Ok, so its just happened again. Was driving along, radio went off, airbag and abs light came on, all interior lighting was dimmed but motor kept running. Almost seems like the accessories are running from the battery draining it but the motor is still powered by the alternator. Is there a relay or something that can cut the connection from the alternator to the battery to stop it charging?

Welcome, and good to see another local member. Make sure you come to our next meet in afew weeks so we can have a wee looksy at the e30 Looks like a nice car but agree with wheels and headlights. -
My mates rb20de+t had "a miss underload", it then melted a piston from detonation...

Try Milland on trademe

Looks like a good score, and im sure it'll be a great drive back! Maybe I should buy the one i test drove for the missus...

Cheers Matt tourings are where it's at! Trying to convince the missus into a touring since she wants a new car thats also suitable for the "future" aswell. Pity she's not overly fussed on bmws or tourings...I'm sure we can change that

Wasn't quite quick enough to get a pic but in the supermarket carpark was my e36 with two other e36's That had parked next to it. The missus thought I was nuts when I made a big deal about it. But so did the young guy who was in the one right next to me to his missus! They just didn't understand...

Yea it's a shame they moved it. I guess they saw it as a good ploy to get the followers to sign up to sky. And don't worry Andy, I couldn't name 3 all blacks ether
-
Yes, they're mine, my preciouses! well, the sedan sadly isn't any more
-
The v8s I usually watch, but they've moved to sky sport now so used that as an excuse to get it installed this week which I'm glad I did, so much other motorsport awesomeness I've been missing!! But the DTM will be amaizing to watch! Bring on those lazy Sundays....

I'm running 19x9.5 35 offset with 245,35s on my touring and guard wise it's pretty good for clearance with just a roll. Running jamex superlows

Maybe you should just buy some softer springs and then keep the car? The m sport ones look waaaay better than a standard one!
-
Why are you selling yours just to buy another just like it...

One of our electrical wholesalers delivery guys got to go to the Wanaka Snow park last year and burn round in the xdrive trucks and I'm pretty sure he doesn't own a BMW. He is a professional golfer tho... Also lucky you Jeffbebe, sounds like you had a blast. And that totally sucks Tom that youve never had an invite. Goes to show they'd rather try chase potential buyers than existing buyers. A shame really. Let us know when you pick up your new GT3 RS

Your just jelious you didn't get it first

Looks tidy, good work. Youl be kicking yourself you didn't cross over years ago

I'd rather pay that for BMW than 15-20k odd for the Maori plate!
-
Ahhhh yes, had that before too. Will give it a good look over tomorrow before I go getting a new battery.
-
I thought it might of been the alternator but the charging light should of come on and when I roll started it shouldn't of worked as the alt woundnt of being making any power. Will do some investigating tomorrow.

So I took the M3 for a drive this evening to look at a perky. I made a stop to get gas, went to the job for about 10mins. Left, then went for a blast on one of our great roads from portabello up over highcliff road then back home- about a 45min non stop drive. Just as I was pulling into my street the airbag light came on. Then as I was reversing up my drive I managed to stall it then went to restart but wouldn't as for some reason the battery was dead so had to roll start it. Once I got it into the garage the abs light was now on aswell so turned the car off and tried to restart but just got clicking of the starter. The car has only been going since last week and I had the battery on the charger untill it went back into it so was fully charged. And when I started the car the 3 times tonight there was no sign of it struggling to turn it over from a flat battery either so why has it all of a sudden just lost all power even though it should of being charged while it was running? Anyone else had this happen to them? Guess I'm getting a new battery this weekend
