Suspect not: "BM World in ChCh..." suggests location. if you want something special (like this) sometimes you have to travel.

I think it could be a bit high on price but perhaps not as much as you might think. It's NZ new. Which is in it's favour. The TM listing says it is a 1987 car and imported, but a VIN decode suggests it is actually NZ new and an April 1986 car. (Hmm. VIN decode.. mdecoder tells me I've exceeded my daily limit despite my using 3 completely different networks and not have checked anything in weeks; bimmer.work just goes around in circles.) More interestingly and very relevantly, it looks like this is NOT a 535i. It is a M535i. Which is another ball game. As such, it's rarer than might have been thought and I strongly suggest making the effort to get there and look at it. (I know - Chch to New Plymouth isn't easy.)

Where are you and what car/problem(s) do you have?

LCAs & CABs were done twice while with me. Once because they needed to be done, and once because I thought they needed to be done (but they didn't). Trans fluid & filter was an annual service thing. Normally soon after Christmas when the weather was good and I had a bit of time off work. I'd planned for a set of Konis, probably the reds instead of yellows. B4s will work well too. Keen to hear how you get on with the turbo!

E30 Garage are manufacturing as close as possible to original spec. The manufacture a complete E30 M3 kit in better quality steel than BMW used, and to the same thickness to ensure as good a fit as possible. Their parts are used in E30 M3 restorations worldwide, and could be used to create a M3-a-like from any E30 coupe. They'll make any E30 M3 panel part, from front spoilers and wings to C-pillar and roof. Some parts, like the C-pillars, are only to order. They bought all remaining M3 panel stock that was available through BMW in Germany, which does kinda give them a bit of a monopoly on those parts.

Prices are all over the place. Just seen a nice-looking (photos only) grey 4-door 1989 318i converted at some point to manual, seats look good. $6k Also seen a 318 advertised at $21k.

If the opportunity arises, check the bootlid under the third brake light. I don't know what they did for the NZ new cars but we replaced the boot lid on the Baur because the light was fitted so badly, with leaks and zero prep causing rusting across 60% of the underside.

I'd go with the roller rockers, but I have a bit of a 'thing' for them. To be fair, it is probably simpler to rebuild the top end than it is to replace pistons, rods or crank. And the top end can always be done later.

E30 is a better-looking car, imho. E36 is quite possibly a better car (interior trim excepted.) M44 in an E30 is a fabulous performance change. M43 in an E30 provides better performance than most E30 4-cylinder engines, is reliable, and economical. (But no-one does this!) I do feel an E30 with a 4-cylinder engine is sportier, and with a 6-cylinder engine is more suited as a lovely cruiser. Just a weight distribution thing. And I know many people will disagree.

My first thought was battery, too. Andy suggested tyre pressures - valid, and easy to check. Miss M has a modern BMW. Dad needs a scan tool. 🤣

2013 F20 116i. Just been for a WoF, passed with no issues at all. Next day... Dashboard does a poor impression of a Christmas Tree. Poor because it's only a few lights. Speed limiter is also not working. The ol' IT standby - turn it off and turn it n again - clears it temporarily. Cleared yesterday, used this morning without issue, came back this evening. Before anyone asks - I don't have immediate access to a code reader! ABS issue, speed sensor, brake pad wear sensor...? Edit: Going to check tyre pressures ASAP. iDrive hasn't mentioned them as an issue, but the warning light is on and it's an easy thing to check.

When we moved to NZ we had use of a Suzuki Swift for a fee weeks. We managed to fit almost all of the needed items for setting up a house into that, with three people. (My family believes I am a Tetris champion.) I think a Ti is probably bigger!

Sunday? Saturday late morning - 10.00 - on is difficult, assuming the tyre place is open at all at the weekend. (Could well be a non-urban centre thing, of course.) And yes - the 'discounts' now being offered are a pale imitation of what we saw only a few months ago. 25% max, whereas 40% was usual. And when buying a new tyre there is a 'Tyrewise Stewardship Government Fee' applied at checkout which should cover the cost of disposal of end-of-life tyres, yet some places are still charging a tyre disposal fee, too.
