Thanks Glenn, will enquire at dealers and Gavin (most places only have 8mm)

E30 fuel hose (connecting hose under the intake manifold) on my m40 is leaking. Its happens when I'm spiralling down the levels of the carpark, or I take a corner too quick when the car's still cold. Simply perished hoses or something more sinister ? Will be replacing the hose regardless, just wanted some more ideas on what other things I should inspect when I got everything apart. Cheers

the bus lanes have a 7-9am or 4-6pm sign attached in Auckland. They aren't permanently bus lanes. If you drive/park on them outside those hours, you won't get fined/towed. Thats my understanding anyway
-
How does this affect Bus lanes? i.e bus lane on the LHS. Does the bus lane count as a "lane" or they just turn straight onto the R/H lane?

All the best for your future endeavours, you've always been a great person to deal with (along with your team).

Cheers Mark! Yea, just the small things that make e30's loveable

took it for a spirited drive. Handles like new when driving normally, no more thuds or clunks over speedbumps/braking/rough road. Shimmy was gone, absolutely MINT on the motorway @100km/h, very responsive steering. A small twitch and the car's eager to turn. During turns at higher speeds, the car just feels stable, and the return to center is great, doesn't jerk, just nicely comes back to it. Mark: the ride is ok, the ride was already terrible from the worn bushes. The vibrations from the road is a little more noticable, but road noise did not significantly increase. Thank god i was sensible and didn't go the for "race" 90sHa All in all, nothing THAT spectacular, drives better than my moms '04 Civic, but apart from being sharper, not much of a big leap Next on the list: New top strut mounts (very noticeable play) Sort out the soft brakes Find Bilsteins for my H&R's Rear bushes replacement in Spring

hopefully it will. Cheers for dropping the gear off as well, made the day easier, shot!

Been ages since anything significant has happened with this car, but started doing the bushing replacement, so time for an update! Full set of 80sha bushes. Removed old bushing with a hammer and chisel Pressing in the new ones (m3 eccentric, took my time lining up the markings) Replaced rack ends and tie rod, the rack end was a b*tch to take out (mainly due to lack of tools and maneuverability) Started getting dark, so re-installed control arms to make tomorrow's job easier Shoved everything back into the garage, and called it a day After today, newfound appreciation for BFH's and WD-40

Got bored, so doing prep work for replacement parts. Instead of going back and forth with the Bentley manual, made this instead. Straight copy/paste of figures

Thread Dig ! After 18 months, finally got around to order them Weirdest form of CAB i've seen, but at 350NZD for the full set (incl. 2 weeks shipping from Poland), i'm keen to see how they turn out. Will be swapping them in 2 stages; Front set with new control arms and rack ends. And in Spring, taking the car off the road for 2 weeks to do a rear subframe maintenance. The bottom half is easily pressed into the Lower control arm, sitting flush with shaft end. The bush encases a bit of the lower wing CAB is in two pieces Far right is the lower end of the bush, the grooves are for the control arm shaft end

You can buy new long wheel based A4 2.4's for around 50k NZD in China. Its all about branding and "face" value over there. Long wheel based 5 series sold out in a few hours when introduced in 2010. BMW just wants a share of the market , the average person that buy cars in China doesnt care about electric windows or satnav, as long as they have a car that appears to make them better off than their neighbours/friends/colleagues/cousins is pretty much all that matters. You can still buy fully optioned cars, but no ones going to look inside it or know the difference either way.

NSFW lol

is the play from the power steering rack ends? if so, you can buy them new from Gavin (EuroItalia).
-
just wondering if i should use lithium grease, copper grease, or just dish washing liquid to slip the lollipop bush onto the control arm shaft? I don't want the polyurethane bush to prematurely degrade from the wrong grease Thanks

as soon as you tick the "modified" column, combined with age etc, its a b*tch. My excess is 50% of the insured value. Technically, your BBS' are factory so just run with that. Just set your value at 2500 or something
-
did you visit AMI in office or over the phone? you will get two different experiences with their service.
-
From Gavin at EuroItalia, highly recommended. Great service and excellent pricing. Now just waiting for some bushes

^probably to tell us the m5 will gobble other cars up

http://www.wheelbearingwarehouse.com/Sympt...ub_Bearing.html I have a shim/vibration in the steering wheel from 80+ kms. Thought it was the wheel bearing maybe, so found this site. Turns out most likely control arm. Very nice info relating and surrounding steering issues

what Hybrid said, Worth it if you keep the car for more than 2 years

its a decent camera at least... i think the person was emphasising their Ghia fetish. Seriously, the person was trying a bit hard to be artistic and sell the emotional aspects of that Ford

Bump Very good service, and he doesn't d*ck around with postage. Cheers! no more sore thumbs from a broken winder
