I feel bad for laughing..but that thread:
-
Awesome, thanks Kelvin. Sold! To confirm from what I'm seeing, should be about 1.2L to fill it?

Got my boot lip spoiler and halo rings, haven't installed the halos yet as I'm not sure I'm convinced on them yet. Installed lip spoiler quickly after work today, really like it, matches the lines of the e36 similarly to how the same spoiler matches an e39 M5. Can tell my car has been garaged during it's life. I got this spoiler painted and shipped from ebay (To order) - $76ish NZD shipped. Painted in #335 Estoril blue and matches the car perfectly, indicating that the car has had no color fade at all over the years. Very good quality spoiler and quick shipping, I'm impressed. Quick pic as the light is disappearing. Also redid all my interior lights with White LED's when I got home, took all of 3 minutes. Looks much better already although I'll see when it's pitch black out how it looks.

Have always heard that description when a wheel bearing is failing, sounds like going over rumble strip/Judder bars etc.
-
Sure did - Sorry have been rather busy with work and competition prep so haven't had much time at all to sit down and check emails etc. Side note - Guys with e36 M3's or 5sp 328i's (specifically ZF 5sp gbox) or - what ATF should I be running in the ZF box? Very mixed opinions online. Would usually run Redline MT-90 in my cars however that's MTF and My ZF box is an orange stickered one asking for ATF.

Might give this a whirl. I'm quite fond of project cars, between my best friend and I we're sitting on about 20+ world records (Steering wheel, manual transmission, no driving aids) for most of the well-known tracks in the GT3 cars. It's an excellent sim and I'd recommend it if you haven't played it.

Picked up full manual conversion (ZF) + M3 clutch, pressure plate, SM flywheel.
-
Am I insane for liking those?
-
Christmas! Full manual conversion, ZF gearbox with M3 clutch, pressure plate, single mass flywheel. All I'm missing is a shifter knob. ZHP time. Right, which ATF is best recommended for these gearboxes? Price not an issue for good fluids. Most forums are US and don't really help with this answer.

That is so cool to watch. It's insane the amount of stress each component goes through.

Well for a start that one is in UK pounds..at least 50k so you're already looking a bit out of your price range without even factoring import costs.. I'd say your best option is going to be to continue to wait for one to pop up in NZ, or looking for an e92 335i. Also this one was listed on monday. Manual, 61000km and 30k. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-942205248.htm

Thanks Yuen Hmm. Currently without remote locking/unlocking. Figured it must be a programming thing with the Auto-dimming mirror not working. Installed auto-dimming mirror, followed the standard remote programming procedure (turn key from 0 to on 5 times, remove key, hold unlock, press lock 3 times, release unlock). This didn't appear to work as the locks didn't lock then unlock again. However I reinstalled my stock mirror and it no longer has remote lock/unlock. So something's obviously de-programmed. Anyone have any tips on programming an e36 2 button remote? Attempted to follow the same remote programming procedure with both mirrors and neither seem to program.

It seems to be intermittent for me, usually when it's wet which would indicate a short of some kind. Low on the priority list but certainly intend to figure it out, if I do it'll be posted in here.

Cup holders were sitting in a friend's garage - He had a 328i, bought another friend's e36 M3 which had cupholders and then sold these ones to me for $50. Stoked. Glad to hear she's got a car she'll appreciate, can't go wrong with NZ new and yearly WOF's. Manual convert it??

Did the thermostat and housing on saturday, bled cooling system, went for a drive, re-bled cooling system e36 loops seem to be a pain in the ass to bleed. All is well now, runs at proper temp. Very good weekend. (Aside from the torrential rain today) Got a few goodies: F**K yeah! Cupholders! Auto-dimming mirror: I'm going to have to pull this and my mirror apart. Got the auto-dim mirror installed and the remote locking decided to stop working. I assume the sensor for the remote is in the mirror, so looks like I'll have to find the sensor in the stock mirror and fit it to the new mirror. And got an 18 button OBC: And the big news: Got a full manual conversion sorted out with a ZF gearbox and clutch to match. Will be getting all of it on Thursday. Looks like I'll be converting it a lot sooner than anticipated, although I'm not sure which Diff is in it as the tag is missing..it will likely be in the high 3's meaning I'll either run it with the high ratio diff for a little while (few weeks) until a lower ratio diff pops up or I'll wait until getting the diff to convert it. Current priorities: Install 18button OBC Manual swap Tyres Suspension (New shocks and springs) Full s50 exhaust with m50 manifold.

Funnily enough that's almost exactly my long term plan for it.

Would you consider selling the vaders separately? Pm price if so

eBay bulbs, 39mm 8 LED 5060 bulbs. Read a few threads on bimmerforums/bimmerfest about people using them. Just search 8 LED 39mm festoon to find them, I've used similar bulbs on my cars in the past. Lights up the interior much better than incandescent bulbs. $11ish shipped for 10 which should be enough for whole car.

Thanks Richard, Definitely look forward to meeting you at a cars & coffee some time, or the December meet coming up with ECC. Thanks for sorting out the docs - flick me a message when you've got them all together. Definitely signs that the cooling system has been done, obviously the thermostat is a common issue so no concern in replacing it. Just spent all morning vacuuming it, cleaning and conditioning the leather and also fixed the sunroof. Now opens fully and makes no noise. Going to do thermostat shortly and then give it a full wash/wax. Have also ordered 10x 39mm white festoon LED's in order to replace all the interior bulbs (not including dash etc) and license plate bulbs.

Nearly an owner, need pre-purchase inspection advice
Rubix replied to Emil's topic in New Member Introductions
Sounds like this thread: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/53681-just-bought-me-self-a-2001-e39-530i-motorsport/ Lots of bad luck with 530's recently :< -
I had 330k km on my 91 Legacy GT Wagon, EJ20T manual. First engine, first gearbox, first turbo. Drove well until it got stolen and blown up. :< Was owned by mother from 30,000km and me from 300,000km. Very reliable if looked after.

Think he's still looking for 32kish it's on about 160k km I think, well maintained. One lady owner, only driven on sundays. e.g driven like it's stolen..the way it should be
