Hmmm - looks ok ae. You're into shiny $hit tho - bit of a worry, haha! TBH, I think this is probably better bang for the buck..............http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/540i/auction-642676249.htm Price on it needs to be a bit negotiable, but hey............its nz new, & genuine, & a super versatile car really........... Yes, I know its not black. Youll be right - just wear your sunnies when you're walking towards it.........
-
Rodgey, yea true............ $$$ might be limiting factor........dunno.
-
Yea, great to see Frosty hang onto it - got a bit dodgey though at times!!! That was awesome racing, bigtime!!
-
Yes, its shiny, & has a nice interior, & nice rims etc - YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO, its also fairly overpriced, & theres only 2 things slower in the 5 series range - a 523 & a 520....... Of course, if you don't mind getting around in something that wouldn't pull grandma off granddad even with the help of a tail wind, then I guess a 520-525 will be fine - each to their own. As a 5 series, I'd personally prefer a 528 or 540.........either of which you'd get a good example, cheaper than this.......... PM this guy - http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/46407-old-member-new-car-2002-525i-motorsport/ to see if you can get a idea on what he paid for that - its mint, with lower kms than the one you're looking at...........
-
Were'nt ya gonna buy Qube's / Kye's car, put some new rims on it, etc etc.........??? Actually, I'm interested in knowing what you're smoking that has that 525 looking so amazing...... Maybe I should go find ya a car............... gimme ya cheque book ae..........

No.

Yea Dubby - all good, 3 laps 2 go..................

DTW vs Bathurst.................??!! Bit like having the choice between keys for a M5 or a Yaris / Prius........I'd be taking the M.........
-
Thanks Andrew - much appreciated......... Its a goooood link that one!!
-

compression tester? any one have the equipment in East Auckland?
Phil-540i replied to lord_jagganath's topic in Maintenance
You're obviously looking for a reason, & given what you've posted in post re your wagon - might wanna borrow a cooling system pressure tester too maybe?? -
I didn't really click until yesterday that theres no 'free' Bathurst viewing this year - TV 3 hasn't even brought today's Bathurst race. We've got Sky, but obviously not the channel Bathurst is on, as that'll require us being reamed harder in the pocket. Mate just told me Sky apparently has the rights for 10 years now. Much as I've loved watching this, & other V8 racing since I was a kid - there's always a limit & a line with me. My message to V8 Supercars & Sky TV - "GET FU#KED, money grabbing w#nkers"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll find something else to do.

Primo!! Glad she got the billboard too!! She's a whizz on the camera - well done!!
-
Fluro is very unkooooool, at lots of levels.......................... Theres so much of it around now it doesn't have the impact it used to - its become the new 'silver' these-days,
-
Sweet car!! Looks like a great reason to have loooooong weekends, fairly often............ ......
-
Fix the girl up - then ya have a learning experience on avoiding lamp-posts that leap out at ya too........plus its probably the cheapest & best option. Also leaves you with something that's already 'known' to ya too, quirkes & all.....
-
^^^^^^^^ Totally agree!!

Next time ae - yea was a great turn out - Tui carpark looked real impressive!!! Pic here inside the hallowed brewing walls of Tui - was interesting tour - Tui girls were away having their smoko break when we went around...........somewhere around here our guide reckoned we had 1 million litres of beer sitting above our heads.........I'm not totally sure she was telling the truth, or maybe having a 'yeah, right' moment............ Some of the line up in the carpark. Probably 4 (or so??) cars hadn't arrived yet - I'm sure others will post the full line-up. Few $$$ worth here probably, as well as a bit of blood & sweat & %$%##@ words at times by those that have resto'd & / or tweaked their's a bit.

New thread for posting up Tui pics - 12/10/2013. I'll chuck up few of mine, then leave it to those with better cameras & skills.......!!!

My bad - was brush on wheels - brand new you beaut (virginal) sponge on the blue & chrome bits........ I'm now 'unfired' ae..........

Onboard - BMW M5 E34 #240 Tim Leyendecker @ Nordschleife
Phil-540i replied to hybrid's topic in Videos & Sound
On ya Josh - that's VERY kool. That thing is mousing along - even with the cage, keep on eye on how much the RH door is flexing around it's frame @ speed, & big bumps..... -
I stare rather lovingly at this car regularly on reTardme - it's just absolutely gorgeous!!! It ticks lots of boxes for me spec wise, NZ new, colour, low kms etc etc etc - its awesome. But, then I think, hey, realistically I can get a fairly tidy 540i Motorsport, for 7-8k, done under 200 clicks. Spend coupla grand on it, & it'd be sweet(ish). I dunno, but I reckon high 13's, low 14's would be about tops for me on it really. If ya took it for a drive, & then 'just had to have it' - anything more than high 14's becomes heart over-riding the head too much on it really..... You're sorta factoring in at the same time, just how much extra the 'leap of death' is to a E39 M5 from this car........ In some ways, its a bit like his wife has 'told him to sell it', but he doesn't really want to............................. If I was this guy, short of medical or age related reasons for selling it, I'd be keeping it......

Shame you're so far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is parking a car with no WOF outside your house illegal?
Phil-540i replied to Dingo's topic in General Discussion
Yea - that's what I'm meaning - I used to spend lots of time out there in 4WD's, (& it'd be nearly 10 yrs since I'd been out there)......I was absolutely gobsmacked to see that some needle-d1cked pencil pusher within the Canterbury Regional Council has been able to sign off stealing away public access to public land, to the extent that's happened!! Unbelievable that Cantabrians let that happen!! Jetboats, yea true - obviously only until some lentil-munching jandle-wearing muppet complains about noise or wash though......... Thread Hijack apologies!! -

Hmm - query - Waimak. As in Waimak out near Chch by chance?? If its the place you are meaning, I'd be real keen to know when ya were last out that way - I went back earlier this year, & was just shocked at what's changed out there........
