Right collected tonight, They fixed the gasket issue and refilled, checked everything and then removed the controller, grounded it all, validated ok. Reinstalled and ran around for over a day, no issues. All warranty and with a smile, can't complain on that aspect, we'll see how it goes from now on, hopefully all sorted.

Call into your local Farm Source/ RD1 store or online, join up and rock 18c a litre off gas at Mobil. Plus Repco, Bunnings and lots of other specials - life is good and doesn't need to be exclusive :)

Ok, headed home from Hamilton Friday night and at TeRapa set of lights took off and a HUGE cloud of steam explodes everywhere. Rush hour traffic in the right lane, PITA. Pulled over checked it out, AC. AC has gone again, total failure again, luckily just down the road from the AC guys, only time this month I happened to be working in Hamilton. Dropped it off and they are into it Monday, loan Corolla, still could have been way worse ... Lots of talk about warranty work Next chapter tomorrow

Lucky Matt doesn't live in Auckland and have to probably even worry about the proliferation and parking bullshit. If like me living out of Auckland, larger vehicles are not the same road blocks and add comfort for the rural journey compared to small cars. Buy what the misses wants mate you'll have more say in keeping the E34 forever

I understand the need to alter the configuration to reflect things as PWR levels change but its now out of control. What would be appropriate is the series followed by the kw level or spec level if engine size isn't the direction they are moving in. IE. 315d 3 series 150kw diesel. Then you can M badge it for motorsport model as applicable. This just makes it embarrassing and extremely confusing as to what the hell you are driving, or maybe that's the point

^^^ depends on wipers for left or right all my BMs are Euro assembled and have left hand wipers so don't get caught out with right hand when you might need left hand

Got to do the same on my E38 as well, quite similar to the E39. Doesn't look to hard looking at E38.org Will be getting mine sorted next month. Price is 250 odd bucks for just the cowl piece, not fitted

Oil change and brake fluid replacement today, brakes have been a bit soft and wasn't sure when it's was last changed so figured best swap it out. Much improved

So last couple of days had a bit of rough running, figgering it was a coil, but was intermittent . So scanner on, cyc 7 injector issue. Checked coil and changed it over to double check, no change, so not coils. Bit of Google help and checked the wiring into the injectors first, bingo, one of the plastic connectors into the top of the injector on 7 got brittle and the right wire was bouncing in and out, easy fix, back running sweet :)

I have this on PDFs, pm and I'll send it to you if you can't find it on line So You Just Bought an E60 (Version 2.6)..... Can't specify the tech details on the rear of the E61, just the share goodness of its application. Stays very flat. Firmness comparable to the E39 Msport is similar, maybe slightly more compliant. Like all BMs a poorly serviced one seems to end up costing, but that'll be a given

The thought has crossed my mind, there was a cheap 2000 728 popped up last week, gone now which had some nice facelift bits on it which I was tempted in to transfer to ours, she would want a 740 again though. I'll quietly look for a 2001/2 one to turn up haha

OK so the boss has decided that she quite likes the E38s drivability and comfort/ quietness and wants to use it for her daily for a while. Good news for the E61 its only got 62k on it and will likely quietly tick along a few thou a year now, unless we trip out to the SI later this year but that'll only be 3k round trip. Either way I'll still drive the E38 or E61 weekends when we're out like we have, so no losses here E38 heading to 210k and due for oil change shortly, will do the gear box fluid and filter change as well

Enough to pay for the AC

OK so a bit of on update on the AC. Major works ended up occurring, while we had an initial gasket blowout there where a number of items no longer working correctly. -Clutch coil was shorting out -R/Drier replaced -Various o rings and gaskets -Clutch bearing at the same time -Aux cooling fan was shot and replaced with new, not worth second hand one -AC controller had a cup of dried coffee through it, replaced with second hand one -Re-soldering and testing of PCB module, also throwing errors So basically rebuilt, however now working fine, as you would hope for this lot. Parts ended up over $2100 and labour was $1000 (which all in all could have been a shite load more) So with GST a lovely $3516 xmas present. Overall happy with the work done for the money as well as the communication and discussion as the job went through its changes. Good job I want to keep it ! AC was the one area I'm not keen on tackling so have to just suck it up
