  1. airmatic suspensions are problematic, give sh*t between 80-120 kms, electronics are a pain, the boot lock module is a common failure and they are expensive, parts are bloody expensive unless you get them from ebay. I owned a couple of these but in all honesty I wouldnt own another. The E500 can be a bit of a guzzler if you are doing that sort of mileage a week but if you can foot the big petrol bills and maintenance cost then why not. Beautiful cars. It cost 7 k to get the airmatic suspension fixed in the last one I did.
  2. Dear Lord that is a nicely polished wheel. The painter has them already but is awaiting my decision. It surely wont get nicked seeing as its secure most of the time on the North Shore
  3. Howsit guys. For Sale on behalf of a mate. $2950 Really good car. The bloke was meticulous about his vehicles. He even had the gearbox rebuilt just because it was due for a flush in feb lol http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=820892979 heres the trademe link call or text me on 02102916373 My mates in Austria for work so this has to go
  4. car is already low enough imho. I think the PO had it slightly lowered. I like the look of them polished but at this point in time I don't have the time to polish them. my last wheels I polished took me over 50 hours haha
  5. by the way those pistons are not screwed. A little bit of carbon deposits but that is to be expected given the age of the vehicle. The bore looks satisfactory also. Good on you for rebuilding. If you were in auckland I could of got you a really good deal on machining the head and crack testing
  6. Ive seen this time and time again when doing pre purchase inspections on vehicles for my clients. The gold glitter you describe is most likely a head and block sealer product such as RISLONE. Usually when a headgasket blows it seals up the part that is blown using the bits of copper in the additive. Sounds like the previous owner or mechanic has put this stuff in. It usually lasts around a year. I had a client come in with 2005 Range Rover with 290k on it with this head and block sealer in the expansion tank. I advised him against buying it as one of the headgaskets would eventually blow but he proceeded to swap his Honda S2000 and payed the guy $6.5 k his way. The head gasket blew the next week and there it sat in my shop until we rebuilt the motor on the Range Rover. was an expensive fix so you are lucky it's just an E30. The cost to rebuild the engine should be quite affordable.
  7. shadow chrome could be an option, my car is the same silver as the car in the video and I have just talked to the spray painter at Custom Coatings North Shore and he thinks the turquoisey colour would look good or just colour match the rims to the car. My old w210 had polished Brabus wheels with inner rim spokes champagne coloured to match the car. More opinions welcomed. Will not be lowering the car as I want something practical and having a stupidly low car isn't practical for me.
  8. orange isn't really my thing. Lol was thinking of the holden purple but then changed my mind. I don't like black wheels. Too overdone. Something stand out is what I am after.

What the actual fluff. I hate guys like this. This happened to me a few years ago when I was purchasing a vehicle too on a honda forum. Vehicle was a too good to be true honda integra type R dc2. I transferred the funds into a paypal account and poof the car was not delivered as promised. gutted dude.
  10. Hi Guys I know some of you may be completely against this but I am quite interested in this idea. I have recently acquired some style 95's that were in need of some minor curb removal and I am now undecided on what colour to paint them. My coupe is the standard bmw silver and I was thinking of doing this colour on my wheels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHNidfaRfk8 any other opinions on colour apart from colour matching? Cheers guys

  12. Heres some info on the Pirellis that I found. These are the Rossos in my possession. Unfortunately they are too wide for my car hence they are for sale http://protyre-cms.azurewebsites.net/buy/Pirelli-P-Zero-Rosso-Asimmetrico-car-tyres-285-35-19-99Y-2853519ZPIPZROSF
  13. Hey man. Not too sure. They dont look to be that old to be honest. I would say give or take a couple of years for the P Zeros and the Hankooks cant be that old because they only brought out the k110s last year or so from memory
  14. Welcome man. Must say I am a big fan of the Z4's. You should upload some pics of the car once the panel beaters are done with the car

  16. In my experience and holding a wof authority myself, VTNZ have no idea what they are doing. Half the time they are either failing to notice vital components of a vehicle wearing (brake pads down to less than .8 of a mm) or they are pinging people for stupid sh*t like a headlamp supposedly being misaligned. I for one would never take my vehicle to them. I'd rather inspect and rectify any issues on my e46 myself or get someone who is actually thorough to do the inspection
  17. Yeah I think White is the ultimate Alpina colour. It would be such a dream to own that beauty haha would call her the vanilla thriller
  18. Man i would love to own this. Looks so darn good in white too. I also thought that the woodgrain needed to go haha
  19. Dang shawty you always be rollin on that motorway
  20. Haha i was wondering. Your trademe ad said 4wd. Lovely colour and I wish you goodluck with the sale man. This should sell
  21. Bump so much interest on trademe but no one fronting up with the cash just yet
  22. I could do it. Easy way to do it is shave a little of the top layer off and weld the inner wall with mig then weld up the outer walls by joining a bigger diameter pipe over them. I used to be a marine engineer and came across these types of pipes on ships quite often and now as a mechanic Ive found Mercedes Benz pipes to be the same. Give me a yell if you dont come right with someone to weld it
