    E30 costs

I've spent well over $9k. I have had the car for 6 years, and in the last 18 months have spent $7,500 ($4,500 of that in one hit 3 months ago) Cheers Grant
  2. Yup, my copy arrived today as well, good article, the pics came out very well. Cheers Grant

    Bad Fuel

Same here, my car runs like a dog on 91, but I can't tell any major difference between 96 and 98.I run on Gull 96 petrol most of the time. Cheers
  4. Agreed, best laugh of the day, followed by Dave's picture.
  5. Tim Very sorry to hear, see that. Gutted for you man. Good luck with the insurance, and/or getting your mechanic to sort you out. Cheers Grant
  6. It can't be pictures of the actual celebs, as it says on Xtra's site that they are actually overseas at present, and that the police would talk to them on their return. The pics in the Herald, must be of the other two people, who's names have been surpressed also. Cheers Grant
  7. I think Mr B Todd is a good guess (he seems to like dodgy dealings), not sure about Mr M Ridge though...however other "property developers" (I use this in the loosest term) have been involved. Cheers Grant

    Nos

yeah, i was like wtf? they make 190 stock, so 120 would be like absolute drivetrain ownage! Depends on what type of dyno.Carl, here is no way in hell your car would make 118rwhp on the dyno we used for the BMWCC up here last time. Cheers Grant

    E30 revision 2

Looking good, nice work fella's. Cheers Grant
  11. Just pay the ticket and move on. Cheers
  12. Compared with NZ, I saw a lot fewer BMW's (but to be honest I wasn't really taking too much notice). If anything, I seemed to see lots of E46 M3's. However, in LA (where I only spent 2 days) I did see two different Z8's. I only recall seeng a handful of E30's, and even then they were all pieces of crap. Last September when I was in San Francisco I saw lots of nice E30's, but didn't go to San Francisco this time (I was in and around Fresno - Brook's parents live 40 minutes out of Fresno in the foothills of the Yosemite National Park). And Dennis, no I didn't sneak anything good back this time (apart from some Ho Ho's and Hersheys chocolate). The next thing I will get sent over will be a LSD. Cheers Grant
  13. Hello I'm still around. I have been quite busy with work lately thuogh (had two big projects on the go), and have also spent some time in California (I arrived back last week). I actually haven't had much to post of late, my car is going perfectly with no problems at all. I am still keeping an eye on things in here though, and am pretty much up to date. In the next few months I will also still have quite a low profile as well, got a bit of stuff on, got a major USA based Project Management qualification to finish studying for, and also have my wedding early next year so my car will be taking a back step, as oher things have a higher priority. Edit: by the time I posted this, I saw Andrew's post. You're welcome to the apartment, but you have to take over the mortgage too!! To prove I am alive (well last week anyway), here is a photo of us on Splash Mountain at Disneyland. Cheers Grant

    Av Gas

Dumb question, but where do you actually by av gas from? It's not as though you see service stations with it. Cheers Grant
  15. it would pwn me too, I have no idea what you are on about.
  16. I'm pretty sure that for an E30 that that is all wrong. There is nothing after the cat that reads exhaust gasses. Cheers Grant
  17. Yup, get the cat removed, it is something I keep indenting to do, but have never got around to. I suspect the sensor was stuffed for mine, as the light was on all of the time. To me it wasn't worth worrying about so I just removed the bulb. Cheers Grant
  18. It is not an engine overheat light, it is a cat convertor overheating light. Do what I did, rip the bulb out. Cheers Grant
  19. Gidday Happy Birthday Hope you have a great day. Cheers Grant
  20. Yup, I have done the same with mine, and they work fine now, and have done for ages. Just don't let the little springs fly out and have to spend ages searching the floor for them.It beats buying new ones, I got one from the dealer a while back and it cost around $80.00 or somesuch. Cheers Grant
  21. I have full cover, it costs bugger all, but I'm over 25 with a clean licence. I'm a fan of compulsory insurance for everyone as part of your rego process. I think my excess is $250 as well. Cheers Grant
  22. I agree with Ryan.Depending on where you live, either of them are good. Cheers Grant

    eBay

rice vs non-rice is getting boring locked Cheers Grant
  24. No it wasn't , it was a potential problem with all S54's built between February 2001 and mid 2003.However, it seemed that this was a mjor problem in cars built in November 2001, with a very high failure rate at around 6,000 miles. However, BMW have doubled the warrany and will fix any cooked angines free of charge for 6 years 100,000 miles that suffers this problem. They have since rectified the problem though.....but I guess time will tell and we will know for sure when the newer M3's start getting to around 80,000kms on the clock. They have a similar problem with the E39 M5 engine (that many of us have witnessed first hand). Cheers Grant
  25. Yup, when the bearings go, the vibrations cause the conrod bolts to come loose, and then the rods get thrown through the block. It is all because the tolerances are too tight, and when the oil gets too hot it can no longer keep the bearings cool enough (it isn't a lubrication issue, it is a heat one). ....or so I have been told. Cheers Grant
