before then. However, Gus picked up opne of the first sets, and was suitably impressed I think (but he is the best to comment). Cheers Grant
