I am getting some engine oil from SCA tomorrow, the engine has done 150K and fairly good condition, anybody know how much oil it needs? I will drain it and refill it, I heard it was 7.5 liter? also what oil should I go with semi synthetic or synthetic?? I was thinking to go 10w 40?

I was replacing the valve cover gasket today, and the internals seems to have a bronze colour? I found some red ish burned up oil on my valve cover which I hosed off(couldn't be bothered sand blasting it) and used degrease to clean but it became yellowish. and the stains now wont come off the valve cover not that I care much. But the fuel cap also had some burned red ish oil stains on it which I managed to clean up well. Does this look normal or am I in deep head gasket trouble? Car doesn't have any power loss, drives fine for hundreads of k's, no overheating, no white smoke, oil in coolant or any HG symptoms I am used to. Just checking, putting things back on after I try to clean the valve cover again tomorrow and dry it up.

wow! Guys does this valve guide seals or whatever affect older e36 cars motors as m52? that's what I drive. I am doing some maintenance on the car now so would like to know if there's something like this I should check? any smoke or something?

cheap. supercheap.

But I like the word Blond instead. Blonde reminds me of Clint Eastwood from the good bad and ugly. You know how tuco yells BLOND EEE. me and a few friends write dating blogs and approach guides to run day/night game, PM me.

what kind of modifications are you doingto your stock manifold? I was originally thinking to replace mine but I'd rather keep them stock. does your modification make any difference then maybe some of us could get it done the same way. sorry, I jumped the shark and read m52 + manifold and forgot to read exhaust. I thought he was talking about intake, then when I read it again I deleted my post mine look like they are cast, not ss.

I can feel andy's reaction now

I dont get it, Leigh translates = Blond. Am I missing something here? amber blond. its a combination of headlamps + indicators. Don't mind these guys, they see a girl online and they become all gooey and goofy doing stuff to get attention. many of them are married, too secured with desk jobs to accept rejection or loners who would look but be shy to approach you (or any girl) during the day/night unless they are drunk (beer + friends helps boost confidence), they will run away if they sense you are on to them, so you have nothing to worry about. Personally I think blonds are overrated anyway, but i would probably buy you ice tea for being a cool bmw chick, chat and take the opportunity to take your number too!

Forums come, forums die, we meet new people and we make contacts that live on for longer. I used to lurk this place for years and even before buying my 318i I was browsing, seemed more active back them but things like this change. Honestly I may just run the euro plates if they look good / close enough, I mean I never (NEVER) get pulled over for anything, and I might want to run them. (Dont want to shell out $500 to print out euro plates. I feel most cops are also over it, its been 5 years since they were getting crazy with this. Anyway. I want everything you have to offer I will PM you.

I just like the E36 more then the E30. I know the E30 still have a cult following in NZ and is a great car in its own respects, and overall the better drivers car, to me it just feels to me too old and underpowered unless you are doing engine swaps which I cant/wont shell out for. One day I might just want to own a E30 with a e36 m3 motor, or a m5 but now is not that time to invest in something like that. I haven't heard from Ollie so looks like I will have to go with your plates. Really sorry about the mix up of usernames But shes not "mine" so no hard feelings sharing and caring. its my flavor of the month. so you can haz Now that you mention, i also thought its Earthly Andy or something. *double face palm*

I like A to B cars that just keep running, I have one myself. 8 Seconds is as fast as my 318i But I am crackig up at the video, sorry I cant get rid of the thought of how funny It would be to see a chick(you) dressed up all cool with the sunglasses and everything pull up next to me in that ute/truck/football mom thing with the music playing inside.

sensors and everything were in few days ago but I am still waiting for the rest of the parts to show up, hopefully by the end of this week if not next. then I will change the gaskets and everything and fire her up. my fathers health has also put things a bit behind.

I'll take them. sending pm
-
is he? then why the hell does his username say e30 instead of e36? my mistake wasn't intentional as I could have sworn I remember seeing his username as e36_andy few months ago, now hes downgraded it to e30. maybe its just my mind affixed on e36's so all I think is everybody is a e36 something. I don't drink...anymore... but I think I might know this skinny blond school girl I meet that we could try to share.

got it got it! sorry my mistake, i just remembered your name from reading something last year so recalled it was E xx something andy. I will sort something out. thanks
-
okay, sent him a message, hopefully he will get back and if he has the graphics that he may be willing to give then perhaps I could have it printed, otherwise I will go with andys europlates..
-
do you have a pair or the graphics file I can have please? I am willing to pay you but I need it if I want to get it printed from the trader on trademe that makes these plates surrounds. I asked him to print me one but they don't have the files and asked if I can get them from here.
-
I want a pair please?? or if you can send me the design file I can have it printed by that guy on trademe who prints this stuff.

Euro plates are Illegal? tell me more, Okay maybe I will take my chances or with the euro frames, where do I get the frames that look like that?
-
While towing my car week ago the tow rope snapped and took off my euro plate surround. I saw the bimmersport ones and would love to have them. Also I read some stuff about euro plates that e30 andy was taking about. So I just want some information and 'contacts" to grab a set of euro plates or surrounds. whatever works.

check my topic titled car shut down in this section. I was having same issues which I first thought was an vacuum leak on the intake boot, but it turned out to be the cam and crank sensors which were bad. be afraid, be very afraid as I ignored the issue as it didn't come back till one day when it stopped by car as I was coming off the motorway, imagine it shutting down as you take a high speed corner. What a headache that was getting it back home, the sensors cost around $150 each from milland and easy to do on your own. But first get it scanned from a shop and find the problem as soon as you can. Before the problem gets worse. Because they can only get worse pretty fast and when they go out in the middle of the road you would be pushing it or have to call a tow or wait hrs before things cool down. Try Ray @hellbm. I know this guy, hes in auckland and I got some work done & bought loads of parts before I started working on my own car and joined the forum.
-
but its a really decent car overall and $8000 ain't exactly cheap to some young 20 year old, old man I ordered the parts yesterday. expecting them to arrive today or monday. was waiting to update the thread once parts got here but there you go, some updates edit: just got 1/2 my parts from milland, but the rest of my order is coming from germany. time to go to work

I was thinking to order the Bkr6equp from ebay as the price is 1/3 ~ 1/2 of that in NZ. But nowhere did I see if they are compatible with the 1995 M52/328i motor found in my e36?? I mean is the size correct? they only list 1996 + M3's. Are they the same size and everything? is there any "gap settings" or just regular torque down do? Otherwise how are bosh platinum ones? I hear they are pretty popular in the US? They also can be had for pretty cheap in trademe and even cheaper in ebay. anybody here mind using the NGK BKR6EK?? I see a lot of people use them in the us, they are 2 prong and dirt cheap, down side you change them more often
