Worn tyres don't stop an alignment being done. It sounds like they were giving you excuses. I would be getting it aligned by a proper place as you don't want your new tyres to get excessive wear because of the toe being out.
-
This demonstrates why you should always go to a good alignment place. Autolign is the only place I will go in the future.

NZPost and CourierPost are absolutely terrible. I don't know why people use them instead of just about any other courier service.

Losing Steve's knowledge on here is a great loss.

Who are you reffering to?

That was clearly a joke....... Anyway, good to see it getting resolved now.

A couple of times Dave has said something I disagree with, and both times I have discussed the subject with him in the relevant thread. Dave is straight up and doesn't bs and I appreciate that because I am the same way, and this place should be all about the discussion. I am a huge proponent of free speech, and if he was banned for previous comments then that is ridiculous as we are all entitled to our opinions. He also is happy to help others, and has helped me out in the past, and has good knowledge and insights to share with the community. I also consider him a friend, so Dave if you are reading this, we miss you and want you back.

I just upgraded my lighting in my little shed. I had a few old mismatched flouro tube lights and just put in 17 1.5m flouro lights so its super bright. I got them off trademe for $10 each including the tube and they honestly like they are new. Just to demonstrate that you can get good results for little money.

Yea, its a service item. And replacing an old partially clogged one will put less strain on the rest of the fuel system.

Mates 328i e36 was having missing and hesitation problems, and we swapped out the fuel filter and problem solved. It was really hard to blow through the old filter.

From my research; 1 Try redline for cheap mufflers. 2 You can cut up the factory heatshields from e36/e46 etc and they are surprisingly good. 3 Definitely ceramic coating and make sure you get the insides done too. Heat wrap will shorten the life of your headers.

only way to know for sure is to take the diff cover off and have a look. It means replacing the oil but that should be done regularly on an lsd anyway. It also means you can clean the insides much better than doing an oil change the conventional way.

4.44? If its an lsd it should start with an "S"

I'll let others chime in but I'm pretty sure 98 wont make any difference over 95.
-
Great work. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference after you replace the fuel filter as I bet that old one is pretty blocked up.

Goes to show that being 100kg lighter is more important than having a bit more hp and torque.

Looks like he has got his mate to defend him in the comments section lol

Black Sapphire Metallic and Estoril Blue.

Yea I saw this one yesterday and the guy is dreaming

Having driven both a e39 wagon and 3 e46 wagons, the e46 is just so much better. The only real advantage I found with the e39 is more interior space.

+2 for Taylor Automotive If you are stuck at home for the lockdown, now is the perfect time to clean the motor yourself and save a few dollars. Also, Taylor Automotive will prefer the engine disassembled.
