  1. Hi guys, Looking for a late model M20B25 engine, that is running. Need ECU and loom and all that jazz as well. PM me if youve got anything. Cheers! Also im in Auckland so the closer the better!
  2. From what iv read the doesnt the 240 only bolt onto the 4 cyl E30s? Because if it will work on an M20 then thats great! Because theres a lot more of them around and for cheaper. So just getting this straight, go for the manual conversion first on the 323i. And preferably find a later M20B25 and we should be golden. I hear that the B23 and B25 bellhousings are different though?

  4. Also, if i was to get a Getrag 260, would it work on my M20B23? And then in future on a M20B25? Alternatively would my current 4 sp Auto box from the 323i work with a M20B25? Just need to know options and interchangeability for the boxes. I understand the bellhousing might be different so wondering if theres certain boxes and engines which go together, Thanks

  6. Hey guys, Would you happen to know if a E28 full manual conversion kit would fit on an E30? One has popped up for sale from an M20 powered car, and kinda want to jump on it ASAP cause its a steal. Getrag 260 box btw. Will the pedal box etc all fit in? Thanks for your input.
  7. Do you have any complete M20B25's for sale? Or even enough parts to slap together a stroker? Itll need to have the ECU and loom, but not too fussed about powersteering pump, alternator, ac pump etc.
  8. So list: Engine including all pumps, manifolds etc ECU Loom Gearbox (260 and all the manual stuff) Engine mounts Do i need the expansion tank from a newer E30 or can i use my current one? Also can i reuse my current radiator and just plug up the auto trans cooling lines? Would the current auto trans from my 323i fit on an B25? Just so i can get it up and running and then later on add the manual trans? Anything anyone else could add would be great! Thanks
  9. Sorry iv been tied up this weekend and with uni starting tomorrow it sucks i have no time right now to look into this. Earliest ill get time is next Sunday, i guess i gotta wait till then. Maybe in that time ill take my battery out and get it tested again because its quick.
  10. Hey man, if already got a M20B23 in the car at the moent Ill have to try find one as complete as possible. Would it bolt into the existing auto trans? Because i would need to probably save up for the manual conversion after the engine swap.

  13. The battery was under the bonnet and it had this problem, i used new wires to relocate it to the boot and its still doing the same thing so i dont think its the connections. Ill have a look at the battery. Thanks guys for the help so far!
  14. Ill try another battery hopefully that sorts me with starting. It occasionally starts but once in a blue moon. Yeah suspected inhibtor switch for the auto. Right now i dont have the funds but i want to manual convert. Thatll take care of that haha. Or so i hope.
  15. E30 sorry, ill give that a go, ill find out what the correct CCA rating is for the E30. I have read that a group 49 sized battery will fit in the boot, is it beneficial to get a bigger battery? Or better to run one with the same CCA rating?
  16. Hi guys, so i see that a similar thread to this one was posted a few weeks ago on here but i thought id make my own as i have my own set of problems. The car wont start, which is next to no help for anyone who wants to help me diagnose the problem. So the car used to start occasionally in Neutral only (Auto Trans), and i thought doing it this way would be okay until even that stopped working. When we jump the battery is starts every time but the battery has been tested and it seems fine? When you turn the key you can hear the fuel priming, it just wont turn the engine over. As i said i have had the battery tested and have been told its fine, however when i jump it the car starts perfectly. And because iv been told the battery is fine i dont really want to spoend money on a new battery if the problem lays elsewhere. Could it be the starter? I have no clue, but i have been told (admittedly the person who told me that literally just had a glance) it could be the starter. This is the ONLY thing holding the car back from being my daily, i have put in a lot of work over the last few weeks these holidays getting it all nice. Once the car can start everytime no problem, itll be on the road and i cannot wait for that! Thanks for any help you guys can give me, it is much appreciated!

    E30 M52 Swap

    I have looked into this quite a bit over the last couple months and theres a M50B25 for sale from an E34 at the moment. But as my luck has it i cant pick it up right as uni starts in a week or two so thats a shame. For a daily driver i have also looked into going to a M20B25 instead. I figured it might be safer to stick with an engine i know and can work on. But a 24v conversion will happen eventually. I shall start collecting parts as soon as i can!   18. Hi there, So i have a '85 323i that has a tired M20B23 in it and i was looking to swap in an M20B25. I am confident doing everything EXCEPT the wiring, any tips/pointers/help on this? Also because the 323 is L-jet, what will i need to change besides the engine itself and the ECU to make it a motronic? I will be keeping the auto 4 speed for now as i know its possible but once the engine is done id put in a Getrag 260. I am not doing the swap right now, just need a bit of info on what ill need to do etc. I understand things like engine mounts etc can be used, but i will be upgrading them anyways. Reasons for staying M20 and not going M50/52 is that i have been working on the engine for a while and know my way around it reasonably okay. Parts are plentiful and information is everywhere. Its a cheap simple little engine that i can handle so hence the choice if you were wondering As always, ANY help would be much appreciated as this swap isnt covered a lot on the interweb.   19. Do you have out of an E30 coupe the seat belt anchor for the driver and passanger? Its like a rail where the seat belt is looped around

  22. Does this have the 25mm Brake master cylinder that can be swapped into E30's by any chance?

  24. Hi Guys, I was at a pick a part and i scored some nifty vinyl and cloth seats out of a Porsche 928! They need a bit of love in the form of restitching but ill get that done later. Theyre surprisingly very similar to the size of an E30 seat, which is great, and they look friggin' awesome too, and being manual operated seats i dont need to worry about wiring. But for now id really appreciate some help on getting them in. I realise that the seat belt is attached to the existing seat in my '85 sedan E30. I was wondering if i could grab the seat belt rail out of a coupe and install them? That'll take care of the seat belt issue. And then i can get some plates fabbed up for the seat rails which shouldnt be too difficult. So on to the back seats. For obvious reasons i didnt get the 928 rear seats. BUT, i was thinking of going E36 leather rear seat, which comes with the middle arm rest (im hoping it lines up with the ski pass in the E30. I plan to knock out the metal and put hinges and a lock on it so i can open and close it from inside the cabin). I have seen the E36 leather rear seats being retrofitted into an E30 on a forum, but for the life of me i cant find it and trust me i have searched. I want to know how this can be achieved, or at least be pointed in the right direction. I know it is possible, but i need help on how. I think the 928 seats once recovered in black will look super mega awesome balls with a e36 black leather rear seat. Ill try get some photos up ASAP. But seriously, any help would be much appreciated! So in advance, thanks guys!
