Thanks Andrew. Is it possible they are asking for something that doesnt exist? i can understand it for things like asbestos in brake pads and dangerous chemicals in oil and antifreeze, but I cant see why there would be one for a big lump of aluminium?
-
I would, but I really want this engine. Its been really hard tracking one down in decent condition.
-
It will be drained of fluids anyway, but apparently they want a msds of the engine itself to make sure it has no hazardous materials.

I'm trying to import an engine from Australia for my project car, and I've run into a roadblock. The freight company needs a Material Safety Data Sheet of the engine before it can be sent. I've tried looking online but can find one for engines - just ones for bmw oils, antifreeze, paint etc. Can someone tell me where to look or who to ask?

Yea 4.5 looks a little ghetto. Twin 3 would be way better imo.

Those mounts look nice and strong. Are you going solid mount?

Mates don't let mates buy cars with N46's.
-
Just replace your tyres mate.

Beautiful car. What is your dream car?
-
These n46 motors are crap, but it would be unusual for the rings to go. With these its usually valve stem seals

I managed to drill it out and install my ignition barrel. Thanks for the help guys. I couldnt swap the housings over as the housing was damaged
-
What size drill bit do you recommend?

Hi guys I'm replacing the steering column on my e46 daily as the old one is damaged. I've swapped everything over from my old one so far except for the ignition barrel. I managed to get my good ignition barrel out using my key and a bit of wire. But I cant get the barrel out of the replacement steering column as there is no key for it. How to remove ignition barrel with no key? It doesnt matter if it gets damaged, as the barrel is being replaced with my existing one anyway. Can anyone advise?

I'm in talks with a few people overseas about a 4.6 engine so hopefully I can land one soon. Ive been working on the dry sump setup in the meantime
-
Was this the one from Auckland?
-
@BatMansWilly Didnt you have a spare?
-
Thanks, but doing it that way is more expensive than a s62. If you get any wrecked 4.6is let me know
-
Probably out of my price range, but what is the price and kms on the engine?
-
Price and kms?

As the title says, I'm looking for a m62b46 for my project car - any condition considered. I'm chatting to a couple of blokes in the UK and Australia, but if I can buy one local that will save alot of hassle.
-
Thanks. Can I ask what it cost you, and will it pass cert? It looks like you supplied some e46 ends for it?
-
Great progress. Is the steering shaft one that you made, or bought from a company?
-
Lols he says little damage to the seat yet the car was written off.
-
Will an e36 alternator fit the e30?

Kayne Barrie is the man to ask. He knows these things inside out.
