Can't see any recent articles on any news sources. Usually they're plastered with them if this were happening.

Yup. Want to buy one - rep or otherwise is fine. PM if you have one, however i'm not hopeful. Alternatively I'd like an OEM High-Arch wing (Not low arch). Cheers

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-956934251.htm Not sure if seriously asking 23k for a non-M auto cabriolet o.o And who the hell imports REPLICA style 24's?
-
Was looking at these myself but a highly unco-operative seller doesn't help. :/ Would have paid a fair bit more than $550 if they'd have been willing to drop at a depot.

It took me far too long to notice the scissor-doors. Does that mean they suit the car..? o.o Stunning example in my favourite e46 M3 color, welcome.

Sorry mate didn't see this! I am seeing a slight rev hang - will try the ICV socket fix although i'll use a 3/8 drive so it isn't as restrictive. Hopefully it doesn't choke the car at all. I'll definitely pick up a centre at some point, hopefully can land one from overseas for fairly cheap.

BBS RG's on. Square set of 17x8 painted in Gunmetal. 235/45/r17 on the rear, 225/45/r17 on the front. Up next on the to-do list: Booked in at Carfolie this weekend for Tints - getting sick of the sun murdering my eyes from the side windows. Wire up 18 button OBC this weekend Install black front bumper mesh insert (Removing the m-sport style plastic grille) - Likely this weekend Got Powerflex poly RTA Bushings sitting here to install at some point - (SJ?) Then steering rack ends and misc ball joints that I'll replace. New rear brake pads are in order - whoever installed them last broke the retainer clips so they're rattling which is infuriating. And will eventually get on to some Koni shocks with H&R springs in the new year I think, my wallet could do with a rest. Just going to put some k's on the manual conversion and enjoy the car.

Yes yes and yes.

Apparently there's a sticker in the boot that shows if recall work was done - The 2002 ones had bearing issues and had a recall done as part of this to have the bearings replaced as they apparently failed at around 20,000km. But as far as I know the bearings were just replaced with more cheap chinese ones that were used in the first place? Might pay to find your sticker and see if this was done

How about now? it's a new day

Cheers Glen! Really does improve all aspects of it. Feels like my old nz new manual 323ci, just a fair bit quicker. Interesting re: ratio. Glad I don't have to swap the diff, although I'll likely be looking at putting an LSD centre into the current diff to preserve the ratio, unless a whole LSD unit is cheaper when I'm looking. Thanks Richard, it's a night and day difference. It shouldn't need anything done at all. If you read online about it it makes no difference at all, so you might have other issues if it's not running well?

It's as if it were like this from factory..( ) Stoked. Finished at around 4.15pm today. Installed gearbox in the pissing down rain in under 20 minutes with 2 people, a jack and a lot of swearing. Stopped raining immediately after. Definitely wakes the whole car up, gearbox is nice, clutch is nice, sits at 3krpm in 5th at 100kph which is fine. Completely transformed the car, am ridiculously happy with it. Overall about a 12 hour job for 2 people, had to take a few breaks as I didn't receive a few things with my conversion (Spigot bearing, driveshaft bolts, reverse light plug for gearbox, shifter selector arm pin), so had to run around getting them. Also picking up new BBS RG 17x8 in gunmetal tomorrow - will look nice. Will refurb and sell the BBS RX-204's.

2 Day surgery as it turns out. Dropped all the auto parts yesterday, was being messed around trying to find a Spigot bearing - have got one now. Current status: Flywheel bolted up to engine, pedals are installed, clutch hard line installed. Need to bolt up clutch and pressure plate, gearbox, crossmember, driveshaft and shifter assembly, reinstall all heat shielding, exhaust and all the other in-the-way things we've taken out etc, then wiring and can turn key. With any luck it'll be done by early arvo and will be driveable.

Although you aren't buying a BMW, EVO X's are amazing cars. My favorite evo shape and with all the nice modern comforts, not a bad choice at all. Pics please when you've picked it up

Surgery tomorrow. Let us all pray that the car comes out the other side as a man...ual with no hiccups.

I don't think Caribbean upholsterers would be any better than local Upholsterers. Take the seats that are currently in the car, or buy sports seats locally, and take them to an upholsterer who will be able to reupholster them in any material you with, with any design you wish. Save yourself $1k in shipping, customs costs and lost money due to the NZD's current ridiculous weakness against the US dollar.

*hopes it's an M5*

It's an e36, are you sure it came with a 3.46? Can't find anything anywhere to support that. EDIT: Actually you may be right..According to this: http://www.driftworks.com/forum/technical/42834-bmw-e36-differential-ratio-got-screwed-up.html Jap 328i's have a 3.46? this definitely correct?
-
Style 24's? Staggered? Good condition? Pictures? Price?

Necrobumping this thread. Converting my e36 328i shortly (aiming for this weekend). Jatco auto, likely has a 3.91 diff (as this was the factory diff for a 328i auto, but the tag is missing on mine), replacing with ZF 5 speed. From what I understand i'll likely be sitting at 3400ishRPM in 5th at 100kph with the 3.91, while I wouldn't mind this for a couple of weeks I'll likely want to have somewhat decent fuel economy in the future. I take it I'll need a medium case diff? Brent, do you happen to have any 3.15's or 3.46' in stock? Pricing? Actually using a diff ratio calculator.. 25 inch diameter tyre (rounded up from 24.972) - (225/45/17 tyre on 17" rim) 3.91 diff ratio 62mph/100kph = 3258rpm? Surely this can't be right? Seems awfully low rpm, I'd almost be happy with it if that's the case o.o

But does it have an Insane mode

Should definitely be compulsory - have had multiple friends crashed into and the other party didn't have insurance, usually 20-somethings texting/not paying attention and rear-ending them.
-
The money spent on this could get you a decent condition M3. Repaint + LSD + supercharger alone will be in the 10k region. Manual conversion will be anywhere up to 2k depending on parts used. Mine's currently running in at about 1600 for all parts (ZF gearbox) - will be about 2k all up when done.

Redline D4 ATF ordered yesterday and was at my door this morning. Just waiting on shift knob to arrive and should hopefully have conversion completed next weekend (Should be working on it sat/sun). Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Painted-DUSA-Rear-Trunk-Lip-Spoiler-Wing-For-BMW-3-Series-E36-1991-98-Coupe-/281790155407?vxp=mtr Can definitely attest to the quality being good - Paint was perfect, they're painted to order. Received within 2 weeks of payment. I had to message them about whether or not they could do Estoril, but they were able to.
