  1. 15 wheels? Team MC must think you are joking. They are quite arrogant I must say. Team Mini and Used car teams are good friendly bunch. Can't say the same for new car and parts. I had good service from JC service at Wairau valley (the one that's "off-dealer premises"), havn't had a service at Team McMillan yet, so can't say much.

    Laptop experiences

I have had very good experience with IBM ThinkPad series (had 4 in the past 6 years as I upgrade), of course it's now Lenovo ThinkPad. A bit hard to find in main stream retail channel, but they now have online store where you can customise the spec a bit. Most of them also has keyboard light for use in dark room, so there.

    ETK & TIS Discs

I didn't borrow from you but I got an old copy (Jan 04) if you need one urgently. Hope it helps.
  4. Clearcoat came off? Maybe? Just a guess.
  5. If you have 225 50R16, the 205 equivalent should be 205 55R16. They are both factory approved size.
  6. It's a 8 years old car afterall, some of the items are bound to need replacing. Depending on what needs changing, it does sound about right for an Inspection II which I assume the car will need one soon.

    Auckland Supercity

I am all for it. City only 2/3 the size of Sydney with less than 1/2 of its population but had 5 councils? Think of the wastages... 5 sets of accounts, 5 sets of rules, 5 sets of council offices 5 sets of everything. These has got to be a better way.
  8. I recently upgrade my front pads to EBC GreenStuff and new fluid. It stops is noticibly quicker and in shorter distance. Just under $300 include disc machining, labour and GST. As a bonus, the "low dust" really mean low dust, it only got about half as much dust compare to original pads.
  9. Will the damage buff out? My friend recently had his RX8 repaired, full respray on left side of body + new door skin. After finishing, there are burned dots on the headlight and hood likely to be caused by sparks from welding nearby cars within the workshop.
  10. They should have just stick with doing tyres only.
  11. Most of the camera are on a straight stretch of road with a good 50 meters at least (many have hundreds of meters) to spot them. I guess people just that don't pay enough attention to the road. If no one speeds in the first place, there is probably nothing to complain about. I had a few tickets myself over the years, nothing big but lesson learnt. Not worth the price of a ticket just to try save a few minutes.
  12. All of these "unlimted" plans are subject to fair use. I don't think 60+ GB is reasonable to be honest. 2GB a day everyday? That's a lot of movie/music/web browsing. I used to be on Go Large using 11-12GB AT BEST, now I am back on normal 10GB plan on ADSL2+, I do feel being much faster. But probably have something to do with my new modem compare to my crusty 4 years old one.
  13. For gym use, CX300 may not be best because of how they are worn in your ear, you will hear your own footsteps as you run on treadmill etc... For gym use, Sennheiser sports range are quite good (there are 4-5 models depends on your wearing preference), almost all models are sub-$100 and they are water resistent. They are the lime green ones, pat them with wet towel then hang air dry for cleaning and take out the sweats. I would guest sound quality is not the top priority when you are working out anyway, there is no need to called for B&O, Shure and the likes. Edit: typo
  14. How can you blame them for slowing you down when you downloading 65GB a month?

    Bluff Oysters

There were some in the Fish Market downtown Auckland (near the tank farm). Been out of stock in the last few days though.
  16. I only read them if they are given away. (Quite often in central Auckland CBD actually)
  17. No it's not. lt has a 5-digit, personalised plate.
  18. I am not sure if I am allowed to say the plate here. But it's a 2004 530i NZ New. (I was on site)
  19. Some buy those cars for their "wang" factor. Once again proves size of wallet is not proportion to the size of certain male body part.
  20. 6-800 a week in my VW Polo diesel, weekend on the e46 Compact for a 100km or so.
  21. Do you plan to buying privately or from a car yard? Budget? If you are buying privately or from a non-BMW dealer, you might want the car to go thru a BMW dealer pre-purchase inspection. General consense here is that AA check don't tell you much compare to a BMW dealer one. They cost about the same. Go see/research as many as you can, you'll realise there are many different combinations in the car (equipment like radio, steering wheel style, wheel style, trim colour, etc....). Find one that you like if you can, you'll enjoy your car more. If the car have unknown service history, do a coolant change asap. Use the genuine BMW stuff only (they are very reasonbly priced) This is often overlook by many people (especially not serviced by BMW dealers) but will give you grief down the road if you ignore this. I am sure many others here can tell you more on more technical stuff.
  22. I agree that they are not "beginner's technique", but they are still useful on the road. They are not "essential" skill but will help reduce wear-and-tear on the car's components, not to mention more control of the car. I use heel-toe a lot on day-to-day basis, but I can't use left-foot brake on my car being a VW, on board computer will kill the throttle after 1 second of left foot braking. Same for Audi too.

    Issue

I thought ownership paper needs to be filed with match details by both parties (seller and buyer) to make it complete. Why not have the seller check with LTSA (or LTNZ?) to confirm the details?
  24. I found that funny, hope you like it.
  25. That was on the harbour bridge south bound just before Shelly Beach Road off ramp.
