  1. ahhh! that thing! thanks Gaz.
  2. we have more than one Hans here?
  3. have a thorough read on Bimmerfest on the following link - and download the latest "so you just bought an e60" (current version is Feb 2016 - it keeps getting updated. It's a very informative doc, helps you buy an e60 with a clear mind and knowlege of what to look for/what to expect. HTH
  4. holy cow. theme tune: poor cow. I see a heart transplant into somebody's e36 in this vehicle's future...
  5. the M54 as a package is also lighter than the M50.
  6. on the surface this looks disproportionate. The guy sounds like a twunt. as Ron points out, appeal denied. Our media has been reduced to largely meta-reporting Twitter and Facebook, and puff-pieces - like this story. One-sided, no investigation. Taking the humourous approach: his car could be impounded, and he is forced - for a year after getting his license back - to drive a Daewoo Matiz, with a speed limiter on it. Then has to pay $2500 per month storage, plus fees. If unable to pay, car sold to defray costs. Nope, doesn't work does it - the govt's core business is not car storage!! The bigger story here is that someone paid 60k for a south african fairmont XYGT look-alike? Good lord. You can get a sh*t-hot e30 M3 for that money, flights a room in a hotel, a good meal, champagne, a massage, insurance, and fuel to drive your newly acquired M3 home!
  7. Hi Kyu I did Power Stop rotors with Akebono Euro pads. IIRC freight cost me $180 from Florida (MyUS.com). Discs came to about USD380? Akebono Euro Pads I can't remember what I paid - the modulation is good, the initial bite is not as good as factory pads. They keep your wheels reasonably clean. I also got new caliper slider pins, boots, and sensors, and a tube of the ATE plastilube which is really good. If you're after some reasonable disks at today's exchange rate (I scored mine in late 2013, the exchange rate was more favourable), Herbmeister got some good slotted rotors recently form Australia - take a look at his project thread. HTH PS - next time I think I'll try Hawk Performance pads.
  8. bummer dude. it's not like caramel is your favourite milkshake flavour, either.
  9. is it registered and warranted? does this mean you'll be driving yourself to the wellington meetup on 10 April?!
  10. same here. refills in my original 13 year old wiper blades failed last year, bit bullet and went to Jeff Gray. $100 later I had fitted these new-fangled blades. They work well, wipe well. Nice clear vision. Only downside is the rubber they use only lasts 6 months - now wear is evident, and they're starting to chatter. I was getting longer life on Silicon. Looked at supersheep auto on the weekend, their equivalents come to about $90, and don't have the tidy clip profile. I'll stick with the BMW blades. Is there a source in NZ for the BMW wipers that is more reasonably priced than 100 clams? PN 61 61 0 037 027 cheers
  11. If I had a garage, I'd be in like Flynn.
  12. Sales? No mate, I do sell ideas, though. I work in IT. Please don't think any less of me, I do it to feed my family. Everyone needs tyres, it's not like ice to eskimos. Thinking about it, there are a few fields in which there is constant demand, rtegardless of economic circumstance. Haircuts (short of being bald or shaving your head/going hippie, all need haircut) Tyres (we wear them out, they build roads with chip seal) Funeral directors (the ritual of death never goes out of fashion) Doctor (people will usually try to remain here as long as possible before meeting the above) Bad news (the media) The oldest profession (I have read that there is always business) Fuel sales (at least for a few more decades, people will drive and need gas to do it) and, (if one was to believe the wheel magician website), mag wheel repairs Less-than constant demand: Clothes - there are always options when times are tight (mend what you have, thrift stores) Food - massive diversity, no guarentee you can sell food Coffee - contrary to popular belief, people without income will live without that $4.50 latte Dentistry (people put that off) Optician (supermarket or internet specs) So it's not too tough a sale, selling used tyres. One needs to find a market, and apply simple guidelines. Shhhh! Don't tell everyone! My views on "how to win at TradeMe". Write a good ad, break it down, make it simple. If you were looking to buy, what would you want to know about the item? display good images. Folks want to see what you're offering research your price and competition. no point trying to get a top-end price when there's ten of the same thing, cheaper. Make your market. answer questions promptly and politely (eliminate objections, as a salesman would say) be straightforward and easy to deal with. Folks fail at trademe because they're too bloody difficult to deal with, or write a lazy or poorly-worded advert with fuzzy poorly-lit photos, and make it difficult to understand what they're selling. Anyway, thanks for the positive comments. Nothing more to see here. Stinky black rubber bands have gone. Now to figure out if I should sell my Style 45s when this mini-project is complete. Olaf
  13. I've been gathering information. 33531094518 = 8mm E46 325It - 5mm - 33531136385 E36 325i - 7.5mm - 33531136386 E36 325i - 10mm - 33531136387 E46 325iX - 15mm - 33531094754
  14. "SOLD SOLD SOLD!" (as they say on those American shows featuring the noisy and verbose auctioneers). Thankfully these are not Sagitars or Effiplus.
  15. damn, they might have made a part-exchange for your springs! #; )
  16. PS - they're the 94W rating, not the wimpy 91 load-rated version. This no doubt makes them more useful for, well, keeping your rims off the road?
  17. now that's exactly what I figured they'd be attractive for: doing some skidz on #8 ) so Ahmed, these could, ultimately, be shredded... on the end of somebody's diff. And hey, if you were in a hole and just needed some llantas negras that hold air and pass a WoF until you can afford some real tyres, these are them. My tyre guy described them as being a fine tyre if all you're doing is punting around town... and added something like "until it rains", so they could be useful for skidpan training too! When you're done, you can add them to that retaining wall you've been building, or make a few tyre swings! How 'green' is that? Reduce, reuse, recycle... our dingbat mayor would be pleased I guess if you out--of-towners are keen, if you arranged it with Andy's Bimmersport Freight Services (™), I'd happily drop these out to Seaview. They is going on TradeMe tonight at $150, so snag yourself a cheap tyre bargain today. Hell, these are cheaper than a bottle of good Japanese 18YO Single Malt. You know it makes sense.
  18. I should point out: I'm not a tyre specialist, not in the motor trade; I'm just joe blogs selling them out of my company as they're not required. I don't have more to sell. thanks for looking!
  19. Fellow Bimmersporters Here's a bargain for those of you needing some rubber in 225/45/17 without impacting your beer budget. Yes, a set (FOUR ONLY) of HiFly's finest HF805, pre-loved. They're tyres, don't you know. They've been run on a staggered set, so two have crowned a little in the middle. WYSIWYG. Condition: No punctures: I've had a look around the inside of each; no puncture repairs! And they held air for me sunday/monday until removed from rims this morning. Tread Depths: from left to right in the image below: Left: 5mm (ranges from 6 to 5.1) Centre Left: 4.4mm (ranges from 5.1 to 4.4) Centre Right: 3.9mm (ranges from 3.9 to 6) Right: 3.5mm (ranges 3.5 to 5.9) General: honest used tyres. No warranty implied or expressed. Where? They're in Wellington. How much, Olaf? Before I put them on TradeMe, I thought I'd offer to Bimmersporters: $125 the lot (including GST). These cost about $115 each when new (according to the ads I've seen), so I figure that's a fair price including delivery in wellington. I'll deliver them to you for that price, as far north as Paraparumu, or Upper Hutt. Very happy to meet you in central Wellington! Oh, and for your entertainment (these are not my words) "HIFLY HF805 225/45/17/94/W. HiFly HF805 is a high performance, low noise tyre. The Unique assymetrical tread meets ultra high handling and traction requirements. Features include: Superb stability Low road noise Reliability Right, and in case your curiosity is getting the better of you, some pictures!! Fig 1: here's the identity parade photo from this afternoon: FIg 2: you were wondering if they were round, eh!? Here's the mug shot.

I think that was 'whilst approaching "close coupling" with the 4RE, our intrepid driver experienced a brown trouser moment'. #8 ) James, that's looking like a whole heap of fun!
