If it's not adjustable, castor / camber still needs checked though for being within factory specs. Dropping off the factory ride height might see other suspension alterations still needing to be made in order to properly compensate for the drop.......
-
Yea, I'd be very much the same - you'd just grin like a Cheshire cat & go "Sweeeeeeet" every time eyes were laid on it...........only made better by turning the key.....
-
Awesome............!!!

Lols - generally as soon as they get it 'really right', they then bring out the new model............. -

for the wank factor then obviously, as IT IS'NT EVEN THE COLOUR YOU DO BUY............................. -
Gotta put a half decent chamfer around it though, not a 'girl's attempt' at it, & as always, don't breathe the dust, do at your own risk, do not try this at home, must be done under qualified adult supervision, do not attempt after drinking alcohol, etc etc, yada yada, yawn............

Hmm, IMO, given the kms you do, ya want something stylish, different, 17", & something that's easy to keep clean..............I pick within 2 weeks you'd be cursing those Alpina's, even though they look great. They'll just be a pain in the a$$ to ya everytime ya go to clean them up.............my style 42's are bad enough in that regard to me........
-
Rip the pads out, & chamfer the leading / trailing edges of the pads......................I'm confident noise will then be gonski............
-
Sounds like a wheel alignment issue to me....................maybe compounded now a bit by the tyres having settled into a proper 'wear-pattern'.............. Were the tyres put on same time as springs / last wheel alignment done, by chance?? Rim offsets are close to spec..........??? I find the trouble with wheel alignments, is theres lots of people out there that think they can do them properly, whereas the guys who really do know what they're doing are starting to get hard to find.........

Brilliant read in here ae................ Don't forget to give us your feedback later on on what ya think of the 2 variants ............??? Of course, theres also that rattley sack of $hit manual diesel hearse thing to also try ae..................... Thanks for the thread.......... been interesting, as always.......

Coupla points............ -'000' is usually a non-number during production runs - its not used as vehicle identification is not set up that way by manufacturers.......... - Chassis numbers don't lie Dan - 00001, really is the first one........... - In others eyes, this is nothing special, which is fine, every-one is entitled to their opinion. Given its only wank value in being number 1, & nada special - have a bit of a look around & try to find the 002 (2nd car) built then - what do ya reckon your odds are on finding it.......??? - If it was yours, in your shed - what would you be wanting for it.................??? -

Do you not think, that just maybe, ever so slightly, you're actually missing the point....................... That, is a really special car IMO............ -
These are the bits that people seem to struggle with................
-
It might surprize ya, but I totally understand where you're coming from with that...........and I think theres lots of other M3 owners out there in same mind-set really re selling..........
-
Bummer, roads get lethal when they're like that - just ends up slicker than snot on a door-knob, & the longer its been dry, the worse it is when it does rain..........something ya learn really quick on motorbikes. Fingers crossed for ya ae. Probably doesn't help much, but it coulda been lots worse...........
-
Exactly. and, theres only one thing better than a 540, & that's a diesel...................
-
Everythings for sale, so just to give us an idea, given what's being said lately re M3's - I rock up to your place with a crate of Speights under 1 arm, - how much $$$$$ am I leaving behind too to walk away with the keys to the car............??? Go on..........
-
Ditto what he said!!!!^^^^^^^^ Sweeeeeet units - more pics / info on both............... Those are those super rare rims ae?? Like, 'sell first born, arm, leg , adjust mortgage, & crawl across a mile of broken glass to get them', rims............ Kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit. It just fascinates me stuff like this, that theres so much of it out there in such mint condition, still being found & still being loved by the guys that get them. Whether its a mint little E30, or cars like these 2 - some of it's just better than when it was new in someways - nice!!
-
Is there a wee untold story here maybe..............??? Or is backwards @ 40k into a curb just a 'normal' product test fail maybe or what.......... Given the time you've put into it, I hope it works out for ya - assume ya want it fixed...???
-
Lols, oh, ok, yea, know that feeling - imagine the ex Southern boy here, going north of Bombay for the first time to whangarai years ago. 'Lucky' enough to just hit Auckland @ 5pm on a Friday - beautiful, just f#cking beeeeautiful........... So, ya genuinely want a M3 ae...................hmmm, strange little world. I've heard theres a list of buyers, but not many sellers..........
-
Funny ae, as Alias had a 540, sold it, brought that ACS 528, & yea, now hankers for the V8 again..........the 540's were called a German 4 door super car for a reason...... Even if you don't rev it over 2k, they're still fairly quick. Drop into S on the trans, & sink the jandle properly, & they really boogie, for what they are......
-
Not hard to imagine 3pedals wading in here & getting super excited.............. Edit - BTW Graham, remember this absolute gem of yours..........I just re-found it.........!!!! Bloody funny........... http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/46356-considering-buying-this/page-2 Personally. Maunal > Walking > Automatic > crawling through glass with cock out > SMG
-
Ditto^^^^^^^^ Proper manuals have a clutch pedal - simple as that IMO too ..............
-
and grille - I spotted that too, cracked me up............
