yeah, Welcome Peter! Do come along. #8 )

I used Car Inspection Services in CHC ten years ago; paid them good money, bought car on strength of their positive report, and spent the next three years fixing sh*t that they didn't report and was aparrent as soon as I got the car to Wellington. Don't waste your money with those turkeys.
-
you skinning them as well, Glenn? 'be a waste not to. A bloke I knew years ago started walking his boundaries every evening and every morning with a .22 with moderator and subs**, dispatching possums, rabbits, general pests. His pasture improved well beyond that of his neighbours, and his livestock condition improved to give him better prices at auction. ** don't try this in a residential area, readers!

typical cat-herding; they're taking half the direction, but not facing the camera. sigh. #; )
-
+4. cos not only are they stylish, but I'd like 4 stickers.
-
took my daughter's passport photo yesterday, the 'hamming it up' images of her and her brother are golden. life is good.
-
yeah looks good to me, well done #8 ) now to work on an easter edition: perhaps BMW bunny errr shagging an audi in cartoon form?

1. hunting vs farming. 2. never confuse sales with delivery. The good news was they turned up Tuesday and fixed it quickly - 'loose connection at pole'. I wonder if it was like the old days with copper pairs - new install nicked yer pair. blammo, dis. Anyway, our offspring are delighted they have internet again. I always read books. I'm reading Wishart's latest book about the Olivia Hope/Ben Smart disappearances. It's not a thrilling read like Lawyers Guns and Money or the Paradise Conspiracy, but it certainly is interesting. I'm half way through and already I am convinced that although the conviction may be unsound, they certainly have the right guy in prison.

"really good driver. seen a lot of accidents in his rear view mirror, though".
-
excellent. is there anything we can do influence your wife to make your plans saturday? when I was in the uk, I used Cooks Ferry Engineering. You could give them a try.
-
Mac, you've abandoned us in Vellington? what you seek may well be sorted on a thread on this very forum here:

thanks for that. given they're factor, big-ass floating rotors, not excessive. I'll put an M5 on my santa/lotto win list. #8 )
-
got your money's worth outa those pads! out of interest (in the 'could I ever afford to run/maintain an e39 M5)... what sort of money (ballpark) do BMW rotors, pads, wear sensors for the front, run you ?
-
think about this. the sensor circuit has continuity until it's cut. Then it's open-oircuit by getting cut-through when the pad thickness is down, bringing up the lamp. In which universe would re-installing the sensor with its wire cut, reset the circuit? The internets is a 'fail' here. Glenn is on the money. Get thee to your local BMW independent.

existing sky customers deserve all they get; poor service, high cost, lies.... Sky is for the lazy, the cool kids 'cut the cable' and went streaming a year or more ago. I'm just looking to wean my kids and Mrs off of sky-via-voda cable and we're done. next week's project is to get my Amazon Prime streaming working, and I'll be golden.

nahhhhhhhh - he's thinking "I've failed at Woollarding; shoulda opened the bonnet".
-
yeah, come on over, join the fray! Welcome back aboard, Paul. Lovely looking M3!
-
Is that Oisin Tymon at the table with pint in hand? #; )

Woollarding. It's a thing. Named after William Woollard, former Top Gear Presenter, who was renowned for adopting a specific pose while doing his pieces to camera: bonnet up one foot up on bumper discuss engine or performance. Fig 1: Woollarding defined, last century. (with thanks to realmotors.co.uk) so, get yer mates (or yer tripod, Nigel), and produce your Unofficial Bimmersport Woollarding Image, and post it to this thread. Linkage: Wikipedia explanation and background bio Sample imagesIt should be noted that Swiss Toni is not strictly Woollarding, though he does deserve an honourable mention. Fig 2: Swiss Toni, not Woollarding, yesterday. (with thanks to totalmcars.com) It should also be noted that Grace Jones did not have Woollarding in mind when she sang Pull Up To The Bumper.
-
surely 'actually about cars' would be missing the point? #; ) We should have an official Bimmersport Woollarding thread. Images in the Woollarding tradition, only. In fact I think I'll start one! EDIT: whey hey - I did!
-
Maaaate, where's the commitment?! It's green too, tapes are free at your recycling centre. #8 )

yup, me too. once you're using a decent sytem with good resolution, 320k sounds sh#t, Actually no, even my iPhone with simple Sennheiser PXC-250-II noise cancelling cans reveals 320k is shh**tt compared with lossless. And on a good hifi, lossless is laughable compared to WAV or CD. short version: Yup, I disagree.

I've been on telstra clear/voda cable since 2003, upgraded to their high-speed offering a couple of years ago, and 100mbps/unlimited for more than a year. I get 125mbps down, 12mbps up, and 8ms ping, so when its working, it's excellent. Voda Cable TV is excellent insofar as no rain fade, though the user interface is not ideal SkyTV have clearly eyed up Voda Cable TV and decided to do worse with their new Sky interface so I'm laughing. #; )
-
awesome. if voda ran monitoring on their cable network they could do the same. ooops, and then I woke up! great service Allan. what sort of speeds do you get over your wireless connection?

F*#king internet and cable TV gone out at home. on thursday. before a long weekend. power reset cable modem. called voda. nope, can't find your modem. We'll have to send an engineer. next wednesday. New Zealand Day weekend with no TV, no internet, no netflix, and the one dayer in wellington. f#@kers. I'd pay $20/month on top of my current monthly bill to have next-day on-site technician. not an option. I curse Spark and Voda for their low-margin low-SLA service provision contracts with Downers et al. brought to you by mobile 4G modem.
