  1. I see this all too often unfortunately. Someone destroys about 5 parts trying to get the 1 part they want.
  2. Also bear in mind you want a decent ecu to get the best out of it. Hyde claims you dont but that is just marketing.

    Quick Questions

If you can tighten the bolt tight enough it might be able to be used to release the tension on the tensioner. If not, your tensioner might be faulty?

    Quick Questions

Can you get a spanner onto #7?
  5. The guy that makes those kits was on this forum, before he got banned. His kits have numerous problems, and I have not heard of even one working properly yet.

So engine cranks but wont start? Have you got another key you can try? Maybe post your keys, ews etc to gabe?
  10. If they wont refund your money or fix the problem it may be best to name and shame. I had a dodgy wheel alignment done once, and it destroyed my front tyres. Now I only go to places I can trust.
  11. Only to get money back and then take it to a proper place. I wouldnt let them near it again.
  12. Autolign is the best http://www.autolign.co.nz/
  13. How about starting a thread on your M3 - I would love to see it. And also your ford escort - I built a 1976 rs2000 replica as my first car. That might be a more constructive way of introducing yourself.

    Help needed...

I'm happy to come down and help. I just don't have the knowledge on the diesels, so hopefully someone can chime in with some advice, or some troubleshooting.
  17. I wonder why it was so tight? Maybe it had had a shunt, or had rusted in?
  18. Well done. I admire your dedication.
  19. I try to avoid 'the tardis'.
  20. I did ask her if she dropped the key and she said no, but I suspect otherwise.
  21. FIXED! So @Gabe79 scanned the ews and the key, and it turns out the key was faulty. Weirdly it had no transponder chip in it so thats a bit of a mystery. So a bit of coding later and the car fires up. Big thanks to Gabe, and everyone else who gave advice. I've learnt my lesson and am getting spare keys cut for all my cars at the locksmith today.
  22. I've made my own for my e46 out of 3mm aluminium. 3mm ali is not going to protect against a major rally crash but it also acts as a underbody tray to aid in aero, and aid in cooling.
  23. Yea, I did try that. I also tried swapping batteries.
  24. Thanks, I will try and get transport to come see you.
  25. Do you have the ability to tell whether the ews is stuffed or not?
