Nothing special. Trying to swap a JVC and a Pioneer - one has an Aux input, which is what Miss M wants to keep. Of course, that's not on the unit in the Ti which is a CD/Radio only. Different connectors, of course.

... While the other raised tax 18 times, and forgot 17 of those when asked, has built the biggest debt the country has ever seen, and promises to continue selling assets to the highest bidder (which, recent history tells us, is not someone living here). In the run-up to the election, National are throwing money in every conceivable direction. Like 'em or hate 'em, you can thank Labour for that. If National were sitting on a significant majority at the polls, there wouldn't be promises of spending (which they're unlikely to be allowed to forget, should they win). Of course, if National don't win, Labour will theoretically have access to that money. Neither major party has a complete picture, or appears to offer anything by way of trying to see a bigger picture. At least we are all-but guaranteed a situation where the support of a minor party will be required. That may temper any activities and policy enactment.

Tried to swap the radio/CD units between the 318Ti and the 318i. Should be straightforward, except a butcher has been at the 318i. Bullet connectors? Who needs them? Cut them off, and use the 'twist wires and insulation tape method. Except where you can use a massive piece of chocolate block. Bare wire? No problem - it's in a plastic surround anyway. I hate fixing other people's crap. (The Ti looks fine. ) Of course, the chocolate block is so far back in the dash that it's almost impossible to get to. (There's a piece that's not shown in the photos.)

I don't think your price point is unreasonable. Finding a seller may be more difficult.

I think Photobucket are trying to go commercial - unless they seriously up their game, it'll be the end of them. flickr is said to be good. I just use Google Drive.

A friend has an E9x coupe in a similar colour, with black wheels. Looks very, very nice.

Car for sale. Not local, so arrange for someone to have a look. Agree price. Make arrangements to fly down (one-way tickets for two people), book hotel. Confirm with seller. "Oh, sorry no it won't happen." We have "decided to keep." Well, that's firmly pi$$ed on my cornflakes this morning. $00s on non-refundable, non-transferable airfares.

It is. Take the path less trodden, that sort of thing. I was 18 when I bought my first Mercedes. A particularly ratty 1960s 4-door with a 4.5 V8 and 4-speed manual gearbox. (Turns out it was a bitsa - Mercedes never made a car in that spec.) It may have needed bump-starting more than was reasonable, but when your mates have a Mini Metro or something similarly crap and you can throw a Merc keyring on the table, people pay attention! Back on topic (sorta) - when we go on hols I have my phone with me. Switched off. If you want to sleep better, turn your mobile off before going to bed. Don't put it on silent - off. Your brain knows it'll not ring and can actually relax. It's nice to get away from technology.

You drive an E28. The exception that proves the rule.

Just saw someone asking for an E36 manual coupe on Facebook - I've passed the details of your car along.
-
Thanks SJ. I've updated the rego details (renewed through Jan 2018) in the first post. As the listing says... Make me an offer!
-
Yup. A particularly sore point with me, too. What's worse, the people who do this generally pay less for a good car than other people end up paying for a rougher example.
-
I saw the pics - looks like it was a good day out. One day, I too will park an E30 with everyone else... Just need to build it, first!

1990 Motorsport (Mtech 2) 325i 'vert (automatic box) for sale in the UK. Significantly less mileage than either the silver or black ones linked in this thread, and at current exchange rates, at least 10% cheaper. http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/bmw/e30/211301
-
If anyone down south is interested, we could bring the car down to Whanganui on the 23rd.
-
No rego, no WoF... Who cares? It's not like you're going to get clamped or towed.

https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1413626867 And... Another one. Tempting to say they're not that rare after all...
-
They're either: Overpriced, too Exceptional VFM
-
M3s, maybe, but a M-tech (albeit from the factory) kitted 325i? Which - let's be honest - is what this is.
-
Excellent consumption. Loads. Up to 200 gallons an hour of 100RON at full chat. Uses a bit of oil, too. Up to 20 pints an hour.
-
De-tuned to 600hp and around 1500lb ft of torque. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1412621214 .. Probably won't fit in an E30, but should be OK in an E32.

The Mercedes 190E 2.3-16 is better than the BMW E30 M3

Johnny Cecotto and Kalus Ludwig - DTM Historical http://www.sportschau.de/dtm/video-johnny-cecotto-und-klaus-ludwig---ein-historisches-dtm-duell--100.html And they still really don't hang about! -
Happens all over the place - supermarkets, banks, government offices... Dozens of people queuing, but it's time for my break - see ya! I kinda sympathise, but it does look bad.
-
And... a 1988 Euro-spec M535i in NY state for US$2500. Actually, it's not in great condition, but the gearbox could be useful!

Updated with pics and some more details.
