  1. Another E92 question for everyone, hopefully a bit less controversial this time. What changes were made for the E92 facelift apart from the rear lights and the iDrive system being improved? Anything significant? Also what did the Competition pack provide, was it just different EDC settings and lower springs?
  2. Haha yeah I was wondering why there were so many pages here, didn't know the can of worms was opened. I'm not really concerned about the wider DCT versus manual debate. I have driven many manual, auto, single clutch auto and dual clutch auto cars so I have kind of experienced it all, just never driven a DCT variant on the track and it's not really something you can do on a test drive so I was mainly aiming at that very specialised area. Sadly no that wouldn't have been my Elise (not when I owned it anyway). I need to update my cars profile but it has changed a bit over the years.
  3. Hi guys, I am fighting off the urge to purchase an E92 as a nice daily with a bit of track work thrown in. I would like a manual but I am thinking the DCT equipped version is probably better day to day and could even potentially be easier on track which no chance of change down over-revs and less to focus on etc. So I am just trying to find out if anyone here tracks their E92 DCT and if it is good or if they wish they had a manual instead?
  4. 1Ms seem nice, but they aren't exactly NA, which is vital to me.
  5. Should have expected this would be quite contentious.
  6. I understand that on the road people might think the E92 lacks a bit down low but that doesn't bother me, I like engines that are all top end . I think the GTS definitely will, sadly they are very hard to source unless I tried to get one in Germany and very expensive!
  7. Sorry the writing might be a bit vague but I said it doesn't have the SMG box (if you get a manual CS) and some other things like the airbox, not that it does have that.
  8. Looking for people's opinions here, which of these will go down as the most valued M3, will it be: 1. The E46 M3 CSL. A car beloved by all who have driven it, brought down only by it's SMG gearbox. I know this is already considered a future classic, but to me future classics will be NA and have manual gearboxes. 2. The E46 M3 CS. Like the CSL but without the SMG, and some of the best bits (like the carbon airbox). Will this car become appreciated almost as much as the CSL with a manual? I know Evo magazine rate it. 3. The E92 M3. The last NA M3 and with a stonking NA V8, but somehow doesn't get nearly as much love as the CSL.
  9. I disagree that Facebook will replace forums. Maybe for the young folk but not for me!
  10. Each to their own opinions of course and I haven't seen the new cars in the flesh but all the videos I have watched the new turbo 6's sound pretty poor to be honest. I don't want to stir up a hornets nest here (it may get stirred no matter what) but would you be able to say how you got the invite? Was it part of the standard customers invite or some form of media or other special invite? If you'd rather not say then fair enough! Seems like quite a few people went to this!
  11. The video compares it against the base 911, not an S. However I do think that M4s and 911s will rarely be competing for the same buyers.

    5 Million

5m isn't enough! I'd probably spend it all screw investing. 3m house 1m holiday house 1m on cars, primarily a Carrera GT and a range of 911s.
  13. Out of interest how do these compare to E92s? Is the swap primarily to get the great engine with the great E46 looks?
  14. Same here! I am seriously considering an E92 but hearing about that has certainly made me think twice! I love them for their engine but if they are a bit of a grenade then that detracts a fair bit!
  15. If you read the full stats it does admit you don't have much blending time. That would probably be the least used feature most days though.
  16. It's quite amazing how oversubscribed the campaign is! Sadly it would cost a bomb to ship one of those to NZ. Someone needs to bring a container load here and sell them, I'd buy one!
  17. It was indeed very close, but the best team won in the end
  18. It was pretty intense game! Hopefully we see some more goals tomorrow and not a 0-0 draw in normal time.
  19. To be honest a lot of the Ferrari owners and events are not nearly as bad as you would expect.
  20. Sounds pretty poor really. CCS have been a lot better to us with invites to things across their brands. They even treat me very well when servicing my Golf that I did not buy off them. I'll be buying my next car off them I'm pretty certain so good customer service does work! As mentioned earlier though it can all come down to a single person, if you have a good relationship with a dealer or service manager it helps a lot.
  21. Hopefully Germany take it out. I should have put more on them at the beginning.
  22. That is an impressive looking cage! I want this car.
  23. I was thinking Jensen-Healey and it certainly looks a lot like it but they don't have those vents on the side. Is it a modified one or something?
  24. It's percentage not overall, I know this. If they used outright numbers it would be just as flawed, then if they didn't insure Subaru's for some reason they would say no Subaru's were stolen and they'd fall of the list. It's always tricky when the information source only has their part of the picture. And it doesn't help them that the insurance company are actually only minority owned by the actual AA anyway, not that the AA know much about cars themselves.
