  1. For homework, a class in NSW were asked to draw their parents at work. This is Jessica’s drawing: Here's the letter the teacher received the next day: Dear Mrs. Jackson, I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Bunnings and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week after the floods hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had and then I found one more in stock and several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last shovel we had in the store. From now on I will remember to check her homework before she hands it in. Sincerely, Erica Cameron
  2. As the phones are not locked, yes. Voice call, text will work straight away when you swap SIM. Anything else that need data connection (PXT, WAP, internet) will need to setup first but it will. Worst case you won't get 3G due to different frequency, this means it might fall back on to old school GPRS.
  3. Exterior: Try to do it weekly on a weekend, but if it rains then it defer to the week after. It get waxed every 4-6 weeks. Interior: Weekly or 2-weekly vacuum. Full clean and protect all hard surfaces every 3 months. Leather seats gets done every 6 months.
  4. I've got a Telecom SE W705 about 7 weeks ago, on the $6 20MB plan. I use it for email (3-4 times a week), browse stuff.co.nz, ZDNet and NZHerald on WAP (2-3 times a week). Occassional TradeMe and Facebook mobile (once or twice a week). I still have a few MB left at the end of the month. As long as you stay away from YouTube, you're cool. You can check your MB usage under "Your Telecom" in the TWorld menu which is update to 30 minutes. As for the apps, I have tried downloading new apps thru WAP (both WiFi and 3G) from a couple of non-NZ site without problem. I am sure you can also download on to PC, transfer to mem-card (thru card reader or SE Data Suite) onto the correct folder, the phone will recognise it automatically.
  5. Air-con setting is part of the key memory. You'll need dealer or special software to reprogram.

    Dual Sim Phone?

They work as they say, but their UI is a bit clunky. But if you are more technically minded and don't mind a bit of tinkering, they are well worth the price. Just because they are made in China doesn't mean they are sh*t. Most things we see/touch everyday are likely to come from China. Even BMW have factory in China (for internal consumption, not exported yet). Edit: typo
  7. Optimal condition with battery fully charged in the remote key (18 hours), 30m from back and front of the car, 10m from the side.
  8. erm... where's the Honda S2000, could be in place of the Elan or the MX5 Why is the R33 GTR on but not the R34 or even the R35? NSX is on there twice (Type-R and normal) That said, I would love to drive at least 10 of any car on this list.
  9. +1 for Lego. Or maybe even Meccano For $100 you can buy a kitset big enough to build stuff like excuvator and helicopter.
  10. I don't get that slogan at all. Except that it's about a glutan free desert.

    Car Accident

As other had said it, you are at fault as you are turning and the other guy not. It won't matter if he's overtaking or not.
  12. I quite like Speed too and I had the first 12/13 issues. I can't find it anywhere since that but it's been a few years now... Autocar Weekly (UK) gets my vote but at over $10 each per week is a bit on the expansive side. It has a bit of everything, new car, used car, news and extensive tests and comparison.
  13. Have you looked at VW Phaeton? Very understated
  14. Yeh, that someone would be me. I wear my handsfree on my left ear. So if you are on my right, you'll think I am a cookoo. There is no need to all go rush out buying handsfree kits. One must ask if you talk enough to justify spending money on it. Most cellphone have speaker phone function, they are not great but can do the job if you *REALLY* have to talk. The simplest way is to ignore the phone ring. If it's important enough, they will leave voicemail or will call again. Pull over and stop to check them if needed.

    Impluse buy

Nice buy. Ain't they like $130 new?
  16. BMW actually issued a service bulletin on this topic - SI 36 04 99 (502) Basically, keep it dry, cool, dark and OFF the ground (on a wood pallet or something). If the tyres are on the rim, you can hang it by the wheel nut holes or stack sideways off the ground. But if you must store upright, inflat and maintain tyres pressure to 3.5 bar during storage. If the tyres are off the rim, then only store upright and rotate them regularly (once a week or so) to help it keep its shape. Avoid anything mineral based to come into contact with the tyres, which would dry them. Plastic bag/wrap is not recommended for fear of trapped condensations which could lead to corrosion.
  17. Oh yes, if you come upon a Stop sign, it means STOP. You must stop still at the line before driving off again even if there is no other cars for miles. If it's Giveway though, you can slow down and roll over it slowly.
  18. They just critise everything. My wife did her test few month ago and was told she was driving too slow. The examiner said why is she driving so slowly in a BMW. I mean WTF?

    Cash For Clunkers

UK was following Germany and France's footsteps on this one. Not sure about US.

    I don't get this

Bring back capital sentence (as in China) and ass-whooping (true! as in Singapore). That would stop them.

    BMW X1

This is not a SUV, just a jacked up 3 series touring with taller interier space. Not a bad looker I reckon. Rumour has it that there will be a 3 series GT (as in 5 series GT) which slots in between this and touring.
  22. I now have a Lenovo S10e with 10" screen, which I upgraded from eeePC901. They all have the same CPU (the Atom), unless it's the latest latest one. eee is ok, decent battery (as mine came with extended battery). Mine has the 8GB SSD which is tiny and the keyboard also is a major pain for me, it just simply too small. Which is what prompted me for the upgrade. Lenovo has a much better keyboard and 160GB HDD. I went for the one that has a extended battery which last 5 hours. I can watch 2 full length movies on it and that's with WinXP. I am looking at selling the Lenovo as I don't use it much, give me a PM if you are interested.
