  1. Looking awesome SJ. Agree with Remus muffler quietness, Mine's rather quiet until i put my foot down and then comes on with a nice rasp. It's quiet whilst cruising along as well which is nice.

    MissBM V.2

    Smoked. Anything orange looks laaaaaaame
  3. 5 Spoke wheels don't suit an e30 IMO. Basketweaves would be nicer and as others have said, more period correct.
  4. Paul from Milland is excellent. Gave him a call re: thermostat and housing a while ago, gave me a discount and had it to me 18 hours later.
  5. Oil/Filter change. Snapped sump bolt. Took so much force to get out it looks like it fractured, when I went to put it back in it barely got tight against the sump and the head snapped clean off. Luckily was doing said change at another forum member's house who had the right drill piece to pull it out. Emergency trip to scarles for a temporary alloy bolt. Will replace with proper bolt next oil change. Running much better now.
  6. Welcome to the forum. Very clean sedan. The general best recommended shocks & springs combo is Bilstein shocks or Koni Yellow shocks with H&R springs. I have Bilstein monotube shocks (m3) in my E36 with B&G lowering springs and it handles extremely well. You'd also do well to contact Ray (HELLBM on here and www.hellbm.com and spend $250 on one of his E46 purple tag steering racks, this is a ridiculously huge improvement over the stock rack, and will bolt right up. It'll get rid of the horrible dead-on-centre steering that e36's generally have stock and also tighten it up, 3 turn lock-to-lock ratio.
  7. Finding a manual 330ci will have you waiting a long time. I had an NZ new manual 323CI which was rare enough but the 330 is even more so. RE: trying to sell car in Auckland, unfortunately a Mazda 6 will never sell quickly. There's probably 1000 other Mazda 6's on Trademe in Auckland right now. I've sold quite a few cars, has never taken more than 2-3 weeks however the models of cars i've had are rather uncommon. Your best bet if you're wanting to sell it quickly is to drop the price, or take it to turners/trade it in.
  8. My first car was a '91 Subaru legacy RS Turbo manual. Was also free (thanks mum)- Must've been a horrible death trap. Had plenty of power to keep me happy, was 4WD, had good tyres on 15x7.5 wheels. Didn't cost $8k, hell I probably spent 2k on it total over the course of my ownership, before it was stolen and blown up. Under $4k for Ray's 318i e46 5 speed is a ridiculously good deal and would make an excellent first car/daily. I'd put a lot of confidence in anything Ray sells also.
  9. Very true. I've got an e46 rack in my E36 and it's an astonishing improvement over the stock rack.

    E36 m3 muffler

Most shops would do it for an hour's labour based on my past experiences with such things.
  11. Trademe badges and pedals an AC Schnitzer do not make. However your trademe price of $8500 is reasonable considering the km and condition of the car, good luck with sale. FYI the wheels are E46 3 series M3 wheels, not 5 series wheels. Check for BMW Stamping (on the wheel itself) to see if they're replica or not.

    E36 M3ish

Thanks Toby. The majority of panels have had recent resprays so the paint is in excellent condition, it's such a tidy car and very tough looking as you've said. I love it. Well he was just made redundant

I can understand the rest as they're personal taste but THIS? Have you driven in NZ before? Being baked alive isn't fun Exact reason I had tints done on the estoril coupe - Driving along the motorway and being blind in one eye through my sunglasses whilst having one side of my face roasted isn't ideal. It does drive extremely well though

My new toy. Will be a project/maintenance thread as there's really not much else to do to this car. Put the Estoril coupe up for sale approx. 5 mins after hearing that a friend was selling this - 3 days later and it was in my driveway. 1996 NZ new 328i Manual coupe turned M3. A good friend built this car from a bare shell, the only remaining part that is a 328i aside from the chassis is the subframe. Everything else is M3-equivalent or better. Drivetrain: S50B30, Vanos has been rebuiit. Chipped, Tuned. M3 ZF 5sp gearbox Quaife helical LSD. Remus exhaust Fenix alloy radiator Light weight Single mass flywheel and heavy duty clutch Short Shift kit Suspension/Brakes/Wheels: M3 bilstein monotube shocks B&G lowering springs M3 sway bars Goodridge Braided brake and clutch lines E46 m3 front floating rotor with 330i caliper and e46 328i rear brakes (Bigger than e36 M3 whilst keeping same brake bias) Front and rear Strut Braces Powerflex front trailing arm bushes E46 Msport steering rack BBS RC 18x8.5 in BMW Marrakesh Brown Interior: Grey rain Alcantara Vaders and rear seats 18 button OBC Carfolie Carbon Classic tint 35% Jvc headunit, upgraded speakers, amp, sub etc. M3 instrument cluster Exterior/Misc: Schwarz II AC Schnitzer rear window spoiler HID headlights M3 Electric mirrors Front lip Fog light blanks LTW wing Clear indicators/tails I'm in love with this car, I wanted it the first day I ever saw it, so naturally the only response when I was told it was for sale was to buy it. Spend this past Sunday cleaning it and went out for the day with 2x E46 M3's and an E92 M3, what an incredible car, and a ridiculous difference between this and the Estoril 328I. There's no fair comparison between the S50 and M52 engines, this completely blows the other car out of the water in terms of power and acceleration, and all the suspension components make this car handle insanely well. I'm extremely happy, and content with a car for the first time. Few photos below, more will be coming soon.
  15. Cleaned, polished, waxed and thrashed the tits off it with Amber, Tristan and Jayden in their M3's - Extremely fun day.
  16. Nice! I remember this being for sale roughly 10 months ago. I love the color.
  17. Need to service my car soon - S50B30, Where would I find the cheapest Castrol Edge 10w-60? I have a trade discount with Supercheap so 5L works out to $89.99, I understand I'll need a 5L plus 2 1L bottles. Anyone know of it on special anywhere? Also where would I find an Oil filter for it? Supercheap? BM World? Cheers
  18. Having an S50B30 after an M54TUB25 and an M52B28. Life is so good.
  19. My Z32 300zx had HICAS which was nissan's equivalent of 4WS. Utterly horrible and almost every z32 owner deleted it. Would hope that BMW's is much better.
