  1. Kool stuff - that'll learn that auto trans for mis-behaving like that.................... Ditto re wheels etc - least you'll end up with a 'better' car outa it all.......
  2. Welcome to the site. Nice looking car there - plate cracks me up.............
  3. Ditto my thoughts, & its done lots less kms. Calypso roof colour looks weird too IMO.......That Hellrot car is sweeeeeeet
  4. Primo outcome - great stuff!! The 4hundy is far better in your pocket, specially @ this time of the year Shows there are 'humans' within the fines system still.........
  5. Is it not boost under load that is measured, rather than free-revving??
  6. Kool!! Bummer bout no pic though...........that woulda been fairly special.
  7. Noise from turbo = no good can come from this = $$$$$

    Ouch

Because it can be?? Good midnight question though ....
  9. This bit sounds 'weird', as diesels don't flood, as such, so something is up with it?? Whine IMO will be a leak somewhere, or turbo 'problem' like seals / bearings/impeller had a huck up with rubbish go through it........
  10. Spent much time in Mid-Canterbury?? Or McKenzie Country?? Lots of awesome flat straight as roads bigtime.......
  11. Yes - you're right - no offence was meant in what I said, I probably just worded it a bit wrong & without context Allan...........
  12. Above ^^^ re de-cat - great point.........if its blocked it'll be fairly average too........
  13. Any motor is always restricted by fuel in, fuel out (exhaust), & reciprocating mass (you've fixed that a fair bit), & max rpms as set on ECU electronically, so yes, if exhaust is still standard, that's where I'd be spending $$ next if it were mine. Even a collapsed baffle in a muffler can strangle them lots...........I'm taking it that 'tune aspect' has already been checked as A1........??
  14. Apparently, E34 M5 3.8 restricted to 280 kph, whereas everything else was 'restricted' to 250kph on E34/39 platform........ Bit quicker than a 523 anyway, (but not quite the legend that E36/46 became) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M5
  15. Irrelevant at the price IMO........my NZ new one sat round for so long between build date & 'sold' (nearly 2 years!!) that BMW NZ themselves brought it as a company car in the end......... It was reg & WOF'd in a previous auction.........I'd buy it in a heart-beat if I needed a daily driver....

    e39 work car

True all that - my E34 is first car after 20+ years of lifted / tweaked 4WDs, & even if it had been 'to the moon & back' & was looser than a Queen St good time girl, I reckon it'd still feel great to drive!! At least German steel is a bit thicker for when yours is sitting @ port.......
  17. Just read your build thread - awesome!! And like the guys said there, great that you've managed to hold onto it through wedding, mortgage, kids etc. Well done ae....very koool, specially bit where its being used on school run - I'm sure it blends in nicely amongst the people-movers........

    e39 work car

Ahhh, rodgey that - I'd be leaving the Pootrol at port then, have this gem as toy for when back............ (Landcruiser owner - on my 13th one.......)
  19. For the Tim Shadbolts of the world............
  20. Lols Allan Thread lost the plot ages ago - lots of $hits & giggles since though, haha. Hold your breathe long enough & we'll probably see a debate here on E46 330 on Ling-long tyres being 'better' than E28 M5 on Triangle tyres. Hard to say re the E39 M5, as I think had a proper hand-built motor still?? Makes it a cross-over maybe?? Opps, my bad, a cross-over with truck steering.......
  21. I'm picking you don't work for yourself or employ any staff.............
  22. Probably karma for buying a Swedish brick^^^^
  23. Phil-540i

    Ouch

Exactly!!!! Pencil-pusher job justification somewhere by some pillock............
  24. Lols - opps, you baaaad! Its amazing how many tickets that camera issues a year - its always the No.1 one. Cracks me up everytime I see a stock-truck or curtain-sider parked in front of it.......
  25. Yea, I dunno, I know 5/8ths of not much on a good day (today aint one) but it'll probably spool up a bit easier it ya whack a turbo on it I suppose...........as per your other thread might wanna fix your brakes or do a few leg exercises first......
